I can not thank you enough for what you have taught me. I am a beginner my husband bought me a used Pelican neon green Bali SS 10 which I really love it fits me well or I fit it well, he modified it and put on a fin so it doesn't go in circles. I have never taken a physical lesson which could be helpful, but I can not imagine an instructor better then you. I have tried to implement every thing from wearing my life jacket always to working my knees and sitting with my back straight. I am nowhere close to your league, I'm more of a Marina's and Lakes women with 0 current LOL. My husband who's a stand up paddler is impressed with what I've learned from you. I started kayaking 6 mo ago, 4 mo ago I found you and have been a great fan. I am 59 yrs and have fallen in Love with kayaking I'm not one for on line comments but you have made a big difference in my world and I wanted to Thank you so much for everything.
Dan, can’t thank Y’all enough! You’re the reason I got into a cheap yak to try it. I’m in it and love it. And now, since I’ve been out about 10 times since May 2020 (Covid19 lockdown) love it and am looking for that Feel Free Juntos. We have Austin City Kayak outfitters here. The joy on your faces as y’all are out doing this? Unbelievably priceless! And I knew it. Because I’ve done it and felt that fun! I’ve had that exact same “yak” smile. Thanks @headwaterskayak Smiling my own “yak” smile, here in Texas. Cheers!
I just have to say.... You guys are Friggin Awesome!! I called your shop today and spoke with Matt, my steering handle had sheared on my 2020 Titan 12. I reached out to you because the nearest dealer to me was 2 states away in Connecticut.... I live on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I asked if I could purchase a spare from you, to keep on hand. Josh reached out to me within moments and said he would set the last one aside and I can purchase it on Tuesday when you re-open... That is Amazing customer service! Dan you and your crew are Awesome!! I wish you guys all the success and you have a East Coast Customer for life! Thanks again! Mac Foster
I've mentioned it in previous videos. Here is a man that owns a kayak business, advertising kayaks that he does not sell. Yet, he continuously refers to others as "ambassadors " of the sport. I would say that you sir, are the ambassador. Great video Dan. Once my piggy bank fills up and I upgrade from my Tamarack, a long road trip to Lodi needs to happen. Is there an In-n-Out near your store? 👍🍺🎣
Thanks Dan! Really enjoyed the video. Always good to see comparisons of kayaks priced under the $300 range. As you showed, doesn't matter what you paddle, just paddle and enjoy the scenery!
Hey there, just wanted to thank you for all the info, 40 years old new to kayaks. Learned so much and even teaching girlfriend that has been kayaking for years before met. Even used tie down method to help a couple that were confused in parking lot of Sportsman, told them to check your channel out. Even helping girls get how to get in and out, emergency remounting kayak like your boy was showing on the rear... awesome content! Defiantly hitting your shop up, when down south, or ordering "good" pattle from ya, support the local area... BTW, picked up a Jackson Riveria for $100 craigslist Bend, OR.... Such a blessing random purchase became quite a stress relief! Had no idea if it was a river, sea or lake kayak, thats how uninformed I was... Ha ha! Thanks again keep it up!
Just about to buy that Tamarak as my first yak and I am so excited. So many people put down those box store yaks but you look as them no different than any thing else and make a real review on them! THANK YOU! I live in southern Idaho and have 3 lakes, the snake river, and a million different streams and cannels within 20mins of my doorstep but can't affford much. I will say that though it is a cheap yak it is going to give me the ability to get out and see what most people can't! Love it!
I've said it before, I'll say it again... Certain big-box-store boats are a Godsend to small paddle shops. They're an excellent introduction to paddling, and often inspire neophytes to step up to a "real" boat. Many thanks to Ethan & yourself for doing these reviews. I believe that you two are providing a fantastic service in the furtherance of our sport!

Had a lifetime tamarack and used it twice a week for a whole summer. Bought a Cascade stadium seat from Costco and it felt like an Ascend kayak from Bass pro. Hey Dan, I have to say that your enthusiasm for the sport is more infectious than Covid 19! You are personally responsible for me spending money I really don't have, and I'm totally okay with it! Thanks for stoking a fire in me that I haven't felt in a long time ... I totally agree with Mre E ... you are THE ambassador of paddling!
One of the greatest inspirations ever, love the vids and the honesty, you inspired me to the point were you got me in to paddling and kayaking, keep it up.BTW very big fan of the Chanel.
Your enthusiasm and pure joy are wonderful. We just bought 2 "beginer" 12' kayaks. Looking foward to getting out and doing some paddling. You're proof positive you don't need to trick out to enjoy.
Exactly. The experience of being out there is what it’s all about. The craft is secondary. Obviously a good craft can make a difference in many cases, my point is to show just what a good time you can have in a basic kayak.
I am scared of the white water....any ! But I LOVE my future beach spirit 120..... which I have heard they don’t make any more. Wow! It was so cool to see that deer! We saw one once swimming up in the mountains of Tennessee, in Townsend. It was the first time I had ever seen that.

I've only kayaked a handful of times in my life; was thinking about buying one for the last 10 years but never did it. Finally went out and got a Lifetime Teton (Dick's Sporting Goods brother to the Tamarack/Pro) to fish from but also enjoy a little paddling here and there. This looks like a blast!
Awesome video Dan! When you get up to Eddyline, ask them how my Sandpiper 130 is coming along! ;) (Just kidding, I should actually be getting it late next week, fingers crossed!)
I've got an 11.5 Swifty. I got it because I wanted to bring my younger son along when my older son and I went paddling. I took the hatch cover off and set it down inside and put some pipe insulation on the hatch rim and made a back seat. As stable as it is it worked perfect for it. He loved riding along and now he's in Prodigy XS. I always got comments from people on the water when they saw my little guy back there in the rumble seat.

That Tamerack looked really good to me. I would be using a yak for bass fishing the shoreline cover and vegetation of a large COE lake. Maybe some smaller ponds too, no rivers though. Is that the angler navigator paddle blade? I wonder why BB doesn’t offer the high angle blade (which I believe is the angler navigator) in anything less than 230cm. You’ve mentioned yours is a custom 205cm, but really surprised 230cm is the shortest without going with the navigator low-angle. I bet a lot of people would be interested in this setup if it was more readily available.
Too small for my offshore island camping needs. Rivers? Yes, I paddled the Snail Shell Cave River. And underground elsewhere. I prefer to walk my boats to the Salish Sea or inland to dine with it at coastal cafe's with outside tables.
I am attempting the July kayaking challenge. To go every day of the month. I am over halfway there to completing it! If you like wildlife, check out my beaver and otter videos. The scariest wasn’t filmed.....when the buzzard came running out of that cave I was checking out. I was in the kayak on the river. It about gave me a heart attack!
I'm on year 3 with my Tammarack Angler and keep having to reseal it with silicone. The boat hardware is cheap and eventually pulls apart from the boat and creates openings where water gets in. It leaks and collect water in the hull which is a pain to drain out and makes it heavy, sluggish and dangerous. Every year it needs a new layer of silicone around all the fittings, rod holders, handle hardware, etc. Its not comfy to sit in for extended periods of time either. While a light and affordable boat, after a couple years you should upgrade...you'll have to unless you want to keep adding silicone and waterproofing material to the Tammarack. Decent starter boat, but it will degrade quickly. Light weight plastic hull cannot take a beating on rocks as well as the heavier rotomolded kayaks.
Try Lexel to seal after putting in new hardware. Also, lifetime has a pretty good (but sometimes slow) customer service link on their site. Send them pics of the part you need and they usually send out.
Had my swifty about 20 years now.... Run class threes few times a year and 2s every weekend through the summer. Perception will last you a lifetime. That tamarak is questionable.
You’re an inspiration to me Dan, your genuine positive attitude and personality are part of the reason I watch your videos.
Thanks man. I appreciate that.

And underground elsewhere. I prefer to walk my boats to the Salish Sea or inland to dine with it at
coastal cafe's with outside tables.
Has anyone paddled the emotion spitfire 9? It looks like a fun little kayak, under $400, has a 350lb capacity.
I’ve spent some time in it. It has a very loose stern which makes it a pain to go straight. The Tamarack is honestly a better platform for less $
Where is that tamarack pro video
Coming soon. Few more from my PNW roadtrip first.
👌
Thanks for the honest experienced review.
Agreed with Lexel! 👆
@@ethanebersold THanks, I'll check it out.
I wish kayaks were still this cheap
Had my swifty about 20 years now.... Run class threes few times a year and 2s every weekend through the summer. Perception will last you a lifetime. That tamarak is questionable.
Tamarack is a few seasons at best. But it gets folks in the game. I’m happy with that Swifty.
But you do not show how you get in the kayak or out or any thing like that!!!!
Try one of my other videos. I cover this is almost every review
The video was good enough, but the title is deceiving. That was the sorriest excuse for a review I have ever seen.
