  • The construction of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline, spanning 1,443 kilometers from Uganda's oil fields to Tanzania's Tanga Port, is underway. Notably, due to the unique properties of Uganda's crude oil, the pipeline will require continuous heating throughout its length, making it the longest electrically heated pipeline globally upon completion.

Building the longest heated pipeline in the world to export crude oil, then import refined oil.... Why not refine the oil in Uganda and export value added products?

Makes no sense. As a Nigerian our politicians killed the 4 working oil refineries built in the 70’s/80’s and that meant we exported crude and imported refined petroleum. This grossly affected our foreign reserves. As we speak right now, the 4 refineries is now being fixed and will be ready by the end of the year. Our renowned Businessman Dangote built the World single train refinery which started working about a month ago. These refineries will save Nigeria about $20 billion from the importation of refined products. Let them learn from Nigeria…

No money for the refinery but Uganda is supposed to build one in 2026.
