Kind of nuts how much I used to swear back when I started doing videos. I'm much more calm and relaxed now, don't worry.

The final phase puts me into a borderline ethereal state of focus that I don't think any other stimulant in the world can give. For a brief moment, there is nothing in the universe but me and the blue zappy things.

My best tip for this fight is that in the final phase, just focus on the plane & don't look anywhere on the screen. In my case I physically tilted my head slighty left
Honestly I dont know what you guys find hard on the last phase. For me is waaaay easier than the first. And yes thats the trick, dont try to land the bullets try to dodge only and parry as much as you can.
Another advice is try to have like a "backwars dodge" by default on your movement. Like have a tendency to dodge peeling back more than forward.

Once again, thank YOU for the help with this darn Robot. Even though the old guide helped me a lot, it's nice to redo this for new players coming to S rank the Robot!
Tips from me, in case some people have trouble:
- It is RANDOM when the laser shoots, it can start as early as the first plane from the bottom part to the first parry object coming in
- Don't be shy to use the +1 heart charm. Made this mistake, knowing darn well I actually need it for the last phase
- If possible, use an EX Shoot for the heart, don't go crazy or you won't have enough for a super for the next phase

Your first guide I found literally this morning, and it helped me a ton, thanks for the tips. Before I found the strategy you used, I always had trouble with the timer, beating the boss a little too late. By adjusting how and when I used my Supers the way you did, I was able to shave a good 20 seconds off my time, and S Rank the boss. Thanks for all the help!

Whoever decided the red plane on the red background should dodge a red bullet hell should be barred from game development forever.
What I do instead of waiting to use my super right as he enters his second phase is equip the Coffee charm (like I *ALWAYS* do) and parry the pink probe whenever I have to. Then when my meter is full, I wait til another one comes out and then, immediately afterwards, use my super on both the stomach and chest to destroy them both in one fell swoop. Then I parry the probe that just spawned, wait until the meter fills up, and use my super again midway through the second phase. This strategy of mine basically allows you to shortcut your way through both phases.

Just a tip for the first phase, if you are comfortable with dodging the screws, you can duck up close to the middle centre of the stage and switch to bombs. If your firing angle is right, you can hit both the middle & bottom targets at the same time! (Just remember to duck down to take care of the black homing missiles when they come out)

really good guide. only thing I would change is on the phase when the head is flying around, is wait like a second to use your super for when he is starting to come on the bottom to also destroy the bomb that spawns, then you just go up to the top and he is like a 1-shot and the other bomb that spawns is far and easy to blow up

Something i found i did that messed me up on the last phase was shrink too much and try get through the barriers. Top Tip! - Don't be afraid to wait for a big opening, you will get one, just be patient.
The only problematic thing about that is there’s a time requirement for S ranks… but it might help me for regular. I’m gonna try tomorrow. Wish me luck everybody.

Another way to destroy the laser in the first phase is getting as close to it as you can without taking damage and swapping to rockets. It takes it out pretty fast, and (I know she wasn't playable when this video came out) Ms. Chalice makes it pretty easy to do that.

So I watch these videos, not to S-rank Cuphead bosses, but rather to just beat the game on Expert because I suck so hard.
Dr. Kahl took me three attempts, and miraculously, I ACCIDENTALLY MADE THE S RANK.

Yes! That is exactly what I need. This dude and wally warbles are the only ones I still need to S rank. For plane bosses I usually use normal or twin heart, but on these two guys that doesn`t work. I guess I just have to play good on the bullet hell. But thanks a lot. These tips might change a lot.
update: I got it now. I first used the coffee charm bc I am not good with the smoke bomb on airplane levels, but I kept failing in the last phase. Then I noticed, that it only takes 1:50min for me to beat him, so I chose to use the heart. I still kept failing and just tried out how long the twin heart would take. And with your tips and tricks I landed exactly on 2 min although I used twin hearts and beated that boss on S rank. Never thought you could beat him in 2 min with twin hearts. So thanks again! I love the guides und would love to see an updated wally warbles guide, because he's the only one I haven't S ranked yet.

Late but, apparantly you can actually go 9 seconds over the time limit and still get S-rank, I haven't tested it though.

The new dlc difficulty makes Dr Kahl’s robot look like a joke to me

Ive been stuck on S-ranking the devil. The last part always gets me. Its the last thing I have to do in the game (Until June 30th)

The final stage of dr khal is just Wally stage 2 but on steroids
The tip I got is use the heart charm with every 1 3 and 6 parry I think its 3
anyway...
the middle pink laser parry it if you can if you can't its ok save up hearts if you can and for a plus use the wish if you have them and then the charm for more hp

personally, i have the extra heart charm and use my ult in between the laser and planes to get both at the same time

The order you should take out the parts is
1) Bottom
2) Top
3) Middle

What charm did you use? It looks like coffee.
I use the double heart charm as well. It may have less damage, so it balances out. But I get in good damage anyway so I can still kill him in two minutes even I I make two mistakes
Also if you use divine relic you can parry with the whetstone the little robot planes in the first phase
You either need to nerf the volume on your music track or speak a little louder.
my laptop only lets me press 3 keys at a time so i can only shoot, shrink, and go one direction so the final phase is impossible. i literally CAN NOT shrink without dying
Play the impossible difficulty mod mode, it will murder you sanity

Hey I think we need a new guid bc dlc is out and it has hart ring in it and its just the best thing ever for this fight

Expert Dr. Kahl or Expert Devil
What I like about this fight is that the difficult section of the fight is very quick to get to, so you get lots of practice without getting frustrated by the previous phases. It makes the boss one of the easier ones to S rank IMO. Yes this boss can be difficult, but it’s over in a flash. Compared to a boss that feels like an hour long slog like Hilda or Wally Warbles this is easy.
How come the satellite don't fire immediately here?

Can you go above the hand while his heart is exposed and use bombs for extra damage?
Never actually tried that, but according to some data people crunched a long time ago, the regular bullets have higher DPS overall, so I don't think it would be worth it

Simple question, what is the time requirement for S rank?
Beat a boss under 2:04 minutes, Have 3 or more HP, 6/6 super meter (use your super or have all cards), skill level (just beat it i guess).
I have a question. What does smoke bomb do in airplane mode?
It makes you become invisible/invinvible for a split second after you hit dash (but you don't move forward automatically). It's great for levels with a lot of projectiles!

also on the third faze of phantom express you can stay on oe side barely dodging the lightning so you don't really have to move the cart
