You gals are adorable. I used my Instapot Duo Nova tonight, before watching your video. It was alright, but I was quite intimidated. You cleared a lot of things up for me. Love this!
Thank you so much for these easy to follow instructions, I've been gifted a duo pot and I've been a bit nervous about using it, you've cured my nerves ❤
The best way to alleviate your fear is to pressure cook water until you're not afraid www.pressurecookingtoday.com/instant-pot-water-test/ How long the natural release takes depends on how much liquid/food is in the pot. A big pot of soup can take 20 minutes to naturally release all the pressure. If you're hard-boiling eggs, just a couple of minutes.
No once the pressure cooker has reached pressure, you should see almost no steam being released. If you're seeing steam around the edges of the lid, that means your gasket is not in place properly.
Hi Anna - how long it takes for it to come to pressure depends on the ingredients in the pot. If you have a full pot with cold ingredients, it can take a long time to come to pressure. What are you trying to make? Are you pressure cooking or slow cooking?
While we love our Ninja (there's NOTHING like that thermometer!), this Nova is way lighter to lift! It's also a more basic model, so it's in more people's budgets. And, since it's more basic, it's often less intimidating to beginners. :)
@@PressureCookingToday that's wisdom. :-) Would you please tell me how many inches across it is on the inside bottom of the air fryer basket of the the OL701? Wanting to order paper liners for it before it arrives. Thanks.
Sorry, we rarely use slow cook so we focus on pressure cooking. Slow Cook low is similar to a Keep Warm Setting, Normal is similar to Low and High is similar to High. People have more success with the slow cook setting if they start out using the saute function to bring up the temperature quickly and then switch to slow cook.
Why is this still on KEEP WARM? 🥲 i pressed the pressure cook already and picked high pressure. It just says ON for a while now. Is there a button on the top that has to be positioned? And also it says on and so much steam coming out of the black button
The light on the Keep Warm setting lights up to let you know if will go to Keep Warm after pressure cooking. Having it On does not interfere with the pressure cooking function. The display will show On until it reaches pressure. How long it takes will depend on the ingredients you have in the pot. The more liquid and the colder the ingredients, the longer it will take to come to pressure. There is not a button on top that has to be positioned. This model automatically resets to the sealing position when you open and close the lid. If steam is coming out of the float valve, that is normal. If steam is coming out of the steam release valve, the perhaps it is not seated properly and needs to be pushed down onto the metal stem.
Ive been sitting here trying to figure all of this out, this was very helpful and less intimidating than trying on my own. THANK YOU
Glad it helped - have fun!
Me too!!
Thank you so much! I've been terrified of using my Insta Pot Duo Nova. I really appreciate your demonstration of how to safely and easily use it!
You are so welcome - have fun!

Thank you for the video. It was very helpful!
This is very very useful. Thank you.
Around the 12 minute mark, soooo helpful! I thought I broke it when steam was coming out 😅
Great to hear it was helpful - thanks!
New Subscriber! Happy to find your channel. I make instant pot recipe videos too. This looks delicious! Thanks for Sharing!
Thanks for the video. In case Im the only one one the planet that could not get the lid to go on-locate the handle towards the "Back" !! LOL
Just learning about this
Thank you for the video. My only question is, do you have to do the 5 minute pressure cook before each time I cook something?
No, follow the cook time in the recipe you're using until you get the hang of pressure cooking.
@@PressureCookingToday thanks!
I have a duo nova and a duo crisp + air fryer. Can you do a video between those two? I find lots of videos but none for the sup nova but a duo plus
Wife here. I am scared to use mine. Question if you just let it natural release how long does it take?

I'm looking at buy the 8L Instant Pot Duo Nova - question, what psi does it operate at on the low and high pressure settings?
High (10.2-11.6 psi) and Low (5.8-7.2 psi)
@@PressureCookingToday Thank you very much for your reply this has helped me enormously. Kind regards, Jo
Excellent
Does the steam keep coming out even as you’re cooking?
No once the pressure cooker has reached pressure, you should see almost no steam being released. If you're seeing steam around the edges of the lid, that means your gasket is not in place properly.
Is it good for cooking kidney beans , chick peas & lentils etc.
Definitely! Here's some info on beans www.pressurecookingtoday.com/pressure-cooked-beans-most-beans-cook-in-less-than-10-minutes/
Mine keeps stating ON and never does the countdown, I already tried twice… not sure what I am doing wrong 😢

Please, How do I get the sound back?
Right after you turn on the Duo Nova, press and hold press the plus button [+] button until the display shows S On
How much is 1 cup of water? 250 ml? Or 150 ml?
1 cup of water is 8 ounces or 237 ml
@@PressureCookingToday Thank you!
i'm sorry, What's 'The Key Form Setting?'
Can you use it to air fry chicken?
You'll need an air fryer lid but the Nova is compatible with the Instant Pot air fryer lid.
@@PressureCookingToday okay, thank you
After using the Ninja OL701 why waste time with anything else?

What size for a family of 4
A 6 quart would work well for a family of 4.
Can you roast potatoes on this and make home made pizza?
You can steam baked potatoes www.pressurecookingtoday.com/pressure-cooker-baked-potatoes/ but you can't make homemade pizza in a pressure cooker.
oh.. Wait, Are you Saying, 'Keep Warm Setting?"... I'm sorry... I get it now....
Yes - Keep Warm :)
You didn’t go over the slow cooker setting
Sorry, we rarely use slow cook so we focus on pressure cooking. Slow Cook low is similar to a Keep Warm Setting, Normal is similar to Low and High is similar to High. People have more success with the slow cook setting if they start out using the saute function to bring up the temperature quickly and then switch to slow cook.
Lot of rubbish didn’t tell how to set up the timer
The timer is for delayed cooking and people generally don't use that feature.
