Hahaha! Man I know what you mean. Try reading the LYFT Instruction Manual (4 the 1st Time) up in the Basket while the nervous boss (who rented it) is watching you on surveillance cam on the job site.
Hahaha! Had a quick *De* *Ja* *Vu* of you running over to Gas Station with your 2 Gallon plastic gas can to help "bail" the workers stuck up high in their basket. _Has this happened to me?_ _....SSsshhhh_
I use to paint 747, dc10s, dc9,s ... anyway airplanes in these, not unusual to spray a dc9 by myself ,driving and spraying at the same time. Would take a jgl 62 footer behind the tail of 747 up all the way and boom up all the climb the basket and start on the top of the tail. Used 80 footers to change the light bulbs in the ceiling of the hangers. This was in the 90s. Fun to watch these videos
This is a great video I was at work one time it took 6 guys to figure out why the machine wouldn’t let us drive it’s cause the basket was on the wrong side lmao 😂
@@gearheadzequipmentsales Does that mean all 4 wheels are able to steer and turn or must you always keep the basket in the rear behind the big grey dome unit?
@@designertjp-utube only 2 of the wheels turn. You can technically drive the machine with the basket on either side.. but one way will be going backwards. So you'll have to hold down a switch which tells the machine you know you're driving it backwards.
Great tutorial very good explaining on how to drive the only thing you forgot is to use your harness safety belt before entering the boom lift basket other than that nice well explain video tutorial
Excellent video. Thought I'd trim a tall tree in my backyard (large, dying limb hanging directly over my house) instead of paying tree cutting service.
Hi sir, I past my course a few days ago, I'm a scaffolder so I'm not scared of heights but.. On the cherry picker I have to use for me job does make me abit shakey because I'm not used to the floor below me moving 😂, my question is can one of these tip if there is no weight on them apart from me if fully extended?
No, the machine has an oscillating axle that automatically stabilizes just like vehicle does off-road. And if it gets on a surface that is to steep then the machine will not allow you to use all the functions. It basically tries to keep you as safe as possible.
Great question! For the 60' lift.... you can get about 50' of horizontal reach when the basket is at 25'. If you rent a 40' lift, you can get about 30' of horizontal reach when the basket is at 25'
Great video. Will one of these lifts drive down a somewhat steep hill? Need to trim trees which are on level ground at water's edge but to get there is about 36% grade (20 degree angle).
Hey Justin, great question. Yes they will drive on a 45 degree slope. However, to get full functionality out of the boom, you will want to be on level ground once it's time to go up in the air. P.S. They are 4WD but i would make sure you have proper traction on the slope before driving down or up it. Any loose dirt or mud could cause a BIG problem.
All my controls work from ground, but from basket only drive and boom up, down and rote works. All other controls don’t function. Boom out rotate basket.etc. What could it be?
Renting one of these for tree trimming. So can I lift myself up into the air and then turn the machine off once I get to where I need to be? Then I can saw off my limbs and then turn it back on to move to another spot?
When you’re doing the aerial lift training they teach you to lower it before moving it from one spot to another, as it is the easiest way to tilt it, and if it comes down, you’re coming down with it, which can cause lots of damage to property and it can be fatal
I did my course today and two of us were up well about building height and extended and we had to drive across the car park and navigate around cones from that height/extension....I've never even been in one until today so it was a little bit nervy up there
Just make sure you don't leave your cell phone in your truck for when you're up in the basket and you shut it down to work and the damn thing wont start to get you back on the ground.🤬
Is there no need to use the glow plugs before starting? Do they have them on these machines? I just passed my 1a, 3a and 3b but they were all electric machines.
This boom is located in South Carolina and was filmed in the summer so I didn't use them here. We rarely need to use them, but they are on the machines if needed. Electric machines are very similar as I'm sure you know. If you can operate electric, you would do great on these Diesels too!
Not ONE mention of body harness. No mention of pre-inspection. No mention of the dangers involved and how EASY it is to get in trouble on a boom lift. No mention of training or safety. I hope no one sees this video and attempts to operate a lift. Yikes!
3 years out, and still helping people. 👍🏻
Needed a refresher course not infront of the boys at work. Thanks for the video brother. Much appreciated
You are very welcome! Glad it helped!

This is professional instructor, clear and easy to explain , obviously the harness optional everybody knows, thanks !
I'm an accountant but there are people next to our building using this thing and I've been wondering how it operates. Thanks for this!
Hahaha! Had a quick *De* *Ja* *Vu* of you running over to Gas Station with your 2 Gallon plastic gas can to help "bail" the workers stuck up high in their basket.

great tutorial, quick and painless, certified in 6 minutes!
🤣
Thanks for this, brother. Been needing this to freshen up again
Great vid. Helped me refresh after a year of not using one.
Im a new bee going to start working on frac work & on manlifts , this video help me alot brother thank you , from the valley 👍
Thank you for this video! Getting ready for my practical test for my aerial lift permit😃
That's exactly why I'm here lol I go for mine next month. Hope you passed!
@@desramps3324 Yes I passed, thanks ✌😃
Oops! An Aerial Lift Permit? Where do I look for such a LYFT Safety Center in Los Angeles? I know it ain't the DMV.

This was awesome I was looking to buying one of these
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. We also sell them!
Haulotte is better
This is a great video I was at work one time it took 6 guys to figure out why the machine wouldn’t let us drive it’s cause the basket was on the wrong side lmao 😂
Haha! It happens to everyone... Glad you enjoyed the video!! Hopefully it saves people some time on the job

I gotta so some painting work tomorrow so i needed some refreshing since last time i operated this

Well... Now that you mentioned it, is there a LYFT *Pee* *Bottle* I can purchase at Home Depot?
Bro
Thanks your video save my time.
Great Video!
Well explained!
thanks Antonio! We appreciate the great feedback!
Excellent video. Thought I'd trim a tall tree in my backyard (large, dying limb hanging directly over my house) instead of paying tree cutting service.
I feel confident to teach the lead tech toady, he seems insecure about operating this lift and is late to the job site. This video is a lifesaver
Glad to hear that! Thanks for the feedback
Thank you for the great feedback!
Thank you so much I learned a lot from you and I want to drive It
Helped me out today thank u
Great refresher!!!
Thx dude this was very useful
Thanks that helped

I was hoping to find out what the top left (ground controls) toggle was for. The picture looks similar to the turtle / rabbit toggle.
where can find this thing to put in my chevy van
Great help!
Thanks so much for this I appreciate you
Thanks Robert. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks! very useful
Thanks Kevin! I appreciate the positive feedback!
No problem, I just rented a Boom lift for Friday. This will be my first time operating it.
I'm a little surprised that u didn't tell anyone that they should have a harness to make sure u don't get thrown out of the bucket
harnesses are important but this is an operational video. thanks for your input
Is there a process for proper stabilization since there are no put riggers
No, the machine has an oscillating axle that automatically stabilizes just like vehicle does off-road. And if it gets on a surface that is to steep then the machine will not allow you to use all the functions. It basically tries to keep you as safe as possible.
I'm a painting contractor and I'm looking to rent one of these, how far out can it reach at least 25 ft high that it's safe?
Great question!
For the 60' lift.... you can get about 50' of horizontal reach when the basket is at 25'.
If you rent a 40' lift, you can get about 30' of horizontal reach when the basket is at 25'
My OSHA manual says inspect for rust and wear and dont use if found. O_O
I have a friend that has this equipment but he leaves his basket above the ground is that bad for the machine
Nope, that's no problem. that is how we store them as well
Superb 😊

I lied on my resume. Thank you🙏
haha, happy to help!

could just be bad switches in the basket controls. Have you looked into that? If not, let me know. I could have our mechanic give you some other ideas
Thanks God bless ❤
Very well
Can you rotate the turret from inside the basket??
yep
Renting one of these for tree trimming. So can I lift myself up into the air and then turn the machine off once I get to where I need to be? Then I can saw off my limbs and then turn it back on to move to another spot?
Yes, certainly
Thanks bro..
I am perfect operator
The one thing you forgot to mention is to start moving step on the pedal and pull the triggers up and out 😂
I'm going on a high speed chase in one of those
Isn’t there a button you have to push when it’s not level. I know it has to be in turtle mode and some override button.
Any vecancy tell me
where's your harness little buster!?
I know apreting any vacancy
🙏👍
does drive mode work when the boom is fully extended 60ft???
You can go very slow when the boom is extended but I would not recommend it
When you’re doing the aerial lift training they teach you to lower it before moving it from one spot to another, as it is the easiest way to tilt it, and if it comes down, you’re coming down with it, which can cause lots of damage to property and it can be fatal

I would be happy to sell you one
Just hear so I can say I had one year experience cherry picking 😂
Just another video showing how far the machine does not go.....
If you have to watch a video to run one of these than you don't need to be on one.
For refreshers yes you should
