- More than two billion people lack adequate access to essential medical products, often due to challenging terrain and gaps in infrastructure. Because of this, over 2.9 million children under age five die every year. And up to 150,000 pregnancy-related deaths could be avoided each year if mothers had reliable access to safe blood.
Through a partnership with the Government of Rwanda, Zipline will deliver all blood products for twenty hospitals and health centers starting this summer, improving access to healthcare for millions of Rwandans.

I've just come across this and cannot believe how NO ONE is talking about this?! I guess because it isn't happening in a Western country, it's not worth reporting on? This is fantastic and it could help relieve medical transportation in any country. This would be incredibly handy in parts of the UK and many other countries in the world.

This is a really interesting concept. Great job on executing this! Why did you use airplane style drones as opposed to the quad-copter kind? I assume it's because of flight range.

What happens to the parachutes if it's windy?
The vehicle surveys the wind at the delivery site before dropping the payload to account for the wind in the final package landing location. For example, if there is wind from the north, the vehicle will release further north than the delivery target to the package with parachute will drift in the wind to the target.
