Maybe because Matthew just screams nonsense in the first 2 albums that really don't do a good job of showing just how beautiful his voice actually is.
The screams in this album were pretty bad, but Waking the Fallen screams are fantastic. What are you talking about? Also, he sings a fuckton in WtF. I Won't See You Tonight (Part 1) has no screaming in it, Unholy Confessions, Clairvoyant Disease and And All Things Will End are primarily clean vocals, and Chapter Four has a lot of clean vocals as well. He literally sings in every WtF song. You're allowed to have your own opinion, and you don't have to like WtF but don't spew nonsense like that.
You forgot to mention Desecrate Through Reverence, Eternal Rest, Radiant Eclipse and Remenissions.
Waking The Fallen is a masterpiece, don't say bullshit because it's with no fucking doubt the most appreciated A7X album with Nightmare.
The screams in STST aren't THAT bad to be honest, don't forget that he was 18-19 while making this first record. Not that bad for a kid but yeah, clearly bad for his voice.

I don't know why people complaining over their first album, I know is poorly produced but I do enjoy listening to this album. So I don't mind the poor quality this album had to offer. I just wish they reremastered this album to sound more refined than the original. But still, great album as a nostalgic piece of avenged history.
I've trained myself to appreciate Black Metal, so this album is a godsend after being forced to listen to 3 hours of Darkthrone by my friend trying to explain to me what "real metal" is. Yes, he's one of those people.

Remastering wouldn't do much. Most of the issues took place in the mixing and even the recording phase.

It’s amazing driving past the high school these guys went to every day and thinking of the godly brilliance that was once harbored there. Also seeing the pier everyday that warmness on the soul was filmed on. Also one time my Starbucks cashier saw my avenged sevenfold shirt and said he used to play halo with Matt. I didn’t know about a7x when I moved to HB, in fact I protested even moving here, but I feel like it was my destiny to be here.

I've been an A7X fan since around the self-titled album, and only recently listened to STST, so don't feel bad. I knew it existed, I just never got the opportunity to listen to it.
