Honestly I'm sous vide steaks right now They're chuck eyes cost 10 bucks for two super cheap I suvee my steaks at 127° for 12 or 24 hours whichever I'm feeling and you can cut it with a fork no knife. When you take it out of the Sous-vide bag pat it dry. Have a nice non-stick skillet super hot with a little bit of olive oil drop the steak in should not be in there for more than 30 seconds sear both sides as fast as possible and get it back onto the plate let it rest and it will blow your mind. I just ordered the instant pot duo crisp 8-qt so I'm trying to see if Sous-vide which I do all the time is better than pressure cooking, which I can do now with this new device.

I was interested in how to use this feature on my newest Instant Pot. Thank you for the demonstration. I have a great vacuum sealer, so this should be easy with a few cheap steaks if i pick them up on sale.

Why didn't you use the pressure lid? Like it says in the manual?

Thanks for the video. I just bought this and was curious if I wasn't working the Sous vide mode correctly, looks like I just had to be more patient with the water getting warm

Yes it takes a long time for the water to get hot. I have been told to put hot tap water in it to start with and that helps.
Thank you very much for watching our videos

Another way to get your water hot quicker b4 putting in steak was to heat up water in Saute mode, check water temp with thermometer, then turn on Sous Vide mode, until desired temp reached, then put in your protein.

Oops is right. You have to use the pressure cooker lid for you to use the sous vide function.

No you don't. any cover will work. You do not use the pressure cook method. You can use it if you turn the knob or lever to vent.but not pressure setting. I've used the glass top all the time . You could also use Clear wrap if you wanted to. You just want to help keep the temps up to your settings.

Hi! Question, is that a top you bought after market? Mine didn't come with a glass top. Also, do you think you could just use the regular pressure top?

    • @ConnieNg1976

Yes the glass top is an extra piece that you buy separately. I've seen other videos where they use a glass top from a stove top pan. I got my glass lid on amazon

It took you almost two hours to cook a steak! I can do it in less than ten minutes with my George Foreman.

@@ccyottee I've owned it before and it's no comparison to sous vide, Ninja Grill or Ninja Foodie

You can walk away for those two hours and do something else. Just takes a tiny bit of planning to get a edge to edge consistent result. The effort is low and the results are far superior.

@@ccyottee i dont think you understand the range of food sous vide can cover and the difference between a geroge forman...... ur right newer isnt always better but ur comparing a geroge forman to sous vide is comical considering those things are notorious for being peices of junk and sous vide is notorious for being flawless. dont let your stubborness sell yourself short
