My last dog ate a few types of dry dog food until he got congestive heart failure. Last 5 years we fed him homemade food with variety of ingredients similar to your recipe. I also gave him apples and sweet potatoes, liver and lots of poultry. His heart condition symptoms were always better on homemade food. My puppy came home with Royal Canin from breeder. I switched to Honest Kitchen which is much better ingredients. I will likely switch to homemade food again. I am convinced it is best for the dog. I never give dog tap water. Some tap water causes tear stains due to mineral content and also sometimes it is too acidic. TFS

I prepare a cream with chicken, carrots, chayote, arracacia all boiled and serve with brown rice.
They also love apples.

I thought your recipe was very good for the dogs. I cook for my dogs too, but I prefer not to use grains like rice. I substitute zucchini for the rice. One of my dogs has liver issues, so I must reduce his protein to 25% of the total and use veggies low in vitamin A. Zinc is important for him as well to reduce the amount of copper that has to be processed through his liver. It is, without doubt, a labor of love ❤️

Hi! Sorry for my english and thank you for the amazing videos... i also have a half maltese: please consider to not overcook the meat. the dog need carnitine (useless for us), when the meat is cooked done, the carnitine disappear. Also consider to remove all starch in the rice; if you use the black/red rice you don't have to do. best regard from italy, i love your dog :)

I also interested to know if Xanti has ever had his teeth cleaned. Wondering if this should be a regular thing. I have a Shih Tzu and recently had his teeth cleaned. Dentists use a general anesthetic which I found quite scary. Do you brush their teeth?

Your dog food looks delicious. I have to feed my doggie Royal Canin low fat gastrointestinal food with no variation because she had pancreatitis last year. Next time I go to the vet I'll ask if there are suitable alternatives as the wet food sadly makes her a little smelly. (But I still adore her 🥰🥰 of course.) Her tear stains are quite bad too 😢

Hii, at the moment we feed predominantly wet food (Sam’s field, which is a fairly good brand accessible in the country we live, and supplement that with a small portion of Orijen kibble). But in other countries we lived in we had to also feed different brands. We recommend comparing the offer available to you, make sure you know what the food contains and if it is ok or not. 😊
