You were correct in noticing that it wasn't being sung live (although I think the cello may have been). It was the same recorded track that was introduced at his Sochi performance. What makes this one so stellar, though (in my opinion) is the physical performance of each of them, with Dimash actually seeming to be communicating with the cello, and vice versa. I love this performance just as much as the original and it doesn't make a bit of difference to me that the singing wasn't live.
What puzzles me is that Dimash is obviously making some sound and you can clearly hear Hauser playing the Cello in the second IG post. I'm obviously not au fait with the technical side of things so how do they remove Dimash's voice but leave Hauser's cello and then add back in the Ave Maria track and Dimash's voice overlapping Hauser and why go to all that trouble for a silly Instagram post?
@@debbiemorgan859 It's not difficult given today's recording technology to do all of the things you mentioned (and I suspect it actually happened in pretty much the way you laid it out) but you would have to spend some time around recording equipment to be able to understand how it is done. As for why they go to that effort for an Instagram post, I actually didn't realize that's where it originated and I'm not on Instagram so I can only guess that perhaps as many people would see it there as on youtube, or maybe a whole group of people who would never see it on youtube. I can understand why they might want something as beautiful as this song (even if just "goofing off") to be as impressive as possible, especially for those who might be seeing it for the first time. I posted it on a neighborhood social site and had a couple of comments from neighbors seeing the song for the first time and being captivated by it.
I believe the video you reacted to was made up of clips of him and Hauser . Evidence of this is how the tux he is wearing suddenly changes to a black sequin jacket. The whole video could easily been just a sound track. From what I understand the live performance of this song will be released January 26
Shame that you wasted a reaction on this one! The uploader was obviously trying to get views for their channel as this is not a "full performance" just two Instagram posts put together when Dimash and Hauser were goofing around during a break in filming The Virtuosos.

Anyone who follows Dimash knows what this was, no one is fooling anyone, and I like seeing videos like this just as much as performances. Quality is quality whether you’re just messing around or doing an actual performance. It’s beautiful music.❤
