  • The Emerald Australian Rainbowfish (Glossolepis wanamensi) has been in the hobby for some time -- only it wasn't exactly what we thought. It turns out, the strain most, if not all ,U.S. hobbyists kept was really a hybrid. In this Fincast John shows you some juvenile Emeralds, while Shelby Bush of aquarium wholesaler Segrest Farms talks about the lengths fish farmers have gone to in order to produce the pure, original strain of this fish. Learn how to keep the Emerald Rainbowfish and see great images of the fish at about 3" in length.

I've got 3 of them, several months ago from Seacrest farms, and they're just starting to flash the colors, very nice!

Probably not.... but it would be hard to prove for certain.
