This is just what I have been looking for! Thank you so much. Leaning toward Prime just because this is where we need to go for the planet. Thanks again for giving these items needed for making an informed decision.
I got the 2024 RAV4 XSE Prime in Silver Sky, with possibly the last RAV4 Prime model my dealer was getting from Japan for the year. It’s missing the Premium Package, so the Pano roof, 360 view, unique softex, ventilated front seats, HUD, etc are all missing. The price was already up there and the premium package would have put it way over the top, but I do get the occasional tinge of the “grass is greener” complex despite the significant cost savings. But with a reliable PHEV and AWD as my main requirements along with Toyota’s reputation for reliability, the 2024 XSE Plug-In model ticked all the boxes, and even sans the Premium Package options, I am quite happy I was able to catch the incoming inventory before the year was up.
@ I don’t have the sticker price in front of me, but based on my remaining balance and the 2 payments I have made it was in the $54.3K range. I’ll post an update when I have the sticker in front of me. The monthly lease offering was not that much cheaper monthly than the purchase as the dealer had no good lease incentives for the Prime.
I have a 2023 rav4 prime xse and it is an amazing car. For the price though a passenger power seat, seat position memory buttons and the 110 outlet in the trunk should have been included. These are only available with the technology package.
I'm not convinced that the Prime advantages are not offset by the disadvantage of higher price and related issues, as fairly well-covered by this vid, so I am sure this vid was an excellent help to me in understanding the question. Add a look at resale value to perhaps allow an answer.
I think the cost/benefit will change greatly depending on many factors such as daily mileage, access to charging, local gas prices, etc. Great feedback, thank you!
@@toptrims I think you are right tt, that's why I'm buying the rav4 prime. i also use an e-bike when weather permits, and in Costa Rica that is most of my transportation. Gracias amigo!
This sure helps narrow down the options, thanks for covering all the important things, too bad there is no tax credit to help out with it's high price, sure the quality is there, but it is out of reach of midstream Americans, hope it changes soon...Javi G.
Doesn't matter, because there are only two levels (SE and XSE), and only one is available. Just get an SE and be happy. It's a breakthrough car. Dealers and consumers are completely missing the main feature of this car. The RAV4 Prime is a performance SUV. It's quicker than the similarly sized BMW X3. Forget all this business about running it in EV mode until the gas engine has to take over. The electric part of the powertrain has been set up like a turbo-charger. Just put the car in "normal" mode, press the accelerator, and take off. Instantaneous acceleration. It also has surprisingly nimble handling. The sport seats in the Prime SE sit lower than any of the standard LE RAV4s, and they hold your butt in place as you zoom around town. When you test drive one, I suggest you drive the fanciest standard or hybrid XLE they've got. Then get in an SE Prime, and you won't believe the difference. It even sounds better. You'll have a hard time keeping your checkbook in your pocket.
I completely agree. Don't fool yourself into believing that the Rav4 Hybrid and the Rav4 Prime are the same car. I test drove both and purchased the Prime. The two cars drive very differently. Sorry, that booming engine noise and interior noise in the Rav4 Hybrid was not for me. I did not want to fork over the extra money for the Prime, but it is well worth it for me. There is also the $6500 lease incentive money to reduce the cost of the Prime. One month after purchase, I paid off the lease in full without penalty.

Glad it helped, thank you for your comment!
Thanks, one of the best review video of RAV4 prime out there
Much appreciated, thank you!
Awesome detail review of the two versions I was considering. Well Done! Ok my choice Prime XSE.
Top of the line, excellent choice!
Great video; I love the layout and breakdown of each trim. Thank you!

Plenty to be excited about there, congrats!
Do you mind sharing the price you were able to get and whether you could get the 6500 lease cash?

I am test driving the PRIME today.

They are very impressive, but definitely agree there are certain things you should be able to expect given the price point. Thanks!!
Very comprehensive... thank you!
Thank you!
Can you compare the rav4 prime xse, and rav4 limited hybrid, in terms of specs and features and so on ?
Thanks for this video bud!

Great video, could you do the 2024 Chevy trax next??
Great suggestion, we’ll get to work!
Chevy Trax video is up!
Is the RAV4 Prime Premium package contain the only rear view mirror with integrated garage door opener?
The RAV4 Prime XSE will come standard with Homelink (garage door opener) on the rearview mirror

Yes, they are certainly not cheap. Thanks!
The $6500 lease incentive money on the prime is a big incentive. Agreed, the vehicle is still out of range for a lot of families.
At what speed and rate of acceleration can it drive on electric only?
I own a Prime 😎 you can drive up to 84mph on just EV power which has always been plenty as I rarely do this as this doesn’t maximize the EV range
@jinfield with the assist! For rate of acceleration on EV only mode I’ve read around 9 seconds 0-60 which is not that far off a gasoline RAV4
@@jinfield thank you.
@@toptrims 5.5 Seconds.
The motor configuration on your video is wrong. Only one rear motor. A main and secondary motor in the front.
Thank you for the clarification
Great video but not the background 😂😂
lol thank you? 😂
@@toptrims I meant the background with paper. I truly appreciated the information
No worries, grateful for your feedback!
My 2023 Rav4 prime came in a with shower option: in the rain it will pour water next to the center light
Oh no! Hopefully that is covered under warranty!
It needs at least 150 miles of electric range or just use a small charging engine.
That would be a nice setup, it will be interesting to see if they head more in that direction or just focus on full electric. Thanks!
This channel is going to be my favorite!🤌

Overpriced, better to buy Lexus UX instead!
Much nicer vehicle, just a sacrifice on interior space
