I myself have never been incarcerated at anytime, not that I have exactly been Lilly white, but my girlfriend is a prisoner at Washington department of corrections for women, and. your videos have helped me to know what prison life is pretty much like, it is helping me to not be so angry because it shows me how someone on the outside is needed for support for them, and I held alot of anger because she kept doing the same things over and over and we'll that is why she is where she is today, but it is doing wonderful things for her she is utilizing all sorts of programs to better herself, and to be honest I am glad she is where she is or our relationship would be non existent today so just wanted to thank you

Love the show bro, haven't been to prison but county numerous times. Prison is the next step BUT it's not going to happen, this show reminds about how bad being locked up sucks, plus had a son he's 13 months old, and got clean. He was born while i was in county. NEVER AGAIN!
Have just recently been fortunate to find your channel about a month ago now. I'm from Australia and have never been on the so called wrong side of the law myself. I do have a cousin who I'm close to who is the same age as me( we are just a couple of years younger than you) who is locked up for charges very similar to you. I live to far away to visit him but have regular contact with his mum, my aunt. Your videos are not just entertaining, they also deal with all the things that family wonder about, whether to write to them or not, what sort of mindset they may have and what road they are headed down not while inside and when they get out. I told my aunt about your show and she is watching too now. We're hoping that my cousin can use your videos to help get him on the right track when he gets out in a few years. Its so inspiring to see how far you have come and I hope we can help my cousin out a bit with what we are learning from you and hopefully get him to be watching you too when he's done his time. I guess only time will tell, and as sad as I want to see Dave go back to the old ways it also highlights that no matter what we do, the choice is ultimately his to make. Jack Finn I can answer you as a former prisoner locked up for 6.5 years. I witnessed 1 hanging in jail, and had a prisoner OD on smuggled heroin, at my level 1 prison, in a cell on my block. Literally right after talking to him. Medics came in to retrieve the body. Suicides are prevalent, and under reported.

Completely agree Joe, I only did a few months but routine was so important, I couldn't stress it enough when explaining to friends/family about my experience. I thought the count part was pretty interesting; I was in a medium facility so count wasn't a big part of mine or anybody's routine really. Keep up the videos man.
hey joe, your'e kinda making spending time in prison sound not that bad at all. I mean, playing basketball, watching tv and reading books all day doesn't sound that bad. hell, that's probably a better situation than some people have in the free world. that being said though, its probably not a very good idea to make prison sound enjoyable cause it isn't. kids might see this video and think like "hey prison isn't that bad, so there's no reason to not do crimes, right?" well that might be a bit far fetched, but you get the point. I mean, I don't have anything against the video, i actually really liked it but I'm just pointing something out here. anyways, great video man keep up the good work :)

Prison isn't 'cool' it fucking blows to be locked up.. BUT, when your there, possibly for a very long time you make the best of it. It's hard to explain to people who've never been, it was horrible AND I had a blast.

Hey Joe, I was just wondering, what happens to the prisoners who are so old that they've become bed ridden and/or are so sick that they require constant survey? Like the ones pushing 90-100 years old?
they put them in a medical unit where they are monitored every 30 mins and they are isolated by themselves and take rec by themselves. the nurses visit them 3 times a day and the lights stay on 24/7

I thought so. It's definitely a good habit to keep. What books did you read while locked up? Maybe that could be a video idea. How easy is it to get access to certain books? Did the prison library have a decent selection for different genres of book?
rallaa Took me well over 5 years to get out the habit of EVERYTHING in my day being scheduled. Sounds odd, but freedom to do anything you want (within reason) whenever you want is fuckin scary when you first get out...there's a certain amount of comfort in knowing what you're to be doing at any given time.
