This man here did a better job than our local meteorologist way better I prepared my family based on what he was reporting about the storm and where it was going and what it was going to do I felt like theses tv weather people were down playing this storm alot and I could be wrong but I think they just didn't want to scare the tourists away from the holiday weekend but I was ready and still is

That high pressure in the Atlantic is a mixed blessing. While it is keep the tropics at bay it is causing us in the inland coastal S.C. to be in a drought. I live about 30 miles east of Charleston and we have only had about 1.5 inches of rain in 4 months. I hope that low by Florida gives us some rain. Thanks for your continued good work!

Broadcast media reported that areas of flooding are occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen with localized totals in excess of 6 inches. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area through this afternoon. -
The MJO seems to be expected to stagnate a little through the majority of August as the velocity potential anomaly shows from the extended range ECMWF. But that of course isn't ruling out possible tropical cyclones to form like Beryl did in the middle of this unfavorable environment. This could be a good thing because if the favorable phase was right over the Atlantic, we could have a train of 7-8 major hurricanes. But the unfavorable environment prevents that for a peak month. Now, September is unsure, and I honestly do expect the MJO to get moving again in September.
Old farmers almanac showing a tropical threat for Texas on July 17-19 I highly doubt that. But they have been somewhat accurate and they show another threat for August 19-21
