How did you create the materiallist at 2:55 ?
That list was made on Lastoasiscrafter . com, its one of a few useful websites I cover in the Web Links section of my New/Returning player guide video. There may be some other useful info in that video worth checking out!
@@spazknot8959 Ok, nice. Thank you! 👍
Why would I want a balang over s normal base? Because pretty much any other walker can pack a base in it. And they can have defense to protect them.
The Balang and Silur walkers are the only walkers that can pack stone and stone is superior to all other packable base materials as it can only be broken into by hellfire and hull breaker which is much more expensive and hard to make. They also cant crack your balang or silur open with fire arrows and force deploy your base. There is almost no advantage to a standard base anymore other than the ability to pack in a non foundation walker and the ability to pack high count bases. Iron wood bases are the only wood base that is solid status but its extremely expensive for any reasonable size base. Additionally there is no extra defenses for a wood base over a stone base because all deployable items like rupu slingers can be placed on either material. If anything wood bases are far less defended as any zero to hero can farm some fire arrows with ease.
@@spazknot8959 thank you very much for explaining that. That does make a lot of sense then. :3
I dont do pvp much myself so I usually run a dinghy that can pack what I need. I'll start running the balang as well. Or do you think I could run a solo balang?
@@torrieitazura4343 No worries thats what im here for! You can totally run a balang by yourself just keep the base as small as possible to keep the unpack time down. When you are unpacking people can get inside a base so you have to be cautious about that but your base is totally safe when packing it up. I use a balang with a 1x2 base on it to farm and try to keep it as empty as possible for mobility.
@@spazknot8959 thank you, I will do that tomorrow on my next gameplay.
hey @Spazknot thanks for the video, i know it's a year old video by now and you may even do better in any newer videos. But anyway just to let you know having music blasting at a volume higher then your voice makes it kinda hard to hear what you are saying ;)
Ill be honest it was probably one of if not the first video i made that had voice on it so its pretty scuffed! Thanks for the feedback tho!
make a war buffalo build videoooo
Good video, thanks. The sad thing is though that this is pretty much the only good design you can do with a Balang due to the low 70 piece limit and it feels really cramped. I've messed around with other designs and you can forego the 2nd airlock door for a 2x1 on the second level, but thats about the only change you can make really and still keep the protection of double walls. I feel like for mobile base design to be an interesting thing they need to up the limit to something more like 90 so we can vary the designs at least a little bit.
Thanks for the comment and i 100% agree! 70 is far too low and even the silur with a 250 pack count is too small for the platform! I would love to see some adjustments to pack count and honestly triangle building pieces would add a lot to the building system.
@@spazknot8959 How necessary is the double ceiling in practice? Are there many walkers around that are tall enough to fire Hellfire bolts down at the roof of your Balang base, or can they lob them ontop? Edit: Definitely agree with all you said - triangle pieces would be great.
@@tonyl4890 In all honesty it depends on the location you place your base but 99% of the bases I've encountered you can either build up beside them or use a schmett or a number of other bigger ships to get a view on the roof or more commonly I would find myself dropping a firefly or ballista spider on the roof even in bases with only one layer all the way around. this allows you to drop a exo suit into the base to destroy any large boxes. There's a lot of way to raid a base and if the raiders notice any easier way in they will likely take it.
Rly? U built the fucking base with a 2x1 on roof and at the end you destroyed it without an explanation? Now I have to destroy the walker packer, cuz the roof can't build up. Ty for wasting my mats oO
Clearly you wernt paying attention then. At 5:29 it is brought up and explained why. Sorry to hear about your materials but you may want to be sure the mistake isnt on your end next time before posting rude/agressive comments (: better luck next time.
@@spazknot8959 This has nothing to do with aggressive comments, your work is interesting but simply rash. Another xmpl: You can't explain how someone installs mods in a game and only explain at the end "Oh, by the way, the whole process can destroy the game, by the way. So you'd better make a backup." And what about the bottom of the base? It's not double. Or is there a way to lower the unpacked Base?
@@cvs5802 The explanation was mentioned during the construction of that phase of the building. To be honest your the first of 20K+ people that have mentioned this issue. I am sorry for the inconvenience but this is all built on the live servers so simply restarting the whole thing over a small issue didnt seem like an efficient use of time rather I made sure to mention the issue and why it was a problem and then move on. The bottom of the base is protected on the balang by the structure itself (the platform your begin to build on) so there was no need to double layer the floor.
You do not even explain how you got started from the beginning
Canadians heh jk - tree
Oh f**k yeah :P
Wow! Great video. So much information. Keep up the good work.
best tip dont bother
hey spaz, will you do the walker guide video soon?
would you recomend this for solo/small group play? looking for something to step up from my mollusk with base packed inside =/
Yes i would suggest this for solo/small groups but you may want to customize it to your personal needs!
When are you going to check out season 3? Will you at all?
Ive actually been on here and there for season 3 but as a PC player some of the changes/glitches have made it hard to get back into. That said I do have a few videos related to season 3 on the way!
@@spazknot8959 sweet can't wait to see some stuff. I like your content👍🏼
I’m on Xbox and I’m trying to find the stone buildings and I have no idea where to find them in the construction tab and I spent all my frags can someone explain where it’s at
To unlock stone you have to unlock Sandbag base(3 frags) -> Base maintenance chest (5 frags) -> Stone base (10 frags). I believe you also have to be above level 10 or so.
90 tiles? But you can only fit 70...
That only refers to the building tiles (walls, floor, roof, door, ect) everything else you put in it like stations and such add to the total count so it takes longer to pack and unpack but they do not stop it from packing. So this base may have 70 building tiles but it has an addition 20 objects in it. Hope that made sense!
@@spazknot8959 Ah that's fair. Shame the game doesn't distinguish them like that.

I have a problem with getting inside, if I dont have the floor in front of the airlock :D I use hook, but I always get on the top of the airlock, isntead of inside :D any tips?
If you have nothing to stand on and hold space bar well trying to get into a door it will usually make you climb on the roof. Grapple placement is important when trying to get in an open door and if possible its best to use the grapple and directional keys to move your character into the open door instead of space bar. Alternatively you can place a floor tile in front of the door to make it easy to get up!
@@spazknot8959 thanks for the answer. I guess it was bug, because now (after wipe) its working properly again. :D

thanks for the info small group coming back to the game and this was just what we needed... love to see some of the more in depth info on the new walkers and the uses
How did you place your tile over the walker packer
I believe I placed an unsnapped roof tile over it after it was in place. It may help to angle the roof up one click as long as there's no big holes you should be safe.
I built a Silur, packed it, drove to the edge and was told I couldn’t travel because it was damaged. Why? I encountered nothing on way to the edge, and see no damage on the side layout. I’m lost as to why it can’t travel.
When you try and walk off tile with a silur you have to be moving its a bit of a pain
@@spazknot8959 Really? I don't see their point in making us do that, but I'll definitely try it next time I'm online. Thanks!
@@spazknot8959 - Just now tried this and it worked! Thanks for the help!
can you make a video explaining tool pods? thanks :D
What’s the number of tiles allowed?
250 building tiles
Very nice. Tnxs for the vid demo, but I can’t tell what the platform is that you started the box portion of the base from. Is it a 4x4 or a 6x6 and then all six sides had three stone wall layers ?
This base was a 4x4 and its 3 walls thick on all sides
NGL, I'm a solo player, and I don't think double walling is my thing for a few reasons. 1. Takes longer to pack and unpack, so if you get caught on short notice, the walker is already gone. 2. If a tribe is willing to use hellfire arrows on a solo Balang base, it probably means they have hellfire to spare, and your base is gone anyways. Just my observations, still a good tutorial.
Just have a million of these on one big walker in your tribe and be like infrantry move out!
works great thxs for the torque!
Can rupus shoot trough windows?
What happens if you have more parts than the maximum pack count? The pack count that is shown x/74 does the 74 also include boxes etc.? Or does it only stand for the tiles?
It only stand for the tiles.
I've always thought it stupid that the outer edge of the map allows those further in to see people sitting there but not the other way around. I actually thought it was a glitch or bug when the game first released because common sense told me that they shouldn't be able too.
Yeah its a little silly for sure! That said you cant craft out there anymore so there's a lot less reason to be out in the dust.
@@spazknot8959 Yeah so I've heard, perhaps from one of your video's. I just started getting back into Last Oasis after an extended break for several months.
Nice! Welcome back
thanks for the vid man! i honestly had no idea they intrtoduced this into the game i thought my clan was saying potion huts, like a base dedicated to making potions XD
Happy to help!
I’m definitely getting this on Xbox One! Join my Xbox Club guys.
Uhm, how do you drive it with a 3rd person view? Am I just thick that I can't get it to work?
You can zoom in and out using the + and - key on the numpad
@@spazknot8959 yeah I know, but it wont allow me to do that on a silur.
strange, that's all I do to zoom out on my silur!
is you base 4 or 5 tiles high?
This base is 4 tiles high
After I added the maint chest and placed the Base walker packer beside it, I cant get the roof tile on over it? Is that due to my not placing the walker packer in the correct spot or have I missed something else?
You have to try and place the walker packer in the center of the tile, you could also try unsnapping the roof tile before you place it because this will lift the tile up a bit giving you more room.
So Im thinking about making 2x1 second floor with double (or tripple) walls and use only 1 wall for the first floor. This way, I can put the valuable stuff in the second floor and dont have to care so much about the rest. The second floor will only be accessible through its own door. Question: Is it possible, that the second floor and the chests in it fall down and get destroyed when part of the first floor is destroyed? Question 2: Should I double-stack the bottom of the floor as well?
It all really just depends what you are looking for out of your base. Answer 1: The second level wont drop unless they destroyed all the lower walls connected to it but that's going to be a lot harder than simply busting through the second layer. Answer 2: If you plan to double stack the walls you will only need one layer for the floor (level one counts as the first layer and the floor will count as layer 2) But if you plan to triple stack the walls you will need at least 2 layers on the floor to keep the 3 wall minimum to break in. Hope that wasn't too confusing!
1:26 What is a directional key?

title: "ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!" video: "i dont know" "i dont actually know" "maybe it works" "we will see how players use it" click baited.
Oh cool I wanna use that thing,
Nice and helpful video, though what I actually wanted to know (how to replace walls built once - I built my building without a window and now want to place a window in it) wasn't mentioned. Maybe someone can help me out? Cheers
Are you planning on putting a window to your main base or in an extra room? The reason I ask is because you can shoot through windows so careful where you place them. As far as deleting and replacing tiles as long as the structure has foundation support from another area you can delete the tile. Ill try and give you a good example. If you place a foundation on the ground and then snap a wall to it then you delete the foundation the wall will break. If you place two foundations and put two walls (one on each, side by side) you can delete one of the foundations with out worry because the other is providing the structure with foundation support. Sorry if that's more confusing than helpful!
you can use clay too, i did mine like yours but encased the TC with clay too cause people are destroying TCs to let the base rot
Problem is that the way they are doing it, they dont have to break any walls unfortunately :( its a glitch with the game that allows people to kill it.
How are you going to pack that 90 placeables base into a Balang with only 70 spots?
The pack limit only counts towards the building blocks (walls/doors/roofs that kind of stuff). Each item you place in your base adds to the total pack count increasing the time to pack and unpack but it doesnt count towards the limit. So this base will be 70 building tiles and have 20 items placed inside of it.
@@spazknot8959 i was getting the to many walls msg with this build i had to remove the double roof for it to actually pack...love the build tho man.
I had tried this before but did not think to lean the wall out. One click out on bottom seemed to be enough. Thank you for the effort and info here.
No worries! Thanks for the comment :D
