2 hours after seeing this review I purchased this monitor. Thank you so much, this was a great review. Monitor works great with my early 2015 Retina, MacBook Pro (have seen other people having issues with this combo, but works great with the DP connection) and PS4.
Just purchased this for really cheap, great budget monitor now, couldn't justify purchasing the latest model 2419h, wasn't a significant difference for me. Great video btw, no need to apologise! keep it up.
Good video keep it up! I have such monitors myself, 3 to be precise. I bought a pair of defective ones on Ebay and repaired them myself, it's super easy. And the quality is really top.
I've been using two of these for 3 years. I've switched away from them a few times but went back. I just got a 34 inch ultrawide 1440p but I'm missing the experience of my ultrasharps.
How is this compared to u2415h purely in terms of display quality? Because for some reason u2414 is retailing for higher price where I live, may be because of 16:10 ratio? While this is 16:9
i bought a like new u2414h for cheap a couple weeks ago and i really like it. everything about it feels solid -- great build quality, ports, stand (and ok panel compared to the u2417h). definitely expensive and not something i would personally buy at full price but i would argue it's worth it if you want something good out of the box, i.e. no calibrating or extra vesa stands. the bezels and general design also look amazing.
I'm looking forward to get two monitores to plug to a surface pro7 . The plan is two use just two cables (beside powering). So that would be one cable from laptop to monitor 1, and one cable from monitor 1 to monitor 2. Does this work well?
How do you compare this with the retina display ? is it better in your opinion? nice video btw:) also did u find colors to be accurate for video/photo editing? thanks a lot and happy new year:)
Depends what you want to do. It's fine for what I need because I already have an ultra wide 34". Retina or 4K displays are good but of course more expensive and you can sometimes run into scaling issues especially if you have other 1080 displays. The colours are good for photo/video editing.
I don't want to buy Dell monitor again. After about 1 year, there're some horizontal flickering lines appearing below the middle on the screen. That's what happened to mine.
Sorry to hear about that. I've never had that happen to any of my Dell monitors. And I own 13 of them (in my household), and use 4 of them personally on a daily basis. that's why I'm so confident in recommending them. Also good to check the display cable if you haven't already :)
Your video is great. I've bought this monitor after watched the video. I'm thinking about connecting the sound adapter (USB to audio ports) to the 2 USB ports on the side. Do you know if it does work?
@@jcunboxing no, I mean I wanna see them compared side by side to see their difference in image quality. No one did this comparison on youtube, so I cant know the difference. sorry for bothering you
Ohh I see. Because I only review products I own I won't be able to do that review. But the difference between the U and P series is always the same regardless of which year and edition it is.
James Chia so can you make a video comparison of these two monitor you own? Since i think they mostly update the design anyway. I appreciate it very much if you do it. 🙆🏻♂️
Ive bought this for my new dell stationery pc and I don’t have any sound from the monitor, can you plz or anyone with same issue help to solve this, any help appreciated, tnx
James maybe you can help me. I have a full hd laptop. I was considering this model also www.dell.com/hr/business/p/dell-p2418d-monitor/pd but I'm afraid that the resolution 2560x 1440 at 60Hz can produce scailing issues when I will connect it to my laptop. Are my concerns right ?
Possible but shouldn't be too much of an issue. I run my 15" laptop at 4k resolution so I have scaling settings for that obvs. When I connect a 1080p monitor to it the scaling corrects itself for the 1080p monitor.
@James Chia I did not understand English. But the video was helpful. thank you. And I'm sorry to say bad. There was no bad meaning. (구글 번역기로 했는데 이 말이 맞는지 잘 모르겠네용ㅎㅎ😅)
That monitor has exactly the same stand mount as a monitor my parents had in the early 2000s.
We still have it in fact

im planning on getting 2 for my stream setup. This review has been helpful considering the fact that there arent many reviews on this
I`d love to know about the best budget speakers to go along with this monitor. Thanks for the excellent review.
Thanks for the unboxing, and I've decided to buy this monitor to replace my recent one:)

Nope
very nice and professionell review, I have seen alot of reviews, you are the best. keep the good work going

Can I ask. In the preset screen modes, which do you recommend for photo editing. Thanks
i got it used at ebay for 83 dollars i don't mind if it's b grade you can't see scratches when turned on.

It should be fine, but best to double check that the surface pro 7 is capable of daisy chaining.

@jameschia Dell U2415 or P2419 in used, Which one's better ?
Depends on the condition of the monitor. Hard to say. Refer to my other reply on the P2419H video.
What does USB 3.0 do on this monitor? Ty for the video.
Just allows you to plug in USB peripherals OK it's USB 4 ports (2 on side and 2 at back)
Can you please tell me the different between s2419hgf and u2419h(the computer in the video)
I am big fan of Ur words
Dell needs to remove that logo on the front, it looks ridiculous when bezels are this thin.
Dude do you have the ICC profile (color calibration)? would really appreciate it.
Brightness and contrast? 75 75 is ok? What would you recommend?
Default is fine. Up to personal preference though :)

Nope. What you see is what you get.
what do you feel after using this monitor? and dell U2417H and u2518d which one is better? lesss cons?
Not sure. Obvs the second one is newer, design and ports might be different. Best to compare the specs on the dell website.
How about this monitor color accuracy?
Great!
@@jcunboxing does it have 99% srgb or another color accuracy number?
Can't remember. Best to check the Dell website.
Would u recommend the u2419h instead of this one?
Yep for sure. Newer model.
@@jcunboxing Thanks buddy, just ordered it! Hope it will be good for video editing! :p
If you're doing professional media/photo/video work, then yes go for the Ultrasharp.
I reckon the P2419H is good enough for that :)

can this monitor be mounted on a desk mount?
