Nastassja Kinski..one of the most bewitchingly beautiful and criminally underrated actresses of all time.
Underrated ? She was the IT girl of the 80s in Europe. Idk bout America.
I have assisted her once at Tegel Airport while I was working with an airline. I have rarely met someone with the same magic. There was something so candid and gentle and sensitive about her and the way she looked and spoke. Her aura made you feel like a better person. I will never forget that.

I randomly clicked this video to watch, an impulse, I dunno why. But what I have found is something that has touched me. I believe it is a combination of her beauty and innocence, the accompanying music, and the video editing. And perhaps the edibles. I don't see much resemblance to Bergman, but I do see a strong resemblance to Maryam d'Abo, who is part slavic like Nastassja Kinski. They both have Russian-style facial features. Nastassja Kinski, although born in Germany, has Polish ancestry, which is related to Russian, as both are slavic. Maryam d'Abo's mother was from Georgia, a slavic nation in Asia, which was part of the U.S.S.R. Both of her mother's parents were Georgians, and her maternal grandmother was even a princess of Georgia. Maryam d'Abo was a Bond girl, playing a slavic woman in The Living Daylights with Timothy Dalton. Maryam is the relative of Olivia d'Abo, who's in "The Wonder Years."

"Tess" is where I became familiar with her, too. She was captivating.
That's the film where I really became aware of her and her performance in it has stayed with me all of these years. In many of her other films she can be wearing less clothing and appears more "sexy" but her Tess is just so captivating for me. A brilliant film. Ah, Nastassja.

I am a huge Thomas Hardy fan and when they said they had cast this lady as Tess in Tess of the d'Urbervilles I was dumfounded. How wrong I was, she was wonderful in the part and I have never seen a better portrayal of the part by any other actress. The perfect Tess, Thomas Hardy would have been delighted I'm sure.
She is a classy actress. You can feel somehow that acting for her means changing type of roles in fiction which is sometimes so difficult even impossible to do in reality.
