No Lights? Rebuilding the instrument cluster on our 66 Chevelle

  • In this video we put in new instrument cluster light sockets and bulbs, replaced the speedometer lens and the chrome bezel.

    Great to be able to see all of this done before I do it myself. I probably would have left the old lens on top of the new one to use the old clock hole as a sort of pilot or guide when drilling. Thanks for the video. Looks terrific.

      I thought about trying that, but the hole is raised and add an angle.

    How do you take off the clock screw that holds the plastic to the cluster

    Hello I have replaced my speedometer now when it gets 55 or straight up it stops will not go any further and gets suck there,I have to tap on the dash to get it to return to 0 have any idears why this would happen?

      There should be enough clearance, but it sounds like it may be coming in contact with the backing or the lens when it sweeps.

      Thank you! No, right now it has a TH400 from when we raced the car.

    you took that plastic piece whatever it is at the park rndl but you didnt put it back in..or did you? Im trying to figure out how it stays in.

      Yes, I put it back in. It's kind of tricky. It's just wedged in there between the housing and the gauge cluster.
