I believe we are worthy of your 'like' on Facebook. Corridor...
There are many programs that can do camera tracking, and the same basic fundamentals apply to all of them. In this video, however, Niko shows you how to get a flawless camera track in Boujou!
I'm still returning to this video ... even in 2020
Samsiessss
Yep
Me too
Almost like we all kinda care about vfx
..
Nahhhhhh
2021
Thank you! Even three years later, this is still one of the best Boujou camera tracking tutorials I've found.
how about 10 years later?
2024, still great lol Boujou destroys Mocha @@EdgePR0
Did anyone else notice the cat falling off the table at around 10:08 xD
+TheUltimateGamingLegend I had to go check the comments the moment I saw it to see if anyone else saw.
+Bob The Skateboard hahahaha me too
Have any issue with this tutorial? Respond to this comment with it and i'll answer :)
Jo i watched this and the nodal pan( man he was sooo young haha) Tutorial nowadays in 2022 and the information was just what i needed - thank you for not deleting your Videos here on RUclips guys - Hell Effin´ Yeah!! haha THX Corridor Crew you are the best!!
FIRST Time theyre creating a Serious & detailed tutorial, for a very important tool [which could get quite complicated..therefore a good explanation is in-need].
WAY TO GO, Corridor!!
This is the only good and detailed boujou tutorial I have seen
Select one of your nulls on the ground, press p for position , copy and paste the data into the position of your object. Press r for rotation and paste that data into the object aswell. Done.
if only CorridorDigital was giving visual effects classes...I would totally pay for it!
No idea what any of this meant and have no intention of using it but stuck around for the whole video! Thumbs Up!
Keep the content coming guys, Great Work!
Don't really care about the subject of the video, I don't make movies, but really appreciate the fact that you put the effort in to educate your audience. Thumbs up for the information and the kitty.
You basically mask the part that you want to object track, then invert the mask to get the whole scene except the object masked. When exporting, select "Frozen camera, moving scene" . Done. In your 3D program, parent your 3D object to the moving null.
wow youre the first person to show me how to fix if the shot isnt working. THANK YOU!
Niko has a fantastic explaining voice.
Nice job on the tool and ability to abstract the methodology of motion tracking. I've been playing around with VooCAT and find it fairly intuitive plus powerful. Has a great tool set similar to Boujou that you demonstrate in this video.
For those looking for a motion tracking app, even though it might not be quite as powerful in some area's, it's price tag for a commercial version might be just what your looking for.
I can't wait for more of these tutorial video's from you guys!
i dont even have any interest in motion tracking or any VFX work, but im still watching this becuase any video from Sam & Niko in entertaining!
Great tut man... Crystal clear!!!
yeah but I'm actually taking motion graphic classes, and I've learned more from this 20min. with CorridorDigital than from 4 months of college
Oh don't mind me, just back re-watching this tutorial for the fourth time in the last seven years. (AKA "Your budget is what?? Of course I know how to do that!")
this so much much much better then all the other boujou tutorials! Thx
Hardisk answering questions like a boss.
They probably did the models with simple planes and boxes in 3DSMax after having exported the solve.
go into 4 view mode and make sure it isn't below a null on the ground. Or you can also copy the position data of the null and paste it to the solid to get it in the general area
aWESOME...we have most of the common trackers. This was by far the best tutorial. I went back to some previously failed tracks applied some of the tips and worked like a charm...killer!! Now you guys can do the same for pftrack object tracking...
Cat + Corridor Digital = SuperUltraViral video!
boujou will be able to track any shot as long as its rectilinear, aka the straight lines arent curvy like the gopro's fisheye. All you have to do is undistort the fisheye shots, which you can do in after effects with the "lens correction" filter.
i love these longer, in-depth vids! you really helped me figure out some really annoying issues that i had with boujou^^ thanks
That would be long for them to make, have you checked RUclips tutorials for your 3D application? There is already all the info needed out there, while in - depth Boujou tutorials were pretty rare.
I finally get why I have so much issue with objects drifting. Thanks a million man. great tutorial. I really appreciate it.
Loving the hair, Niko.
Was looking for a legit tutorial for years!!!
You guys should do a competition where you shoot a bunch of footage and let your fans download it. Then give us two weeks, or so, to make our own videos with it. At the end we can submit what we've made, and the winning video could be posted on your second channel with a link to the creators channel. Just an idea...
Nico, thank you so much for this! You are incredible good with explaining things. What a source of knowledge! Please guys, do more tutorials like this. I would press like and subscribe a 1000 times if I could :)
Depends on the shot
Hmmmm, how many comments did you wrote?
Awesome!!! I like your tutorial!!! its fun! and very informative!!! More power to you and your team!! More success to you!!! Thank you thank you, thank you!!! :), ive been using boujou for 3 years now... most of the time i get away with a lot of stuff, but you showed some new things to me.. thank you :)
You guys probably saved me! LOL I was having lots of trouble with free move recently.
thank you so much for doing this sam and niko
Boujou is better at handling JPEG sequences for reasons nobody knows. It will affect quality however this doesn't matter since the JPEG footage is only use for reference. When you export your 3D models out of your 3D program and put them back into your edit, you're still rendering the final movie with your original rush ;)
holy.... BOUJOU IS $10,000.00
get it for free from torrents dude
and it probably works worse than adobe after effects 3d camera tracker lel....
***** dude.. i commented on this last year..
***** it doesn't.
Qnoops ello
Check to make sure that the start frames line up in 3ds max, I had a similar problem when I was starting in Boujou
It handels it Really good.
I tracked Footage with it shot on a 8mm Rokinon on a 60D, had no Problems.
i loved learning this, althoug i am probably never going to put this knowledge to use, ever.
Thank so much for coming through! I've really been needing a good tutorial.
Thanks a lot for the tutorial, have been working a bit with Boujou to track my footage for 3ds max and I just learned a lot and it will definately save me a lot of time.
Fo'sho hommies ! Keep the nice work up , cool and refreshing :)
Wow! This comment is 7 years ago!?!
Me: Niko, define Camera Tracking in two words.
Niko: "Everything STICKS !"
Like a boss. :D
niko ... old video but really good information for new matchmovers
Great tutorial there. Learnt alot.
And btw, do you guys keep the cat to keep out creepers? :D
YOU SIR JUST SAVE MY LIFE AND MY SHOT WITH THIS ONE!!! HOLLY AMAZEING PROGRAM IT IS BOUJOU!!!
TNX FOR THIS CRASH COURS 101!!! REALLY YOU DONT KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM!!!
Did you pay 10000$?
I don't know if this helps but if you're using a plugin like Twixter, try and record the background as plain as possible. It will help a great deal. This is why Twixter works superbly with outdoor skate or bike footage with blue sky :)
I really really needed this. Thanks guys.
When the cat falls off the table :) o.O
dude, you're a great teacher and a cool funny one. thanks
I believe you can set your focal length when creating a project :) I'm not sure what the focal length f a gopro is, it's probably around 10mm
Thanks Niko for awesome tutorial! Its a really powerfull step by step method that works and excludes many regular problems hapeens with tracking
I guess you could say Niko's advice is....GOLD.
I'm so sorry.
All good for anyone out there having the same problem, boujou reset my frame rate after I solved the camera. You just have to go in to the settings and change it back before the export.
Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial!
Please make some 3ds Max tutorials next!
Thumbs up so the they can see!
Oh! Nico! Didn't expect you here
great tutorial.
two questions:
1. how big is the difference between this and the DEMO version
2. a friend of mine was talking about a program called Eyeon Fusion
so I would like to see you guys maybe talk about it, and it's difference to after effects
thanks anyways. good vid
You have to use Realflow and you can use it as long as you have something like 3ds max, Maya, Blender etc.
10:02 thought the cat will mess erything up ... kinda feel disapointed it doesn't happen haha thank you soooo much for that awsome and verry clear explanation it helped a lot and i love your work corridor you're the best on what yoi're doing
Thanks RUclips algorithm to recommending me this almost 10y old video
thank you.. that's a great tutorial.. and i like the way you teach
This wasn't something I planned on learning today. BUT WHADD'YA KNOW. Simple and easy instructions, definitely gonna put this to use :D
pause video after he clicks save. noticed he was in his Projects (F:) drive. saw folder named Adventure Time. became immensely excited.
Long process. When exporting, Set start index to 0, scale scene to 100. When you have your .c4d file made, open it in Notepad/textedit. Search for 3.14 until you find 3.14(etc) in-between two sets of 0.000000. Top 0.000000 should be negative. Bottom should be positive. Change the top to positive, change the 3.14(etc) to 0.000000, Then search for "ParentItem 10000001" then replace it with "ParentItem 10000002". That should fix it. Also make sure to use a h.264 compressed video inside Cinema 4d.
Wonderful tutorial!
I love how the kitten knows not to step on the keyboard
Look up imagineersystems youtube channel. They are the makers of mocha and have some good tutorials. Btw mocha is a planar tracker not a 3d tracker if thats what you were trying to use it for.
So glad you made this tut!
Nice tutorial! but what about different FOV tracks? does Boujou track footage that's shot with wide angle GoPro or something like that?
p.s. will you make a tutorial about how you did some of the 3D animations or particle flow in „Potion Overdose“? Or is it Jam's responsibility? :))
Awww Roto!
Like Rotoscope? Adorable.
I only paid attention to like half the tutorial, the cat had my full attention, lol!
This tutorial is gold. Thanks again!
Please more tutorials! Even on the dumbest things!
Woah such a great teacher
What screen capture software are you guys using. i can't find one that works well. i used to use camtasia, but that started throwing a hissy fit whenever i wanted to export something longer than 2:49
Great tutorial! You guys are awesome!
Hi guys, love your tutorials.. was wondering if you have a tutorial or would do a tutorial for doing slow-mo stuff? I don't have any expensive equipment but love it when there are slow-mo sections to home videos etc.. however, whenever I have tried it ends up with all these ugly interpolating blurred ghost frames and I am wondering if there are any tricks to filming it better so that I'll be able to produce some slow-mo transitions without the interpolating ghosts?
We're not entitled to these FREE tutorials, so we cannot express exasperation with this tutorial being released a little late.
Thank you for the informative video, as always.
However, while you're at it, can we see the 12th day of VFXmas?
Thank you so much this helps me improve with the results of my tracking!
You mean the camera is moving and the shot stands still at some point? Like walking towards a point and stopping? That's totally fine.
My question is, when Boujou creates the camera, does it also honor the focal length that was use for the original shot. Like for example, say I shot something with a 16mm, does the Boujou camera distort objects around the edges of the frame as if it was a 16mm. Or would it be best to avoid wider shots for tracking? I hope this makes sense.
You guys mentioned blender have you ever used it for anything?
They did that once already, but a second time would be nice too.
Thank you very much! This tutorial save my life today. heheheheh
Thanks a lot.
Nice tutorial !
they have already done that but still a good idea
That was the best tutorial i`ve wver seen, you are awesome!
FINALLY. That's how you spell boujou!
THANK YOU ! THANK YOU ! THANK YOU ! THANK YOU ! THANK YOU !
Great tutorial! Thank you :)
thanks, this is great tutorial
Hey I watch your VFX artist react vedios I like them very much. Is it true after effects and Maya use same camera values I mean when I use camera in Maya and the same camera in after effects it's totally different. I tried looking for answers but didn't got any if you or any other reading this have solution to that then I would be happy to hear it thank you.
How do you guys handle distortion on wider lenses?
This video was amazing.
Blender has it's own camera tracker.
Did you notice the cat falling off of the desk at 10:05.
LOL
this is a great video. thank you!
