When Paul was singing this, he probably already had "Strutter" or "Black Diamond" in mind: KISS. Nevertheless "Too Many Mondays" by Mann/Weil is a nice song for Paul's Soul Station.
That was the sounds of the early 70's pop music. This could've easily been an early Bob Welch song. Listen to Sentimental lady. The song sounds actually pretty good to me. No, not a KISS song, but again, for time period.

I like.
Like one of the other tracks here, sounds like The Partridge Family
Sounds like Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil. A very successful songwriter team.

It seems like they were experimenting with different sounds and styles. Not what I normally listen to, but not bad for the day.
Gene and Paul made the right choice to fire them guys or quit or whatever they did... Ain't everyone glad kiss didn't sound like that
Stanley sounds completely neutered here. Horrible!
Music in '72 was just as terrible. Definitely was a period of transition for rock n roll.
At that time songs had to be "sterile". Paul wrote in his book, when he saw Robert Plant live, he then understood how important sex is in rockmusic.

That's why they left.
