First of all, great footage 👏🏾 This battle was nasty. Very impressed by both bands. Probably the best I've ever heard Dega sound. JSU sounds so clean and powerful. I love the level of aggression for both bands. I'll probably listen to this a few times...😂👍🏾
I’m surprised at Talladega they sound a lot better, they usually be over blowning on there songs nice balance and blend . I like this side of tc

Damn! Can't hate Talladega has cleaned up some and brought real competitive energy to this battle and really dictated it in the end.

This was a good battle both bands sounded good, however JSU energy was dying and lacking as the battle continued, Dega kept me turnt the entire time they was on they ass like they had something to prove.😂 Dega with the dub.🔥

Mann these boys went at it! Best Ive heard TC in a while, they was ready, heat from both ends, idk i think JSU had cleaner heat & some songs more solid, but then TC was yamming over there.

JSU is more polished & powerful🔥. Dega is improving from previous years.
SU and JSU always been my top two go to bands while everyone else tied for 3rd. But Dega about to be in the big 3 for me. This must be the year of the tubas because damn. Dega definitely got the mellos of the 3
This was a good battle, Talladega sounds MUCH cleaner than previous years, however that sick pen game gave JSU the dub. Also I like that show arrangement from talladega.
Man Degas Trumpets was on fire the whole battle I gotta say a lot ppl haven’t heard Rose In Harlem By Teyanna Taylor but that’s one of my favs here! Dega smashed it and I haven’t heard not one band in the swac play it! Now this was a battle! I been waiting on them to come face to face since 2017!

@@Sagacious_X have you listened to the song? It’s a pretty tough song to arrange, but I think they did a pretty okay job. I mean at the end of the day, the song is meant to crank and that’s exactly what it does.
@@SonicBoomBandHead agree most people don't get the song. That song alone separate jsu from dega. The song has several split parts and different tempo all in one song. For those that think its too much going dont understand the song musicality. I think the arrangement is too much for some people to understand it.

JState is collegiate and clean. Dega kinda still sounds like an Alumni/Allstar band merged together, but the sound is there!

@@stixxinthecity I definitely agree but TC seem like they actually took some time to sound better than what they have display in recent years. They went from horrible all star band level to a pretty good all star band level. Their arrangements and articulation has to get better before we see them like a regular collegiate level band.
Totally agree with this, respect to both bands though.
@@byronshipp3454 You’re def right! They’re arrangements still throw me off because you can still see/hear the Southern Influence. When they came back, they were almost like Southern’s Allstar band (Not close to LLI)
I feel like once they hone in on their true style, and focus on articulation and intonation, we’ll for sure see the beast come out of them. It’s there!

I played sousaphone for 6 years and can tell you the difference between the 2…JSU are playing their horns while TC are blowing theirs meaning JSU notes are more precise and they have a more balanced overall sound although TC aren’t bad considering their band program is still in its infant phase.
Great battle.JSU was powerful and clean..But man y'all better quit playing with Dega!!!!..You can tell they been in the band room..Them boys came to battle..They had it all..Clean,balanced,dynamics,and power...Silverback Gorillas in da mist! Shout out to the trumpets,tubas,and drum sections..

Both bands are great to watch, but the BOOM is the BOOM. I enjoyed this on both ends, but I have to give the edge to the BOOM.

@@reppintime3890 trumpets is far from weak. Jsu is going for different sound than other bands. It toned down the trumpets. However there are plenty of songs this season where jsu allows the trumpets to shine. All I do is win is one of the songs that jsu allows the trumpets to let it rip. Sorry jsu isn't going back to screaming trumpets. I for one like the trumpets to shine more often but jsu doesn't want to do that.

The one thing everyone always wants to go to is JSU trumpets and while they are a work in progress saying you can’t hear them is 🧢! Listen to the parts and their breathing they are one of the very few schools who’s 1-2-3 trumpets are spread evenly. If they loaded up like other schools where half the section is playing 1st and screaming they would be “louder”! And some of the schools y’all praise are doubling parts with the mellos and playing unison parts but that’s another story for another day
