  • We decided to order the Herocut Plasma cutter and give it a test run when it arrives. It was inexpensive and we thought we would give it a try. Check out the video to see what we found.

    I'm blown away how fast it cuts! I've got a few projects that involve steel plate I've had on the back burner because of how much I hate cutting it with a cutoff wheel. This is awesome!!!

    I have one. I Had to put a much larger Water separator on my compressor the one provided is not enough. and went though the consumables fast because of the humidity here in Sothern Illinois. in one day I went through like 4 or five electrodes ect fast. but after putting on the larger water separator and the one at the cutter no longer any problems and it cuts great for the price.

    I would suggest you get an air dryer in line or you will bugger tips , especially in the frozen north. The dryer can get expensive but like servicing your vehicle. Right

      Yes sir. Have one on the compressor but may add one at the cutter. Thanks for watching.

    Can't wait to see how good it works on spot welds? If you have a bunch of those to drill out that plasma cutter will pay for itself in no time. The $$ you'll save in drill bits alone and the time you'll save doing rust repair it's almost a must have tool. The little guy looks like a hero so far, hopefully it lasts for you?

    I noticed that 60psi its too much for it to take and cools down metal to much! But at 30 psi to 35psi is perfect for plasma to form just right!!

    Would that work running off of an air compressor?

    • @toddlandmark6318
      @toddlandmark6318 5 месяцев назад

      Yes it does Need air. Not sure how small of one it would accept. Mine is 60 gallons so I never have air issue. Smaller compressor might not have enough volume

    If it’s a 35 amp machine, and most residential circuits are 20 or 30, would I need to use a dedicated circuit and change the breaker to a 35 or 40?

    • @LandsharkGarage
      @LandsharkGarage  Год назад +2

      I am running mine on a 20 amp circuit and it works fine. Same outlet I run my welder on

      Yeah, some 120v welders go up to 140amp

    • @sirchawlez4718
      @sirchawlez4718 Месяц назад

      Yet you would never run anything at 140 amps on a 20 amp breaker, it would pop constantly and cause potential safety issues. It's much safer if you can upgrade your breaker to higher amp if you want to run your machine at higher amps, not recommended otherwise. It's possible at least for a short period of time (minute or two) before you will flip your breaker if you are pulling to many amps for it to handle, just because it's not instantaneously flipping doesn't mean it's ok or safe because it's not. Run it at appropriate settings according to your breakers.

      It's an inverter machine. Takes 110 volt and converts to DC. That 35 amps takes about 15 or so amps to produce 35.

    Stop cutting around your dog man, not only bad for their eyes but also dangerous molten metal being sprayed everywhere all it takes is one tiny speck in their eye to blind them, super irresponsible. I appreciate the video and the review but the dog being around you cutting is a massive red flag and makes me not want to support you if you care so little for your pet.

    Would an 8 gallon air compressor be good enough?

    • @LandsharkGarage
      @LandsharkGarage  11 месяцев назад

      I think it would probably be ok. Might have the wait for it to build air on long cuts. But as long as it builds air should work

    • @sirchawlez4718
      @sirchawlez4718 Месяц назад

      8 is more than adequate, just wait till it turns off (meaning full of air) before starting cutting or you will probably run into a lack of air partway through your cut on long cuts, it uses a ton of air, but I recommend just taking breaks when your compressor kicks back on to refill since the cutter should only be run for short periods before needing to cool off, refer to manual for operating time/to cooling/rest time, probably something along the lines of 3 minutes on 8 minutes off, otherwise you can burn it out since it's a cheap cutter. Still does great job for the price though.

    Dont touch the torch against the metal that youre cutting; its part of the circuit. it can cause the machine to short and damages the cutting tip.
    use the correct tip orifice for the amperage and thickness youre cutting at; it affects the lifespan of the parts & quality of the cut

      *the metal ur cutting is part of the circuit

    Its cheaper to buy this than it is to rent it. Might as well own one. Gotta get a old wood stove out of my basement somehow.
