Thanks again for stressing the importance of roof inspection and maintenance. Having been full time for several years in many RV parks, I can count on one hand the number of owners who have done any roof maintenance. Too many folks clean their roof with a pressure washer and seem to think that's enough.
Great video. Thanks again. I have a 2005 Tiffin Phaeton and I've learned from your videos not to use Dicor. You suggested Nuflex 311 but I've learned from my travels Tiffin Uses something called CSL Silicone which they sell at their store in Red Bay. Anyway.. Always looking forward to your videos, keep up the great work!
I’ve been bingeing your videos, and there’s so much to learn!! I watched the Winnebago Class C roof with no supports and that blew my mind how terribly that was built. However, I’d love to know your thoughts on the roof construction of other class C rigs, including Jayco, Entegra, Thor, etc. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing everything anyone would ever need to know to own and maintain an RV. 🙂
Tiffins are sweet! Do you know when they switched to the style roof like Winnebago has it, covering the rounded edges too? My wife and I are in the market and are considering a 2007 34ft Allegro Bay.
Nice tour! E Big RV show in Hershey Pa. in September. Ever been there? It’s huge! Maybe a good excuse for a vacation. Maybe even drive something back. Cheers!
Thanks for the video. I wish I lived in your area so you could inspect my 2006 Winnebago Access. The service options out here in northern VA are limited.
Great video thanks, I have a 2013 Allegro Open Road 32CA is there any something particular to double-check on my rig ? Any advise ? And about the roof construction on this year ? Thank you very much, I live in Canada, I wish I would be close from your facility, I would definitely go service. Thanks again
We have a 2005 Tiffin Phaeton in excellent condition. Today while cleaning and waxing the roof I noticed the awning wind sensor was leaning. It had broke completely from it's base, plastic dry rotted and crumbled. We never use auto sense anyway but now there's a hole with the cable in it obviously letting water in. What's the best way to seal this completely and permanently? Also what's a temporary fix till we can do the permanent one?
Thank you for all the great information about the roof and which product to use and not use! PS please no vertical video we like to watch on the television
We have been enjoying your videos both for the technical content and the subtle humor! We do have a question... Our new to us 2000 Monaco Windsor with the fully fiberglass roof (bodywork seamless endcaps), what is the best lap sealant for the openings and the shower skylight. We've watched many of the roof videos and the owner's manual suggest a sealant from a company no longer in business (Dolphin 7547 Lo Thix UVR ElasitSeal). Thanks in advance!!
Do you have any videos on how to put A front cap back in place on A fifth wheel? I took my fifth wheel down A road no fifth wheel should never have been on. by accident. After we got back home I noticed my front fiberglass front cap was separating. It had moved far enough that I could see the none of the screws in the trim were holding the cap on. It seems like it was only being pinched under the trim holding it in place. The only place the cap seemed to be screwed was under the nose of the cap. I want to repair it myself and was looking for some suggestions. I did work for three motorcoach companies and helped put caps on. But just helped lift them. But I'm sure they made sure the cap was screwed to the coach.
Awesome thanks brother… funny you talked about the awning fabric… drove away with our 2007 Tiffin with the awning closed, but the fabric gave way and down came the arms… time for new fabric… any recommendations?
Hi there, does the Geocel Proflex stick to the Winnebago black silicone type caulk? I have a 2015 Winnebago Sightseer that has that black self leveling silicone type sealant. If not Proflex, what else can I use to go over the top of it if there are cracks in the caulk or do I have to remove the old caulk 1st? I realize the proflex is not self leveling, but just need something to cover over a few small cracks in the caulk. Been watching your videos for a long time...thank you!
Thanks for the reply. Welp, that's a bummer for small possibly superficial cracks. So nothing, not even a silicone product, will stick to that black silicone Winnebago uses?
Thanks for the tour James. Happy trails!
Thanks for watching! :)
"UV gets intensified in water"... It's insights like this that makes your channel worth watching thanks James!
Hey, Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks James... always learn new things, like the transition of roof designs. Important details when you are searching for used DP coaches.
Hey glad it helps you
It’s gotta be tough to work as hard as you do and still put out videos. Thanks for the effort
I do my best but yes its ton of work
I appreciate any videos you have time to do. Stay safe and healthy Sir.
Hey Thanks!
Super glad to see another roof inspection. Good looking coach.
More to come! Always lol
👍👍 Pretty good for 15 year old RV. Also it's reassuring when James inspect.
I've inspected 2 or 3 over the years :)

It's very important, and yet no one listens lol
Thank you for another informative video. You just got to love a Tiffin

Note to self -adding more sealant increases bathtub effect.
It's always good to know. Sometimes more is just more

I go over the roof construction on every unit I replace the roof on
And thanks!

Thanks for the view. My 06 Damon roof is still in great shape, and it's not even Fiberglas.
That's awesome to hear
Nice tour!

It’s huge!
Maybe a good excuse for a vacation.

Ive never been to PA. It's a bit of a trek for me
@@AZExpert You're not missing anything..

I'm sure there are mobile techs out there

You could always lay down. Relax a little. When I upload video clips from other platforms they require vertical video.

You rock that hat brother 👍 and where did you find such a huge dog ?
Thanks! I should have started wearing a hat much earlier in my career
So what you’re saying is the Dicor is not a quality sealant? When should you use Dicor or when should you not use it?
So we just bought a 2006 Fleetwood American Revolution LE, how the heck do you know if you have Dicor or newflex 311?
Yeah James I like tiffins too that's what I'm looking for I was into the country coaches but I think I'm going to go with a tiffin allegro
Tiffin is a great brand
Can you use 303 uv protectant on our Tiffin 2015 33aa fiberglass roof?
Thanks for the great, detailed videos.
looks like it can, but always read the labels.
Can you recommend a wax that has Uv protection I can apply to my roof ? Do they make one that’s applied by a brush on the roof ?
Yeah I said a wash with a wax included. Whatever brand you want

They are built like garbage--I do have one. I did it on a tahoe a few weeks back, go check it out.
More Roofs !!
Thank you!

Any awning repair company--they make generic replacements.
@@AZExpert thanks!
Hey James, thanks again for solid insight. What type of sikaflex do you use 221, 298, 251 or other? Thanks again, really appreciate all the help.
I recommend NuFlex 311

Have u done any about Palomino slide on campers ? I have a roof leak and can't find it .. hi from Australia
Sorry No
@@AZExpert thanks for the reply will keep looking
What do you use to seal a fiberglass roof 🤔?
Wash and wax
Can 311 adhere to TPO of Rubber membranes?
It is not recommended for either of those
What was the issue with the slide????
I wasnt there to fix the slide
Do any of the coaches have metal roofs
Not these. Some Bus conversions have them
@@AZExpert Thanks
That sink in the bedroom is weird 🤔
They need like 5 more sinks
@@AZExpert 😂😂😂
Hi James. Great video. Would it be possible to check my coach?
Right now my plate is full, Richard. I do appreciate the offer though!
Like,like,like
Thanks for watching! :)
I guess The older ones were made better. 1998
Every year has it's issues. Too many factors to include--where it was stored, was it maintained, etc.
Don’t work toooo hard!
I can't stop once I start, it stings.
