    NGL, I'm a solo player, and I don't think double walling is my thing for a few reasons.
    1. Takes longer to pack and unpack, so if you get caught on short notice, the walker is already gone.
    2. If a tribe is willing to use hellfire arrows on a solo Balang base, it probably means they have hellfire to spare, and your base is gone anyways.
    Just my observations, still a good tutorial.

      Gerade deswegen würde ich aber trotzdem Doppelwandig Arbeiten um Angreifer es so schwer wie möglich machen. Wen jemand Höllenfeuer hat und du hast nur eine Wand dann ist der drinnen. Wen du aber Wabenarti baust braucht er pro Wand mindestens 1 Pfeil für sagen wir 1000 Holz. Hat sich für ihn wirklich gelohnt. Nicht.

    Good video, thanks. The sad thing is though that this is pretty much the only good design you can do with a Balang due to the low 70 piece limit and it feels really cramped. I've messed around with other designs and you can forego the 2nd airlock door for a 2x1 on the second level, but thats about the only change you can make really and still keep the protection of double walls. I feel like for mobile base design to be an interesting thing they need to up the limit to something more like 90 so we can vary the designs at least a little bit.

    • @spazknot8959
      @spazknot8959  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment and i 100% agree! 70 is far too low and even the silur with a 250 pack count is too small for the platform! I would love to see some adjustments to pack count and honestly triangle building pieces would add a lot to the building system.

      @@spazknot8959 How necessary is the double ceiling in practice? Are there many walkers around that are tall enough to fire Hellfire bolts down at the roof of your Balang base, or can they lob them ontop? Edit: Definitely agree with all you said - triangle pieces would be great.

    • @spazknot8959
      @spazknot8959  3 года назад +2

      @@tonyl4890 In all honesty it depends on the location you place your base but 99% of the bases I've encountered you can either build up beside them or use a schmett or a number of other bigger ships to get a view on the roof or more commonly I would find myself dropping a firefly or ballista spider on the roof even in bases with only one layer all the way around. this allows you to drop a exo suit into the base to destroy any large boxes. There's a lot of way to raid a base and if the raiders notice any easier way in they will likely take it.

      You have to try and place the walker packer in the center of the tile, you could also try unsnapping the roof tile before you place it because this will lift the tile up a bit giving you more room.

    So Im thinking about making 2x1 second floor with double (or tripple) walls and use only 1 wall for the first floor. This way, I can put the valuable stuff in the second floor and dont have to care so much about the rest. The second floor will only be accessible through its own door.
    Question: Is it possible, that the second floor and the chests in it fall down and get destroyed when part of the first floor is destroyed?
    Question 2: Should I double-stack the bottom of the floor as well?

    • @spazknot8959
      @spazknot8959  4 года назад +1

      It all really just depends what you are looking for out of your base. Answer 1: The second level wont drop unless they destroyed all the lower walls connected to it but that's going to be a lot harder than simply busting through the second layer. Answer 2: If you plan to double stack the walls you will only need one layer for the floor (level one counts as the first layer and the floor will count as layer 2) But if you plan to triple stack the walls you will need at least 2 layers on the floor to keep the 3 wall minimum to break in. Hope that wasn't too confusing!

    How are you going to pack that 90 placeables base into a Balang with only 70 spots?

    • @spazknot8959
      @spazknot8959  4 года назад +2

      The pack limit only counts towards the building blocks (walls/doors/roofs that kind of stuff). Each item you place in your base adds to the total pack count increasing the time to pack and unpack but it doesnt count towards the limit. So this base will be 70 building tiles and have 20 items placed inside of it.

      If you have nothing to stand on and hold space bar well trying to get into a door it will usually make you climb on the roof. Grapple placement is important when trying to get in an open door and if possible its best to use the grapple and directional keys to move your character into the open door instead of space bar. Alternatively you can place a floor tile in front of the door to make it easy to get up!

    • @spazknot8959
      @spazknot8959  4 года назад +1

      Are you planning on putting a window to your main base or in an extra room? The reason I ask is because you can shoot through windows so careful where you place them. As far as deleting and replacing tiles as long as the structure has foundation support from another area you can delete the tile. Ill try and give you a good example. If you place a foundation on the ground and then snap a wall to it then you delete the foundation the wall will break. If you place two foundations and put two walls (one on each, side by side) you can delete one of the foundations with out worry because the other is providing the structure with foundation support. Sorry if that's more confusing than helpful!

    • @spazknot8959
      @spazknot8959  3 года назад

      The Balang and Silur walkers are the only walkers that can pack stone and stone is superior to all other packable base materials as it can only be broken into by hellfire and hull breaker which is much more expensive and hard to make. They also cant crack your balang or silur open with fire arrows and force deploy your base. There is almost no advantage to a standard base anymore other than the ability to pack in a non foundation walker and the ability to pack high count bases. Iron wood bases are the only wood base that is solid status but its extremely expensive for any reasonable size base. Additionally there is no extra defenses for a wood base over a stone base because all deployable items like rupu slingers can be placed on either material. If anything wood bases are far less defended as any zero to hero can farm some fire arrows with ease.
