I signed up for Brendan Williams’s 21 Day Photoshop Expert. I missed the discount period of $67.00. However, upon my request, Brendan was very gracious to offer me the same discount. Fabulous material, easy to learn, clear and concise explanation, step-by-step instructions, and everything you need to know about Photoshop. Thank you thank you.
Hey Brendan - Thank you for the video! I am new to PS and it was very helpful .. If I may, I would like to offer one piece of constructive criticism .. In the 1st few steps you had showed us how to change the colors in the individual squares .. It took all of 12 seconds for you to do it but it took me 17 rewatches of that portion and about 45 minutes to realize that I actually had to click on the actual part to select it as opposed to the overall layer. This may be obvious to someone with a little experience, but as a newly, It would have been helpful if you had stated this. I find that a lot of RUclipsrs do this where 1 tiny piece of crucial information is assumed and it really causes a lot of wasted time. Again - Thank you for the video! In the end I was able to do exactly what I needed and I really appreciate the help!
Hi Brendan, Thank you for your free templates. I'm so happy to have received them. How can I create a 10 by 8 template if I have 6 pictures. Keep up the great work you are doing.
Hello Brendan. Thank you for the informative video. I am trying to create a photo collage using photoshop with ~150 images and ask if this can be arranged automatically to fill the grid without white border between the images. Thank you in advance. Neil
Just watched this again - iots just excellent - I bought your collage pack and between them and this video I now have some excellent prints of so many images collaged. Least I can do is thank you again for this tutorial. :)
I am at a loss. I have the 9 space template but nothing comes out as shown on the video. I have never done well with these types of instructions anyway.
It seems that I can't get the images and the template together as seen in the video (12:44). I wonder what I'm missing, given your directions are very explicit and easy to follow. I was so close to completing this and now I am at a dead end. Appreciate your help.
I can't get past the first line of the grid. I have the boxes all the same color and when I go to change the colors even with shape 2 or shape 3 selected, when I click on alt + delete it fills the entire background to the same color. I have reviewed and retried it more times than I can count. Nothing I try will work. I also can't see my Shape 2 outlined in dotted lines like on yours even though that layer is selected.
By the sounds of it, that's because your foreground color has not been changed from your initial fill color. You are likely changing your background color, which is that case you should press Control/Command + Delete. This can happen in the color palette if the background color is selected instead of the foreground. Otherwise, change the foreground color via the top colored square (foreground color) found at the bottom of your toolbar. If you don't see the dotted lines (indicating a selection) it's because no selection has been made. Make sure to hold Command/Control and click on the layer thumbnail. You must click on the thumbnail or else this will not work. Once you see the dotted lines indicating the selection around the shape, go through either of the above suggestions to fill the selection with your foreground or background color. Hope that helps! Cheers.
Hello Brendan, great video, thank you for the fab templates. I'm doing something wrong but can't figure it out? im trying to use one of your templates but when I move the images about the collage (they are smart objects and I have the clipping mask ticked) but they don't seem to recognise the templates and I end up moving the squares around rather than the image I want which its highlighted? I hope this makes sense?? Any feedback would be brilliant. Thankyou
Hmm I’m not sure whats going on. All you have to do it place an image above the shape layer you want it to be in, then add a clipping mask to your image layer. Then to reposition the image, use the Move Tool, make sure the image layer is selected, and it will move separately from the shape.
Every step in this process works like a dream, but for some reason, I cannot grab my grouped images and drag and drop them into the template tab. Nothing happens. I just end up doing the images one by one in Embed. Wish I could figure this step out! Any ideas? I do have the current/upgraded photoshop version. Thanks again for the tutorial and templates!
If you drag and drop multiple photos you just have to commit to each photo by pressing the checkmark so the next one will load. You could also press enter instead. This video was using PS 2021 but it's the same in PS 2022. Alternatively you could use the load files into stack feature
I really like your videos and everything looks so easy but when I have to do it on my PC and on my photoshop as just following all the steps - it never looks the same. First issue is - I am not able to select and drag all the layers in the group, so I did it one by one. The other issue is when I create a new line actually the layer is called 'Shape' instead of 'Line' and I don't see any line( not sure if I did something in my setting before which causes that issue) I watched your video for the lines in case I missed something but everything looks the same-just no idea why is that. thank you in advance.
Well if you still have a line that's showing up then that's nothing to worry about. That might have been something that was changed from PS 2021 which this video was recorded in, and the PS 2022 update you're likely using now.
you gloss over the entire resizing portion without explaining how you do it. You fit to screen and all of a sudden you have a box you can resize without showing it. Frustrating as hell man
I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're stuck on so here are a few things that might help. For fitting an entire image to the screen the shortcut in Command or Control + 0. If you want to resize any of your shapes, select the layer, grab the move tool (V), press Command or Control + T to transform them and adjust the transform box as needed. Hopefully that helps clear anything up for you!

Awesome video! Learned a lot! How would you do a collage if you want 12 images that are square in a square document?

Excellent, very well explained, thanks for sharing 😎😎😎
is there a way that you can make a template, upload one image and it will be applied in all boxes?
I am at a loss. I have the 9 space template but nothing comes out as shown on the video. I have never done well with these types of instructions anyway.

is it lightroom or just photoshop?
Super helpful! Thanks, Brendan!
This helped me learn so much about photoshop. Thank you!
When I place the pictured above each shape the pictures just stays in the same place (the middle of the file) even with the mask.

Having difficulty when it comes to moving the Group layer of images into the Collage file (12:06) in the video.
I found this quite difficult 😩 great tutorial though 🙏🏽
Sooooo-flippin-perb! Thank you :-)

Good job bro keep it up

I really like your videos and everything looks so easy but when I have to do it on my PC and on my photoshop as just following all the steps - it never looks the same.

thank you in advance.
I found the solution of the 1st issue - The 'shift' should be hold when moving
Well if you still have a line that's showing up then that's nothing to worry about. That might have been something that was changed from PS 2021 which this video was recorded in, and the PS 2022 update you're likely using now.
