I don't know. Mass hysteria can be a funny thing. Especially with a bunch of drunken Ozzies. Harris was found guilty of groping. And he was denied a retrial. I wonder why. He was found guilty by a jury. Not by a judge. Remember O.J. Simpson was found innocent by a jury. But guilty by a judge in the latter civil court. Later more people accused Harris, but he was not found guilty. And one of his groping cases was later overturned. According to Wikipedia.

Might have been worse now I expect!
Why did they do this, have i lost the story that ledd to it?
I was at that show. The whole day was weird. The vibe was sour from before lunch and fights were breaking out all day. If I recall the crowd was not reacting to him but the show itself. I think John English was on before him, and for reasons I dont recall his set was cut short, something like only 10 minutes of a 40 minute gig. Anyway after that no one was interested in listening to kids songs for an hour. After the show things were no better. There were running battles at the train stations and even on the trains
Real estate swindle.
Should've stuck to playing with his stylophone...
His popularity was waning in Aus long before the allegations!
Hasn't the world suffered enough after WW2 and the Rwanda genocide.
Can you guess what it is yet, your hand Rolf... Vile person
None of the girls liked drinking KB Lager anyway.
They knew.....
Do you think they pelted Rolf bcoz they knew what he really was?
No, they just thought he was shit - which he was.
@@ArmyJames I have just seen my own comment. I don't want to believe he was one
@trixiek942 Yes, that is why I find that strange. We all loved him back then
but just because your life counts for one big black zero and this man is a legend, don't show your ignorance by being jealous.@@ArmyJames
Oh dear.
The crowd had a corporate, out of the body time traveling experience, going forty odd years into the future and pelted him a few minutes later when they got back because they found that he had been sticking his Jake-the-peg-his-middle-extra leg where he shouldn't have been.
He went and didgeridid some didgeridoo's when they should have been didgeridon'ts.
Total BS I'm no fan of Ralf Harris but this was in 1979 it wasn't because of his indiscretions they were pelting every performer with champagne bottles no less, nasty shit if one of those hits you in the head can do a lot of damage
they knew
It's like they saw the future!
