Hey Tim, I just ordered my two row planter from Harris. Very nice people to deal with and I told Marybeth to let Jay know that this sale is a result of him being on Tractor Tim with Tim. Thanks again for doing this video
As always, it's a pleasure learning from someone that is both knowledgeable and passionate about their business. p.s. Geez, that's a heck of an Oliver tractor collection.
Enjoyed the video and thanks for taking us along. That's really nice he has a business recycling old planters. His Grandfathers Oliver collection was great. Liked to have spent a little more time looking at them. An Oliver 88 was the first tractor I ever plowed with Lol. Y'all take care and God bless.
Tim this bring back memories back in 68 when we to country I bought garden tractor thought we were farming made preparations for gardening went to dealer and ought a one row planter it had lots disks and had to chang geats so you could change for different crops wish I still had it just to look at God Bless PaK
How's she goin'? It's great to hear this story from a family guy running a successful family business. This is what your's and my country need a lot more of!!! Take care!!
Growing up on a dairy farm in NE WI, we seemed to run out of tractors when it was time to chop haylage. So we usually rented a local (1 mile away) dealer's Oliver 1655 or 1755 tractor. Mostly we used it for hauling wagons back & forth between the farm and the fields that were about 2 miles away. One large Massey chopping, Oliver & Massey hauling back & forth and the Case on the blower.
Congratulations on the "new" planter. You are gonna love it. I hope you still have some plans to restore the old A-C planter that you have. The old A-C may be a plate style but they planted many crops over the years. I need to restore mine back to original A-C colors. Whoever did the one the I have painted it GREEN.
We sold are old 2 row. It used to be a horse drawn unit grandpa turned into a 3pt unit. I loved to ride on the seat. Lots of fun especially when dad turned around (brake turns always) whip around good
Good stuff! Awesome episode Tim. I have a 1963 Oliver 770 that I use to work my field. The one and only auction I went to a few years ago had an old McCormick Deering 2 row planter that I bought for $250 and it works amazingly well. I use it to plant my field corn and soybeans. It's a lot of fun playing in the dirt. One of these days it might actually dry out enough to play.
These compact tractors have more attachments available for work and play than I dreamed of... I have a vision of sweet corn, hog roast, and compact tractors all having a great time lol.
i have a 2 row 71 flex planter John Deere plate planter. works great for sweet corn and green beans. just gotta match up the right planter plate better than my garden way planter always get a better stand of crops.
Great video Tim. After my dad passed away I rented the farm land out and traded an 8 row 7000 to jay for a new rhino shredder, so I guess my dads planter went to live on helping some smaller farmers.
There's a much better machine if your trying to attract deer. Asphalt paver. The love some black top. Especially in a rural area in the middle of the night. Add headlights to really get them coming in.
Had one jump out in front of me the other day... really glad I sprung the $$$ for the stickie tires & upgraded brakes... full ABS, but I did NOT hit Bambi!
The first thing I noticed is that the planter was already in your truck. But, how much does it weigh? I should plant your corn. I need the exercise, according to my doctor. Thanks for sharing. 😎😎😎😎
So what are you planting, peaches and cream? Silver Queen? Might be best to wait another couple weeks. I believe we can have a good frost as late as May 10th. I'm curious how big an area you're planning to seed...
Hey there!! I was there about a month ago! Even made an appointment to meet with that guy!! Had a terrible experience, he didn’t have time to even be there! We waited for a hour for him to show up? Nobody seemed interested in helping us!! After we had drove for 3 hours to meet with him that morning! We did look around! Never seen anything that he is talking about
After weeks of searching the net for a two row planter, I purchased a 7100 from Robin at J.O. Harris. She was super friendly and helpful. This video was what made my final decision. Thank you.
wow-now i am really jealous now! lol. now i need one of them. ha! someday maybe! is that planter I-Match compatible? if so then thats the cats me-ow for sure.
No. Too heavy. Anyway, I would not want two row, as that would plant in the tire tracks. I do not want to plant in the compacted area of the tire tracks.
That is awesome ! I would love to have one of these planters . Me and my family just started making some videos if would like to check us out ! I don't know if you remember me from are little chats on here or not .
What happens when all the folks that could recall Oliver Tractors die , will anyone want them or will they just sell cheap to some one who does not appreciate the history?

Nice planter! And Mr. Harris seems to be a very nice person to deal with. Glad to see you were in our part of the country! Thanks for the vid
Nice video for those who want to be small scale farmers. It was fun getting a glimpse of the Oliver tractors too.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!

Family is everything, I'd say that guy got far in life. Can't wait to see that planter in action!

We were afraid to spend more time looking at the Olivers since it was off topic. We’ll show another beautiful Oliver in a later episode.
They are the best older planter people in the business for farmers as well
Wow Tim you got your self a very nice jd 7000 planter best planter ever made
Good video Tim . Jay seems like a nice guy sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Thanks for video's Tim
Thanks for watching and commenting! Appreciate the encouragement!
Cannot wait to see you use that thing!
Some setup on it releases today 3pm Eastern Time.
Beautiful piece of equipment!

We were really impressed with this family. Passionate about pleasing their customers, yet they clearly take the time to enjoy life.
I live right down the road from there.
cool video now to find a mini bailer for the lawn clippings

I still use the same 2 row unit
i like them ole molenes myself..ive only ever drove one whn i was a kid but thy are still cool..
I love those olivers!
Surprised JD hasn't made little ones like these just for the compacts/subcompacts.
They need to re-produce the 71 flex-planter units, they are stupid-simple to use and work great!
2nd. So cool Tim. Work smarter not harder
Great video Tim. After my dad passed away I rented the farm land out and traded an 8 row 7000 to jay for a new rhino shredder, so I guess my dads planter went to live on helping some smaller farmers.
Who knows, maybe I have some pieces from that planter!!
That a cool attatchmemt! It work work well with the 2038r!
Gonna use Johnny 1 for this. 1025r
@@TractorTimewithTim Good luck with Johnny and your planter! He will do great!
Guess that old Hoss wheel hoe / planter is for wall decor at this point! That single row three point planter should be interesting.
Very cool
Thank you, I would love to have one
You'll get to use that IF it ever dries out.
Right. And this swamp will be the last to dry!
Ohio is crazy wet too, in fact, it's raining as I type this.
Chris Pileski what part of Ohio are you in? I’m close to Chillicothe
We are crazy wet here in Michigan, its raining now with a chance of snow this weekend. At this rate I'll get the garden in by havest time!

Nice pickup truck!!
Awesome
I spot an oliver sign at the dealer there always have an eye out for oliver stuff.
Keep watching!
This was a great video Tim. Wish I had a little more land to warrant an actual planter. Wonder what my neighbors would think if I dug up the grass :)
Robert Roberts who cares what the neighbors think you can’t eat the grass.
Sweet corn tastes better than grass? Right?
I think we will have to name it "New Equipment Thursday" going forwards! Lot's of exciting stuff happening on the channel.
An extraordinary volume of new stuff recently...with more to show soon. Looking forward to drier weather so that we can use it all!
Been planning on making a 2 row for replanting corn.
These little tractors cannot straddle two rows, so one or three might be the best size.
@@TractorTimewithTim
Didn't think about my spread.

johnny can pick it up nicely. So less than 600 lb. I really don’t know.

We plant GMO varieties so that we can control the ear worms and weeds easily.

J O Harris?
Well let's see it work.
Didn’t get the pontoon option! Would need that to plant today!

Great to hear. Hope to use mine in a few days.

jak się masz
Tim, why choose a 1 row over a 2 row? Smaller dimensions?
2 row would plant in the tire tracks
Great. Thank you.
One row price?
I plant mostly purple hull peas . corn . pinto beans . will this work for me your price is good
Call em, Martin. I think it will work, but they should know. Joharrissales.com
Do they have a website?
Joharrissales.com
wow-now i am really jealous now! lol. now i need one of them. ha! someday maybe!
is that planter I-Match compatible? if so then thats the cats me-ow for sure.
It will be I-Match compatible as of 3pm this afternoon. Tune in for details. The whole family came up to help with setup/testing.
How much does a 1 row weight?
Not sure. Pretty heavy for a 1025r. Likely need a pressure boost to lift it.
could your 1025r handle a 2 row planter?
No. Too heavy. Anyway, I would not want two row, as that would plant in the tire tracks. I do not want to plant in the compacted area of the tire tracks.
So how much corn you planting. Are you going to till under some of that yard Christie is mowing.?
Yes. Not sure how much we’ll plant.
sooooo awesome I have to get one of these, opps I need a 1025r fiirst :) or do I?
Anything with a 3 point hitch. Wait, you can get a pull type too!
@@TractorTimewithTim will a pull type work with the JD E170? Link?
Actually, he has a pull type Yetter which can be pulled by a UTV, so yes, an E170 would pull it.
Those Deere ones probably have harvested a lot of deer besides crops if you get my drift
But do they plant with love? =D
Yep! We actually discuss that in tomorrow’s episode.
Hey, speaking of Illinois, did you guys hear about the Anhydrous Ammonia cloud that was released in northern illinois?
Can I order I plant a acra of sweet corn every year
Yep. Website listed. Tell em tractor time with Tim sent you.
@@TractorTimewithTim were is the dealer can they diliver?
Discussed in the video.
@@TractorTimewithTim thanks man

That doesn’t even make sense.

There goes the Hoss Garden Seeder
...at least for sweet corn!
that looks kinda heavy...what does it weigh? and i want one BADLY but im too poor:(
Not sure. Johnny can pick it up with ease.
That is awesome ! I would love to have one of these planters . Me and my family just started making some videos if would like to check us out ! I don't know if you remember me from are little chats on here or not .
Does it have swath control? 😁
Another day another toy for you lol
Yea, I need some precision guidance!
@@TractorTimewithTim get some speed tubes and down force and plant @ 10mph👍
How come you only got a one row
Two row would plant right in the tire tracks.
3 would be too heavy. ...and I only need to plant a small amount. We’ll discuss more when we plant.
Ah, Sweet Corn, Creamed Sweet Corn
What happens when all the folks that could recall Oliver Tractors die , will anyone want them or will they just sell cheap to some one who does not appreciate the history?
We have an upcoming episode with a high school senior who is a huge Oliver fan. This episode will answer your question!
Show me how you put that thing up to your tractor when y'all get it off of y'all Ford 250 diesel.
Tim buy a 3038r my dealership can give you a good deal
i think u mean a 3039R-right. the 3038 was a E model if i remember correctly.
BigJim57 yes correct
i still say a 2 row exact emerge. would be awesome... or a 4 row stack bar for a 5000 series tractor... lol
