This can be life changing lesson for many (including me), who just stop till step 3. There are way lot of things (not just technology) one should learn before reaching to the levels where every single word they speak has significant impact on the whole company (at least on a project owned by company)
Hussein, I keep coming back to your channel over the years, as I've gone in and out of software engineering. Your reflection and acquired wisdom inspires me!
I was having the time of my life in SwE field that can be described with just one word, "Confused". Your insights and ideas are really helping me on the way. You're one of my biggest mentors (without you knowing).
12:00 Agree with this, because it's been countless times I learned more when I teach others, it helps you give another point of view of the problem. Sometimes I "skip" the solution and do a workaround instead when someone asks same problem. It forced me to answer the solution in the correct way.
Thanks you for everything you do Hussein. I remember binging your videos few years ago found your channel the best for condensing difficult to understand technical concepts / topics into understandable chunks my mind can process lol. Great teacher and have benefitted much from these channel really appreciate
Now I understood why I often take so much time understanding something coz I literally drill down the concept and just wander off whatever questions comes to my mind
I think this justifies what many developers talk against when speaking about being a “framework developer” (e.g., React, Angular, or Node developer). Companies often need developers to handle these frameworks’ weird behaviors (bugs) and customize them for their needs.
Such a meaningful video! Hussein, I am an avid follower of your content and other than the obvious quality tech content that you produce, what really makes me appreciate your channel is this depth and philosophy that you bring into your videos of software engineering. Software engineering is not only about codes and latest tech. It is also (and more so) about the bringing this "living" piece of work which would have it's own set of limitations and awesomeness. I love your perspectives! Thank you for your contents!
So deep. I am 100 % with the fact that at some stage I assumed I know everything about the technology and then when I try to explain it oups, I cannot articulate.
Absolutely and objectively Based! Recently, I've been trying to learn how to deploy a node.js service to a VPS. And as part of the guide I'm following, I'm to install pm2 for auto-restarts and all that good stuff. Now that *spark* Mr Hussein was talking about has got me thinking about how it works and considering building a process manager like that from scratch!
Great video. One thing that came to mind is that the step "building something different" could be kinda also "learning something different" for example going through a loop of frameworks just to land back at React. Also this could probably easily be applied to code itself as well, many times I wanted to refactor something only to find out I made a "better" thing with different limitations
Hi, Hussein! I'd like to become a member of your channel, but apparently you restricted (?) a list of countries users of which can join membership. If possible, can you allow Kazakhstan?
I believe any one interested in programming learn c then in 12 to 16 month you can master python, JavaScript, php. It is achievable, same for c++ , java,
How do you set aside your ego? I feel, as you mentioned, that deep down, I'm sometimes trying to prove my understanding by using complicated words. How can I become as calm and grounded as you?
What do you think, when one should move to the 2nd stage from the 1st? I mean what kind of sign tells you that, "Yeah, let's move on to the 2nd stage"? Brilliant video by the way, Thanks a lot.
contact lenses or just not wearing glasses I hope? LASIK seems to have its ups and downs, I wouldn't know though, I wear half strength contacts for the computer.
I thought I was a good software engineer until a junior once asked me how could they become a good software engineer? I knew what I knew, but I didn’t know how to articulate it 🥲
This guy talks like the drunk uncle who gives you life advice at 3:00 am
😂
@@adityaverma2492 😂😂

Uncle Hussein here giving us the wisdom. Thanks for the video.

This was a therapy session as a software engineer.
"i wanna build my own stuff, because i wanna build my own stuff"

These are THE meaningful and wise words I needed to hear at this moment. Thank you for the video
🙌
I have heard many engineers but very few wiser than this guy.
Now I understood why I often take so much time understanding something coz I literally drill down the concept and just wander off whatever questions comes to my mind
The best way to learn technology is to teach it. I've found that out when I became a full-stack instructor.
need more YT videos like this as well. This is real good stuff from a senior 👏

Imagine being interviewed by him.
Never trying being smart around him, either you know or not, and thanks 😂

this is such a great video, the whole flow of it was amazing and captivating, very chill

Excellent video
Great video Hussein. It resonates so deep inside me. Thank you

js devs directly jumps to stage 4 after 1
😂😂
Looking forward to the next meditation session 🧘 ❤
i dont know about 6 but 2nd stage should be to watch all of your courses. your content is top knotch. I subscribed udemy for your content.
Listening to you before falling asleep. A kind of voice you’d like to get drunk while listening to 😅
Step 4 for me: I think I understand this. I want to prove this to myself.
I'm gonna rebuild the tool as simple as I can.
And usually that leaves me appreciating the tool more
we need more philosophical voices like Hussein in software :)
From long hairs to drunk talks, Hussein uncle has come a long way
Always watch his video at 1.5x you get all the information at normal pace he has so much wisdom but speaks in the pace of master oogway😂
I read this comment while i was watching it in 2x
very useful , thank you ❤
your amazing

Some hard truths in this one

if you cannot boil down a framework or a tool to the fundamental you have a big gap into what you think - Hussein Nasser
Hussein giving me Uncle Iroh vibes
15:50 Sensai Hussein Nasser
I realize that I never went beyond step 3
contact lenses or just not wearing glasses I hope? LASIK seems to have its ups and downs, I wouldn't know though, I wear half strength contacts for the computer.
Who forger the glasses??
I love you sirr
Hope JS community realize this and stop reinvent wheel every week
You talk about understanding... Go meta... Ask what is understanding?
There are hell lot of philosophy in your video man, the way you combine TECH and PHILOSOPHY it's amazing. Anything without philosophy is just boring.
on the other side you can hate it even more
You lick very tired... You tube will only recommend you to me when you're either sick or tired........ SMH
Good
I thought I was a good software engineer until a junior once asked me how could they become a good software engineer?
I knew what I knew, but I didn’t know how to articulate it 🥲
please help me with that answer as well, once you are clear with articulating. haha
