The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) is being created to provide a world-class facility to serve as a point for recognition, education, remembrance and reconciliation for Bomber Command.
It is designed by Place Architecture and the film features its Managing Director and lead Architect Stephen Palmer.
The memorial Spire's design is based on two wing fragments. The height of the memorial is 102 feet (31.9m) which is the wingspan of the Avro Lancaster. It travelled from Yorkshire, where it was engineered by Yorkshire based company S.H.Structures Ltd of Sherburn in Elmet. It was transported on two low-loaders Via Newark and around the South side of Lincoln to avoid steep hills.
