- We are moving right along on this backyard transformation and starting to get the roof built over top of the deck. You'll see how we set our ridge rafter, how we figure out the rafter length and how we get them installed. We are also moving on to installation of the deck boards and starting to build our outdoor kitchen on the open section of deck. This mega deck project is really starting to come together!

Been watching since 2020, the evolution admirable, my business wouldn't be what it is w/o discovering you champ!
I appreciate that my man!!! I’m honored if we could even be a small part of inspiration for you!!
Deck coming along beautiful team. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Thanks a lot mike!! A lot of details coming up on this one that have me really excited!
Let's Goooo!!! 🎉🎉
Got a lot of the bulk work done, time to start getting to the details!!!
Happy New Year, hope wife and kid are good!
Thanks buddy, everybody is on the mend here!!
Looking epic. It’s going to be an incredible deck.
Appreciate it my friend!! We’re really excited about some of the details we have going in here!
Good stuff!! HNY!🎉
Thank you my friend!!! Appreciate the support as always, hope you have an awesome 2023!!
Great intro!
Thanks buddy!!
Great work as always guys. 👍👍🏴🏴 Happy New Year
Great Video and looks like another epic build!! Happy New Year!!
Appreciate that Craig!! Happy new year to you as well!
Hope he pays Ant well. Guy is the soul of the business.
I do, and he is! We’d be lost without him
Love the teaching moments!
Thank you Tiffany!! We’re always trying to find the balance between the teachable moments and showing the jobsite banter haha
Can you do a more in depth explanation into rafters that includes HAP/heel height when determining ridge height? Or at least mention that it's an important part of the process? Might keep some DIY'ers from having to buy some extra rafter stock once they catch their error
I was trying to just explain finding rafter length and hopefully not make it too complicated, but knowing your HAP is also very important. Hopefully no one tries to cut their own rafters based on that little 1 minute clip alone lol
Next rafter video though I’ll dive in deeper and explain some more of the details!
Amazing! Any concern with walls spreading over time not having rafter ties or anything tying the top plate together?
Thanks a lot!! We do have collar ties going in here, but our architect didn’t spec any rafter ties in the lower third of the triangle
@@THEpremieroutdoor awesome! that’s exactly how we just built a porch - I have learned so much from you guys thanks for all the advice and work you put into these videos.

Really love your projects. I am looking for my backyard project. Do you work in Texas? (Katy area)
Thank you so much!! Unfortunately we only work in New Jersey
New camera guy? Merry Christmas
Yup! I’m finally free of editing!!
Can you talk more about drainage?
Certainly can!
No Sean? One day and there's a roof. Haha
It’s become apparent that I am just a hinderance 🤣
It got sooo cold
Got brutal for that one week!!
Why would you drill for a drain in the floor joist? This weakens the integrity of the support. Why not use PVC hangers/clamps on the bottom?
We needed every inch of elevation to keep this a gravity drain and not add a pump, the joists are oversized in this location anyway
Did she say “Jose”?.. and is he legal ?
