Why did you use 192.168.2.1 for AP instead of MR DHCP Range or staticIP on the 192.168.0.x ?
I was skeptical but it worked. I skipped some steps as I didn't need this to be wireless, I just needed this to turn my router into a switch. Worked, very happy :)

Here you have advised to connect main router LAN to ap LAN. But in the tplink manual it suggests to connect main router LAN to ap WAN. Can someone kindly explain why there are two different suggestions and what difference does it make?

I think if you connect LAN to LAN, then Disable DHCP on AP Router and give it a fix IP 192.168.2.X and then it will work as AP, if you give to the SSID the same name as the Main Router then you will have kind of a Roaming function and only one network?

Maybe somethings missing in the video.. U can change ur channel, if ur primary router channel 1, in access point change into channel 10. .
His tutorial is wrong. For access point, you need to set the IP differently than what he did.
If your main router is 192.168.1.1 , you need to set your AP IP in LAN as 192.168.1.2
and disable DHCP.
You can find other guides explaining this.
@Nazi Reichtangle yes set the it to AP mode. Also inserted LAN cable into the yellow port. Not blue (WAN) port.
Go into your main router and then DHCP... make sure the IP it is giving out is from 192.168.10.20 to 192.168.10.200
It should not include the IP of your AP. Otherwise it can cause clashes.

Hi, when i disable dhcp server other phones can't obtain ip address. Why?
It because the ap router can't establish link with the main router, and since there's no DHCP on the ap router it can't establish the link with main router, it's that loop that keeps happening.

Horrible video. Didn't work for me. I have not been able to find a good video on how to turn a TP Link router into an access point. No one explains if your main router is connected to the computer or your access point router is the one connected to your computer. You all need to explain how to start from scratch. I will figure it out and make a better video.
