There's just something about 2nd gen groups like this that's so unique, their music is timeless and, even though it never got even part of the success it truly deserved, it sticks with us. Sure, it wasn't a chart success but we remember it for years to come. I like to think gems like this become "cult classics" among the fans and I think ChoColat will live on in the minds of K-Pop fans. ChoColat, Rania, 9MUSES, Spica, Brave Girls, April Kiss, Hello Venus, C-REAL, Fiestar, Melody Day and so many others. They might have not captured global attention but their music will live on. I used to worry some groups could be forgotten as time goes on but it makes me happy when new K-Pop fans know them as well.
I would also say they (and everyone you listed above) are 3rd gen . 1st gen surely were h.o.t, sechskies, s.e.s, finkl, shinhwa and such, 2nd are dbsk, ss501, suju, big bang, wonder girls, snsd, kara and such, and then when everything was just about being catchy and colorful is when 3rd gen started, so probably already starting from BEAST and T-ara at the end of 2009~
The plot is similar to the Peter Pan story (the real one /aka the 'dark' version) where Tinkerbell falls in love with Peter, but he's too in love with Wendy to even notice. And therefore, Tinkerbell gets jealous. And the jealously turns into hatred.. therefore the song is called 'Black Tinkerbell'

This is still one of my all-time favorite KPOP songs ever even after 10 years, not just only because of nostalgia, but also because the music is genuinely good and the girls are really talented. I seriously lost respect to the K-pop fandom cause everyone slept on that masterpiece. :/ Black Tinkerbell is another masterpiece. This song is so catchy and it has a deep message in it. The B-Side track ' All Night ' is a fun and catchy song as well. All what everyone could do is to make this release fail so hard to the point where they disband???? I can't anymore. I've read Melanie's story, I could see her being frustrated by the company's treatment & the group's failure, but what I want to say is that Chocolat was really and will always be one of a kind. Their music were quality and they deserved way more recognition. They only stayed from 2011-2013 but they released great music to dance crazily to or to cry to. There'll never be a bi-racial girl group who makes catchy music ever again. Black Tinkerbell is another masterpiece. This song is so catchy and it has a deep message in it. The B-Side track ' All Night ' is a fun and catchy song as well. All what everyone could do is to make this release fail so hard to the point where they disband???? I can't anymore.
I've read Melanie's story, I could see her being frustrated by the company's treatment & the group's failure, but what I want to say is that Chocolat was really and will always be one of a kind. Their music were quality and they deserved way more recognition.
They only stayed from 2011-2013 but they released great music to dance crazily to or to cry to.
There'll never be a bi-racial girl group who makes catchy music ever again. Especially not one who gotten close to our hearts like Chocolat.♡
Chocolat's disbandment will always be a tragedy in the history of K-pop lol.
