Welcome back to the Dawg House everybody, or should I say welcome to the barn house! My wife and I are still making this place feel like home, but I'm excited to give y'all a tour and share some of the unique features that this place has.

Really appreciate the original guy building this house.
That’s a Fabcrete structure. My dad built house in Kerrville, Tx. Styrofoam block with rebar & concrete poured in it. 120mph wind proof. Very very energy efficient. Might want to rethink tearing it down.

Brantley someone is misleading you on the cost to keep all the concrete structure as i heard you make reference to high cost vs tearing it down. You would simply stick build interior and exterior to meet the "keeping up with the Jones look" but inside you have a bunker house above ground. To me, you couldn't get a better solid structure to protect your assets, friends and family during disaster situations. When you tear it down you have a cost and i am certain that cost will include haul off which is charged by the ton. You should get some feedback from other legit builders

I’m homebuilder out in the area where he’s from. By the way, it looks in the video you can definitely continue on top of it with standard dimensional lumber. Hopefully he’s not too far along in the Demolition.

Likely u know better. I'd try to retain current structure & complete it under/with ordinary strength construction. Results would still be exceedingly stout i suppose. Just a hypothesis

God put you in that house for a reason! I would keep the solid structure and change the inside how you want it. Pray hard about it before you pull the trigger on demo. Doesn’t mean you have to finish the outside build how they intended.
That’s a badass ICF structure. You should try to keep it. There’s a lot of good ICF installers down that way
