An access point cannot obtain internet from a base router purely wirelessly. Hello I had a question, please help If i use the Access Point TP-LINK TL-WA801ND_V1 Wireless N300 And use an outdoor parabolic dish instead of access point antennas, to send the Wifi 2400 MHz frequency, how far can I receive the frequency 100% without loss of quality ???
The TP-LINK TL-WA801ND_V1 is a wireless access point designed for indoor use, and its antennas are optimized for general coverage within a limited range. By replacing the built-in antennas with an outdoor parabolic dish, you can potentially increase the range and focus the signal in a specific direction. Parabolic dishes are known for their ability to provide high-gain and long-range wireless connections. However, achieving a 100% signal without any loss of quality over a specific distance is challenging due to various factors, such as signal attenuation, interference, and environmental conditions. The exact range you can achieve will depend on the following: Transmit Power: The TP-LINK TL-WA801ND_V1 has a maximum transmit power of 20dBm (100mW) according to its specifications. It is worth noting that different regions might have legal restrictions on maximum transmit power. Parabolic Dish Gain: The gain of the parabolic dish will determine its ability to focus the signal and amplify it in a particular direction. Parabolic dishes can have gain values ranging from around 20dB to over 40dB, depending on their size and design. Line of Sight (LOS): The presence of obstacles such as buildings, trees, or other obstructions can significantly reduce the range and quality of the wireless signal. A clear line of sight between the transmitter (parabolic dish) and the receiver (your device) is generally desirable for optimal signal propagation. Environmental Factors: The quality of the wireless signal can be affected by environmental conditions like weather (rain, fog) and electromagnetic interference from other devices operating in the same frequency range. Given these considerations, it is challenging to provide an exact distance or guarantee 100% signal quality without conducting a detailed analysis of the specific environment. However, with a combination of a high-gain parabolic dish and the TP-LINK TL-WA801ND_V1 access point, you may be able to achieve longer distances compared to using the default antennas. It is recommended to consult with experts in wireless networking or conduct field tests in your specific environment to determine the achievable range and signal quality.
After doing this, internet working fine through the access point but unable to access the router settings( cant see the routers IP address, default IP not working). The original IP address of the base is showing even after connecting to the new router.
