I saw 2 New Orleans Jazz games, at the Superdome, with Pistol Pete. I listened to most of the games on the radio with Hot Rod Hunley announcing. When the pistol was giving a show, Hot Rot would say, "It's Showtime !!"

As great of a player as he was, he was an even more committed Christian. I love hearing his testimony on RUclips.

He’s the reason I started playing basketball I use to take my ball to school like him I even learned how to spin the ball on my finger for an hour I did every drill he did including throwing the ball high up and catching it behind my back…pistol changed the game magic and bird learned from pistol without magic and bird there’s no Jordan or Kobe or lebron pistol started that era like curry started this horrible era there’s a few that actually play basketball not horse or knockout…rip 🐐

He was an innovator. People copied his playing strategy.
I heard he literally slept with the ball. He had those work ethics.
I see Larry do Pistol Pete passes.
I see Jason Williams doing pistol Pete's skills.
It was a great tragedy for basketball when Pete died but thank God he did die on the court because who can doubt that he died while doing what he loved.

Pistol Pete was incredible! A monster on that court. A playground player that put that style into the NBA. Great ball handler who had unlimited range. He would have dominated in today's NBA with the the way the game is played.

Maravich wasn't an entertainer, he was a consummate Ball-Handler. There's really nothing else for it.

i think the pistol was the greatest of all time! you can't measure greatnesss by how many championships they won because basketball is a team sport. it takes a whole team to win championships. he was just in bad teams.

would have averaged 13 made three pointers a game and 57ppg if there was a three point line in college. Just think about how astronomically impossible that sounds. No player ever has done anything even close to that

Can ANYONE tell me anything that a PETER MARAVICH team won?
    -No High School State titles.
-No College National Championships, Conference Championships.
-No NBA Titles, Conference Titles, or Division Titles.
-Never played in the NBA playoffs or NCAA tournement.
And he had 1 winning season in the NBA, and won 20 games 1 time in college.
