Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! We hope you enjoyed this visit to Lake Somerville Rocky Creek Park. To see more about our experience, photos and all kinds of details on Rocky Creek, visit our Park Visitors' Guide: rvtexasyall.com/region-central-texas/campgrounds/rocky-creek-park . Thanks for watching and we'll see you Wednesday!
We used to camp at Rocky Creek years ago. The closed ramp was the camping area we loved to stay at. Hoping it returns to use soon. I was just looking at making reservations there. Funny how things go.......guess this was my sign to make the reservation! LOL Enjoyed the video.....as usual!! ❤
We have always LOVED Lake Somerville. I (Kat) went to school in Brenham, Blinn Jr. College, & pretty much lived at that lake. Jake and I have camped there a couple of times in our truck camper (“Gypsy Bella”) and we just camped at the Marina and campgrounds last wknd. (Our camping neighbor was bitten by a Copperhead so, a heads up to others that want to camp there. Be aware of the snakes!) All in all, beautiful campgrounds and lake! Great video and thanks for sharing! Safe travels and blessings for good health to y’all! ~ Jake & Kat
Hey Jake and Kat! Thanks for the warning on the snakes. It’s that time of year! Hope your neighbor is okay. Tom went to school at Blinn in Brenham also. Hope to cross paths with y’all one of these days.
Awesome, we've stayed at it's next store park Yegua Creek and enjoyed it. We've found most COE parks are great and with the federal passes cutting costs in half making it even better and affordable for retired folks.
If you have a senior pass, COE camping is half price. Some real gems if you look for them. We have a COE campground book which is very helpful. We haven't visited one that we didn't like.
great trip so far our 3rd stop we are in pa yesterday traveled from New Hampshire long drive [to long at 7 plus hrs ] but worth it we woke up to temp in the 70s and clear next thing we will get is an r v gps and a tire p m s we will hopefully have our house sold soon
Glad y'all are having fun, Allan! And happy to hear you found temps in the 70s! 😮 Nice! As a starting point for your research: We've used a TireMinder TPMS for years and really like it: amzn.to/30g3LGy . For the last year or so, we've been using this Garmin RV GPS: amzn.to/32ksRH7 . We like it.
Great video.Really huge sites. I ewill have to put it on my list of places to camp. Another hidden gem you should check out is South Holiday Park, Pearl Ranch Road, Fort Worth, TX. This is anouther COE park and close to FW. There arn't many good places close to FW.
Went to Lake Somerville back in the 70's and really enjoyed it. Did some fishing and camping. My step-dad had a camper in the bed of his truck. It was air conditioned and so it was enjoyable in the summer. Brought our dogs and cats with us.
This is a real beautiful spot! I love the green moss that hangs from the trees, as a Hawaii guy, I am not used to seeing that stuff. I could watch that sunset and listen the birds all day. Wow, so much fun
Y'll review of parks are a wonder specially enjoy your moments of wildlife and all their sounds. I think people these days fail to just stop and take in the wonder of life. Excellent job Y'll
You guys are really doing a great job by highlighting all the camping and recreational options in the state of Texas. Keep up the good work....it is very enjoyable and informative.
Lol Debbie! We spent all last summer out of Texas. Yellowstone NP had 30 something degree nights in August! And Wow... did we have a great summer! Here’s a link to our National Park vids in case you missed them: ruclips.net/p/PL3vGBOkcBm2UL8jYSpVgNMnLKfCbO-k3z Bucketlist places for sure!
Been there several times. Great views, would love to see you two cover the blue bonnet festival in Chappel Hill. Also, try out Tim's Ford state park, that way I could visit y'all. God Bless!
Thanks for the suggestions Todd! The Chappel Hill Bluebonnet Festival is definitely on our list to do. And we just added Tim's Ford SP to our list of places to go. Appreciate it!
Great video that brought back childhood memories. As a kid that’s where we camped along with overlook park. I actually learned how to ski on that lake and caught many crappie. If you want a free week of camping just one hour east of you in tomball try the spring creek park out. They have nice level cement pads, 50amp, showers and some nice trails. I enjoy driving through it every day and talking to some of the campers. Did I mention it was free.
Love hearing about your childhood memories, Nathan. Thanks for the tip on the Tomball park. We've been meaning to get over that way to check it out. Sounds awesome!
Good Morning Y'all ☕️! Looked like Star was walking point to be on snake watch! What a beautiful piece of nature Rocky Creek Park is! Be careful in the Texas heat this week! Yesterday, I saw a meme of a plastic kayak in the back of pickup that was melted over the tailgate, its that hot 😂! Hopefully, you had/have a chance to stop at Royers in Round Top to get good grub! Stay safe and travel safe! 😷🦅🎣⭐️
Thanks Ben! We're definitely trying to stay in shady spots for a while! Thanks for the tip on Royers. We'll have to look for it next time we're over that way.
Good morning, Tom & Staci hope you're having a wonderful day. As I was watching your video I was thinking to myself wow! it's been a year and a month now that I've been following you guys on you-tube. I just recently started watching you guys on face book too. As long as you keep making videos I'll keep watching. :)
You might pull up the satellite view of the park on Google maps and then compare it to the park map to see which ones are more shaded. We also have more info on Rocky Creek here: rvtexasyall.com/region-central-texas/campgrounds/rocky-creek-park

Thanks Susan!
Oh no....you’ve discovered the best kept RV secret: COE Parks! 😯
Lol Jim! Yes we have.
Nice overview of the park. I'll add it to the list.
Enjoy Christine!
A bench is an invitation to sit for a selfie! We just love finding a spot to rest a moment and check the views. This may be our next outing!!
Great idea!

Have a great trip! We were really surprised by how few folks were there during the week.

That would be fun to meet y’all! We could do a combined comparison on y’all’s Class A to our Truck Camper! 😂 😂

Star looked like she was watching the sunrise, sitting there all regal. Then she damn near pulls Stacey across that bridge, hilarious. Jayman...
Star is definitely large and in charge. Just ask her, she’ll tell you. 😂

Awesome! Safe travels!
I’m waiting until they fix flag pond right next to it it’s a great place for when water level is controlled correctly
Hopefully that will happen soon.
Great video
Thanks!

We agree Darisan! It is a relaxing park.
Awesome video! That sunrise was beautiful and the "sights and sound" footage lowered my heart rate 😃. Really enjoying this park series of videos.
So glad you enjoyed it. It was definitely a relaxing experience for us. A lot more park videos on the way!

Another GREAT video. Loved the sun rise just beautiful.
Thanks Brent Murray
Glad you enjoyed it Brent! Thanks so much for watching.
Suggestion: Put up a map of Texas (or the USA) with a star or logo where you are in this video.
Great suggestion Ken. We're working on exactly how we want to work something like that in. Thanks!
Beautiful Park good hiking and good fishing
We agree Mike. We didn't fish here this time... definitely next time.
Love the wildlife and that gorgeous sunrise intro y'all! 🌅🦌🐦🦅
Thanks Tom! They were fun to watch.
Love moss covered trees! I can't believe you are still in Texas..it is sooooo hot. I want an RV so I can leave this inferno during the summer.

Thanks for the tour. There seem to be a lot of empty sites.
Thanks Don. We think that a lot of folks don't realize that the park is open after the last flood closure.

Are there some campsites that have shade? Could you give some numbers? Thanks.
There are some sites that have shade in the main camping area. We didn't make note of numbers.
:-)))) :-))))
