I love the way she’s tuned here, she sounds so realistic, and you can hear her inhaling every time she pauses in between lines, it’s not too exaggerated either, you don’t notice till’ someone actively brings it up, and I love it!

It's good to keep in mind Miku V4x is still in beta, I do know that Miku does have a breathing feature but it's hard to use so maybe they'll fix that in the future? Although I prefer Meiko's verison because of how lively she sounds Miku's is smoother.
Meiko doesn't get enough love tbh. Her voice is just mellow enough to feel nice to listen to while still carrying enough emotion to really hit that sweet spot.

It's different, listening to Miku and Meiko. Almost as if you where to be listening to two different songs. I like hem equally. Miku is softer and more happy and cute, while Meiko is more fierce, powerfull, and just amazing. :)

The fact that people found this Meiko version worse than the original Miku upload (not V4 beta one) baffles me. Has nothing to do with the characters. Literally talking about voice quality, breathing implementations, realistic emotion, etc. I honestly like Miku's design, cutesy style, and songs 100% over Meiko, but this one was obviously waaaaay better for Meiko compared to the original choppy Miku upload. Makes me wonder if people will even appreciate actual quality use of vocaloid like what Michie M does with Miku's voice or if people are blind fanboys that don't really care about that stuff :(
Stroopis I think it's due to how this song is old, Miku's version was made in 2009 (which used her V2 voicebank) while Meiko's is made with an updated voice bank with better quality and was made more recently
You’re not alone; Luka and Meiko are my favorite female Vocaloids (Not counting Rin). I think people who are not complete miku fanboys overlook them because most people don’t know how to tune them for the type of the song that they’re featured in, I’ve heard some songs featuring Luka where she sounds amazing. I’ve also heard some songs and covers featuring Meiko although not as many as Luka, where she sounds amazing too. I especially liked how she sounded in wintry winds. I just really need more Luka and Meiko along with Kaito and the twins.

Well, the V2 Crypton vocaloids were made to sound "unnatural" (if that's how you put it lol). Miku, Luka, and the Kagamines we supposed to sound more like anime characters while other vocaloids were made to sound realistic (like VY1 and VY2). So if they sound "fake" or "unrealistic" to anyone, then CFM's doing a good job XD ((also I agree with you, MEIKO does sound realistsic.))

MEIKO was made to sound more professional and "human", while when they released Miku it wasn't really intended to sound like an actual realistic voice. Kind of like Kagamine Rin and Len. However, as you can see even though both are totally different they each have their charms with certain songs. That's what makes Vocaloid awesome :D

It's cool on how a lot of the Vocaloids are capable of singing the songs meant for specific ones, like with here: Miku may be able to sing this song more smoothly than Meiko can here (since it does kinda seem to "jump" in certain turns, even if ever-so-slightly)...but Meiko has more power in her singing that can add a lot more emotion and overall appeal in her singing (most-likely since she's considered an adult-like Vocaloid compared to Miku who's overall range is teen-like: she IS 15ish, Miku), mostly because she has a more definitive "pop" and "shift" when she sings different verses, putting more emphasis on them than Miku could. It's moreso an idea of which you want: a soft, smooth version with Miku singing it, or a much "edgier" version with Meiko; both have their appeal and each are unique, but they both convey the same message beautifully.
I love your comment. But we also have to factor in tuning styles and the ages of the voicebanks. This song utilizes Meiko's V3 power voicebank compared to the original song that seems like it uses the normal Miku V2 voicebank (or it may use some of Miku's softer appends like dark). Also comparing the tuning style of kyammi, who makes them sound more realistic and powerful, to the original producer, which I know little about. For the best comparison is to get the recent version of the voicebanks and give them to the same producer and see which one is better.

The fact that people found this Meiko version worse than the original Miku upload (not V4 beta one) baffles me. Has nothing to do with the characters.
Literally talking about voice quality, breathing implementations, realistic emotion, etc.
I honestly like Miku's design, cutesy style, and songs 100% over Meiko, but this one was obviously waaaaay better for Meiko compared to the original choppy Miku upload.
Makes me wonder if people will even appreciate actual quality use of vocaloid like what Michie M does with Miku's voice or if people are blind fanboys that don't really care about that stuff :(

Stroopis I think it's due to how this song is old, Miku's version was made in 2009 (which used her V2 voicebank) while Meiko's is made with an updated voice bank with better quality and was made more recently

You’re not alone; Luka and Meiko are my favorite female Vocaloids (Not counting Rin). I think people who are not complete miku fanboys overlook them because most people don’t know how to tune them for the type of the song that they’re featured in, I’ve heard some songs featuring Luka where she sounds amazing. I’ve also heard some songs and covers featuring Meiko although not as many as Luka, where she sounds amazing too. I especially liked how she sounded in wintry winds. I just really need more Luka and Meiko along with Kaito and the twins.

Well, the V2 Crypton vocaloids were made to sound "unnatural" (if that's how you put it lol). Miku, Luka, and the Kagamines we supposed to sound more like anime characters while other vocaloids were made to sound realistic (like VY1 and VY2). So if they sound "fake" or "unrealistic" to anyone, then CFM's doing a good job XD

The producer chose Miku sing the song originally, and the song was made years ago. The producer wanted to use Miku, so they did. Maybe they didn't own MEIKO, or they just thought that Miku was a better fit at the time. Either way, it shouldn't matter since there are covers that exist with other VOCALOIDs.

Did you hear Miku V4x and V4beta covers tho ? You can hear how much her VB was improved by comparing the V2 version with them. I love the three of them ! Meiko has a more realistic voice, while Miku V4 's ones are "smoother" is I can say ^^. If wish Meiko had a V4, it would have been amazing °w° !

Honestly, you're right. Meiko is really good and realistic while Miku sounds so squeaky (at least in my eyes). This is one of my favorite covers Meiko has been in.
MEIKO was made to sound more professional and "human", while when they released Miku it wasn't really intended to sound like an actual realistic voice. Kind of like Kagamine Rin and Len. However, as you can see even though both are totally different they each have their charms with certain songs. That's what makes Vocaloid awesome :D

Covers like this are really radiant! That and her cover of I wonder if you'll say your sorry (She's a full blown psychopath in that song!) Her power voice bank brings in the power! Get it? Cause she sounds powerful with her power voice bank? Okay, I'll stop now.
It's cool on how a lot of the Vocaloids are capable of singing the songs meant for specific ones, like with here: Miku may be able to sing this song more smoothly than Meiko can here (since it does kinda seem to "jump" in certain turns, even if ever-so-slightly)...but Meiko has more power in her singing that can add a lot more emotion and overall appeal in her singing (most-likely since she's considered an adult-like Vocaloid compared to Miku who's overall range is teen-like: she IS 15ish, Miku), mostly because she has a more definitive "pop" and "shift" when she sings different verses, putting more emphasis on them than Miku could.
It's moreso an idea of which you want: a soft, smooth version with Miku singing it, or a much "edgier" version with Meiko; both have their appeal and each are unique, but they both convey the same message beautifully.
I love your comment. But we also have to factor in tuning styles and the ages of the voicebanks. This song utilizes Meiko's V3 power voicebank compared to the original song that seems like it uses the normal Miku V2 voicebank (or it may use some of Miku's softer appends like dark). Also comparing the tuning style of kyammi, who makes them sound more realistic and powerful, to the original producer, which I know little about. For the best comparison is to get the recent version of the voicebanks and give them to the same producer and see which one is better.

Is this Meiko's message to tell her fans that she's afraid of being forgotten about like the rest of the vocaloids due to hate, little support, lack of attention, and regognition? It's true considering that Crypton hates both her and Kaito and even treat Luka, Rin and Len slightly but significantly better than the two. I know that they all get attention, some more than others, but compared to Miku, they're lowkey insignificant dust particles waiting to be forgotten about and eventually, rot away.... I know that Meiko and Kaito both got V3's but still..... they need more attention than they get. Miku needs WAY less attention considering she RULES the industry, and has been for almost *10* years since her release date....
