    Will this really helped. I pulled a muscle while exercising one morning and have been in pain from my glutes to my shin on both sides. I did this and felt relief. I’ll be doing this lot.

    Really intriguing, Will. I've heard of nerve flossing, but never for the sciatic nerve. My hamstrings have been tight my entire life. I thought the Romanian dead lifts would help, but it hasn't made a difference (although I assume they are good for the glutes). I will definitely give this a try. Thanks so much!

    How do you know if it’s nerve or muscle tightness?

    • @Mr.Martini549
      @Mr.Martini549 11 дней назад +9

      If you’re stretching your muscles and it doesn’t feel better or it actually feels worse, it’s probably nerve tightness. One thing Will did not mention. When stretching a major muscle one way you must stretch the opposing muscle as well. If you stretch your hamstrings follow it up by stretching your quads as well. Hope this helps.

    Gosh, this makes so much sense to me!! Finally, after all these years. I re-injured my back in 2004, causing a horrid disc herniation that pressed on so many nerves. I’ve had sciatic issues ever since. Now to figure out how to adjust this since I have osteoporosis, I need to see if this movement is ok for me.

    How is ist possible that the sciatic nerve (which origins in the lumbar spine) should positively be affected by bending or stretching your neck? In the video your thoracic spine does not seem to move. So where is the Link?

      Nope. This can be quite uncomfortable for the neck. You can also do the same nerve floss in a sitting position. Much gentler on the neck. Just do a search on RUclips. Good luck.

    Hello Will, from your explanation about the sciatic nerve, this could also affect tightness in the calve? I had an accident november 5th 2025 in which I hurt my knee (had tears in two tendons (?) After 10 weeks I still can’t stretch my knee fully. When I walk it feels my injured leg is shorter than the other one. This causes back pain on that knee side and hip pain on healthy side. I also noticed that my calve tendon feels much shorter (especially when I get up after sleeping) and so far doesn’t get better with stretching.
    My experience and your explanation seem to point to Sciatic nerve tightness?
    I enjoy your videos very much! I was drawn to them because I am 50+ THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
