I travel for work and I’m in Virginia. We have a company hauling off contaminated dirt for us. One of the drivers has a slick 389 day cab but it’s got a paccar. Low and behold he tells me he watches your channel and has a C-15 and wants to use the rebuild kit you use. You have fans far and wide amigo. Keep up the good work!

I appreciate your time to educate people on my favorite engine. You maybe young, but your experience and knowledge of Cat engines is very impressive. I know you will always have work building these engines. It's the high quality and detail, which impress your customers, and your viewers. Just being honest from what I have seen. Not trying to blow smoke, I see quality in your work. Your blunt honesty is refreshing.

Reminds me of old times. I worked for Atlas Copco Wagner Mining Equipment Co. As a diesel mechanic at their plant in Portland , Oregon. Atlas Copco purchased Wagner from PacCar about 1990. One reason was to develop a large 3 axle heavy haul dump truck. So in the mid 90’s after looking at a Norwegian built light haul 3 axle truck they engineered from the ground up a 65 ton 3 axle truck named the full back. It wasn’t bad but for cost savings they went with a German made transverter assembly instead of a Allison equivalent. The difference was about 10,000.00 back then. The German made was as I call it the big Z . I can’t spell the name but it’s the big German company that builds transmissions and the spelling starts with a Z. The hole project was a money pit. It was plagued with a lot of engineering issues and Warrenty issues involved with a sales contract with the Staton Island garbage land fill. They finally sold the rights to the truck and technology to a undisclosed purchasers in the late 90’s. I believe it might of been Caterpillar but not sure. I’ve looked at some Cat trucks and I see a lot of the fullback in them. Their where some trucks that in the aftermarket people modified the power unit with a Allison transverter assembly and liked them. At Wagner my opinion was as is that they bit off more then they could chew. I relate it to building the space shuttle for the first time with the limited engineering capabilities at their disposal. So that’s my story on these big 3 axle trucks.

Who lets a piece of equipment get torn apart and dissected like that? They couldn't be playing with a full deck!

A lot of smaller and large operations frankenstein shit together good enough to get the job done. Hell the oil company I worked for was a multi-million dollar company and they still would run pulling rigs from the 1940s and 50s . They would strip everything down and rebuild everything on em the only thing that was original was the cab

It's just an old machine. They did all the math an decided it was not viable to fix the broken transmission, so they kept the rear end for spares and sold off the front end to another sucker. The Danish army did the same, so what was seamingly a complete machine/truck/tractor at the surplus auction was just a collection of worn out and broken parts.
