    We took that awful, steep trail once, then we learned that there is an easier route to the upper lakes. Continue on the main trail and just over the crest where you first have a good view of Watson Lakes, there’s a much better boot path on the right. Alltrails shows the route you took, not the preferred route. Surprised Gaia also shows the harder route.

      We think we saw that trail on the wY down. It looked pretty steep too, but maybe not as treacherous. Glad we made it though. Those are some beautiful lakes! Thanks for watching. ✌️

    What a beautiful place. We’d love to see more fishing. We love to go fishing. Hopefully, Liz, you get to experience fishing in all the great fishing states!! So, Charlie, tell us how it feels to hike out of a Bob Ross painting 😅

    Once again you’ve taken me to a beautiful place I am unlikely to ever visit otherwise. Thank you.
    My grandfather loved to f. He bought all of us rods and reels. He taught us to cast in the back yard, and we always took them the beach with us for saltwater fishing. I think if he had lived longer, we all would have become fishermen, but we never ended up taking the pastime into adulthood. I still have that rod and reel these 60+ years later. I don’t know if I’ll ever use it again, but it’s a nice reminder of a time long in the past.

      Trekking poles for the win! Just sucks to have one more thing to carry. Doing the hiking you do is worth it though. It helps a ton on the inclines and declines.

    You too have such a fun time exploring nature. I like having my thirs leg, pole walking stick. It helps take pressure off, helps with speed pushing yourself a long, and for balance walking a cross downed trees and stuff. Making videos is such an art form and strong passion, I always enjoy the way you team up so well to produce a work of art in every video. What a cool walkway up there! What a beautiful experience and place to explore. Moss covered trees is the best. Wow. What a beautiful view up there, of the lakes and other miles. Exploring new grounds is the best! Thanks for the journey! Perfect music once you got up to the lake, just epic epic place, wow. The clear water is beautiful! I always love your perspectives!

    That is such a beautiful place, the landscape just kinda melts into the water and almost impossible to see where the water even begins. I would love to visit here someday ❤
    You would probably love the Gitche Gummee trail in Minnesota. It follows the Northshore of Lake Superior. Incredibly beautiful.
    I know nothing about fishing. Or fishing gear. If you come to MN, be sure to check with the DNR for rules and regulations.
    Adventure on!

    Also, I would like to get a couple of your business cards. I’m planning to put up a board on my table with everyone’s channel on it and pan over them when I do my videos. Let me know if you would like yours to be on the board.

    Thats one heck of a hike , I loved it ... and that camping area is nice but the most important thing , next time you are here the Fishing License is on me , I don't want to hear no arguments Merry Christmas or Happy Birthday or what ever Holiday or event we are close to 😝.. the tap was a good idea I have used heat shrink before its super light pretty cheap and just a lighter will make it shrink. Also good call on the roasted garlic and herb tuna , I my self am a fan of the sweet thai chili ..
    Great video and beautiful scenery , Stay safe out there my friends Miss you both

    • @TheAdventureCloset
      @TheAdventureCloset  Год назад +1

      Heat shrink! That's super smart. Gonna have to get some for my kit. Better than being counted out for fishing. Can't wait to see what the fishing is like over that way. I probably would argue with you though. 😆
      Thank you! We miss you too. We will get back there.

    That was an epic view; how beautiful and pristine! You could tell by the look on the pikas face, they aren't used to seeing a lot of people around there! That seemed like a rough climb in spots but doable, at least it used to be for me! I was a hiker, and I could easily walk an hike for just miles and it wouldn't bother me back then. But that was a gorgeous hike. Thanks for the adventure and I love to watch fishing these days I can't fish anymore being one handed but I still love to watch fishing. My advice, do what you love. Life is way too short not to!

      All these lakes we go to are pretty high up and fresh snow melt. Makes it extra chilly. We've Been tempted to swim anyway. Nothing like swimming in those clear waters in the North Cascades on a 90 degree day.

    Thanks for the vid! I've done the Watsons & lwr Anderson. I'm preparing for upper Anderson this spring. I also flyfish. As a suggestion, try using a smaller lure and a slower retrieve. Letting it sink to the bottom can also be helpful. Great views & awesome video! Thanks!

      Thank you for the tips. I hope you have better luck. It's still worth it for the beauty and quiet up there. It surprisingly doesn't see a lot of traffic.

  • @outdooradventureswithfayde6832

    That was so much fun! I would love an Adventure Closet style hat, to be honest. You guys totally rock that look, and I dig it. The Mt Baker area was another treat to see you guys hike and camp and fish! I wish I had some tips and pointers when it comes to fishing. I know the catfish on the Illinois River like it when you cut the golden roaches(a type of minnow) in half and step on em. Caught a lot of them that way. Lol, other than that, I got nuthn. I loved the views at 33:10 through 33:20 I think it was best. But really all of it was amazing. Sorry I'm watching late but I'm up in the Keewenaw again. Goin to the Porkies tomorrow. Hope you guys have great weekend 😊

    I personally like to take powdered mash potatoe (has to be the seasoned stuff.) Oats and dried berries. Dried fruit and nut. Biscuits. Bread and some bacon. 😮 can't miss the bacon

      I don't, but we have had a few of our volcanoes do that over the years. It is a little unnerving but they do monitor them pretty well. Glacier Peak on the other hand has the least monitoring. That one worries me sometimes, but it us pretty remote.

    Love the rocks but are they lava, slate or other? As for fishing recommendations, can’t comment but wonder if any states offered a daily or weekly license? That would be ideal, but I suspect the states are greedy and make you purchase for the year. 😒

    • @TheAdventureCloset
      @TheAdventureCloset  Год назад +1

      This is sperpentinized greenstone which began as lava but was subjected to low grade metamorphosis. This section of the North Cascades is full of metamorphic rocks. They're really interesting, but not prized as much as others.
      In other states I will probably try and buy daily passes or sometimes they offer 3 or 7 days.
