A lot of these guns perform pretty well on certain characters. But that's the problem, they're useless on other characters. They are rarer than legendaries, they should perform amazing on every character.
Some of it is plain useless no matter which character you use it on it, you can somehow use wanderlust with gaige anarchy but you can do with close to all guns. Storm is somewhat fine. You can use a muckamuck over godfinger, unforgiven is worse than a iron. Tunguska is incredibly bad, it actively tries to kill you, there are stupid krieg shennenigans but it wont warrant any use of it. Stalker is definetly fine with zer0 and definetly much better than bearcat.
It is a problem, but that's just because all of them were poorly balanced. Also, shouldn't each character make use of different guns? Like Lilith with SMGs and mordy with snipers in the first game.
Sawbar is weirdly one of best weapons on Maya. It's bullet split is really good with the bee. It deals reaper type splash damage so Maya is one of the very few characters who can really crank up it's damage. You just gotta shoot far enough away that you reach it sweet spot because it's explosions are generated at a set distance. Once something is in that split distance... It is quite tasty. And if you can can crit in that sweet spot, absolute decimation. On top of the fact that chain reaction and all those area of effect explosions combined with the bullet split... tasty indeed. I recommend Derchlands' video on it, he explains it's mechanics in depth.
I also have it on my level 72 Maya and it’s great for mobs in enclosed places. I farm the crap out of Bar Room Blitz in Pyro Pete’s Bar for Torgue Tokens with this weapon.
I haven't tried the Sawbar despite always using a Bee shield, but *you were on point about the Bekah!* On top of everything you said, Phaselock makes it MUCH easier to line up and spam perfect shots (4 crits per shot). I keep a Jakobs Allegiance Relic on me and use it as much if not more than any BotA. Legendary Siren COM gives 10/5 in Ward gives an 80% reduction to so your Bee shield is almost always up, the amount of amp damage you can pump into an enemy's crit spot (the relic keeps recoil at bay) is absolutely INSANE - and it consumes almost no ammo! You'd think it'd cost 2 ammo per shot, but semi-auto drawing from the AR ammo pool - the only other AR I use on Maya is a low level Rocketeer for ShamFleeting. I never have ANY ammo issues with it in Digistruct Peak. Can't do that with the Butcher, making it the best Pearl imo.
Bekah is also one of the best weapons on Maya. The bullet split is crazy because she replicates the effect with chain reaction, so for every bullet that hits it can create another bullet that also splits into 3. Besides the pimpernal, it's her best weapon for chain reaction shinnanigans. It also has bullet split (unlisted projectiles) which recieve full amp damage from the bee shield. Maya arguably uses the Bekah even better than Axton can.
You’re just flat out wrong on a few of them. The Stalker is actually a good gun. Solid damage and the ricocheting bullets are fantastic with Trickster Maya and Gaige with Close Enough. The Sawbar isn’t a bad gun at all and on Kreig it shreds through enemies. The Carnage isn’t a standard Torgue shotgun. It shoots a rocket and not gyro jets. Axton and Kreig are especially good with it (just with a vertical grip). The Butcher is indeed a good gun so points there. But the best grip for it is Bandit, not Hyperion. You want the most damage per pellet and more bullets in the mag means increased chance to add ammo back. You used the Bekkah in the wrong way. It has a type B critical hit bonus and unlisted projectiles. You’re not supposed to spam it like Sal does with pistols. You’re supposed to aim for crits and tap tap tap. Also using Sal to judge everything in the game is ridiculous. He’s a walking glitch and by your standards everything other than cheesing with a Grog DPUH load out isn’t worth it. At least do a little research before you shit out a video like this.
A pearlescent item thats rarer then legendary (by alot) shouldnt need some niche thing to even be usable. "with a vertical grip" you want me to sit and farm for a specific pearl and then the only way its usable is getting a certain grip?
@@jacobboernet5287 The attachment problem is for the entire game. the vertical grip is important for nearly all shotguns since it boosts pellet count. The carnage is one of the easiest to get perfect since there's no element to worry about. plenty of pearls needed a buff (which the community patch helps with a lot) but people trash on the good ones far too much. the best pearl farming is going for other stuff like class mods from tubbies and you happen to get a bekkah or carnage. Or farm uranus for legendary drops and you happen to get a butcher, sawbar,stalker etc. also pearls for the most part just excel with characters besides salvador.
The wanderlust has high base damage and synergizes well with anarchy Gaige, this also applies to the stalker, and shock Gaige does well with the storm. The unforgiven can be used well by Zero since burst damage is the name of the game with him. Maya likes the bekah and godfinger because of their interactions with chain reaction. The carnage and tunguska work well on Krieg and Axton. The sawbar is just really god for everyone, except sal, by the way Sal is probably the worst character to test these, he only synergizes well with the butcher. The bearcat, is actually just not good, Axton can use it but he can use other guns that don't cost 6 ammo per shot better. For instance the avenger, but if you aren't running a chuck build the avenger also works well to just shoot. So yeah, the pearls are overall very niche weapons and given that sal performs very poorly with niche weapons he was the worst choice for this.
The Tunguska is pretty damn good on Axton. That thing has a HUGE explosive radius, you just need to keep your distance. Fits my carful play style nicely.
Krieg is my main, specifically hellfire with the flame of the Firehawk, and I absolutely love the Tunguska on him. I got one to drop with perfect parts for missile speed, lvl 79 ofc, but it still smacks. It's the perfect up weapon, tool to pick off a sniper behind cover, or imo the most fun to just nuke a cluster of enemies. Ah sweet explosiony bliss.
Especially Shock Gaige! Get that Grog Nozzle drunk effect going and maybe even The Orc's special effect that thing is MADNESS, although it may freeze your game..Lol
The carnage is one of the best shotguns to use on an explosive flesh crunch Krieg build, and I could see it being good on axton too with all of his grenade dmg bonuses
The Carnage has Rocket splash & ergo doesn't really benefit from any specific buffs beyond Explosive/Shotgun sadly, so it's way more Krieg centric if anything. Still plenty viable on Axton but not the same degree of synergy that say, a Critical prefix Ravager would have on him.

I did a Carnage Krieg and it can be really good at times, but other times also really bad because when you enter battle for the first time you don't have any bonus damage from kill skills so the damage is piss poor. You also waste SO MUCH AMMO like with the Bearcat. I wish the Carnage had a second gimmick, that being it has a chance to not consume ammo or it should add ammo like the Butcher. Even if it was a 10% chance it would still help out a ton, but imo it should be like 20-50% chance to not consume ammo. Since it doesn't crit it really needed another buff in some way, either more damage or another gimmick. Seriously fight the big Spiderant during the Claptrap crypto mission in Commander Lilith with the Carnage you will literally NEVER kill it because of the no crits. It was so sad..
Tbh the Sawbar is really good on maya and gaige because they can both pretty much ignore the short distance requirement. Also imo pearls don't necessarily HAVE to be good on all characters. There are only a handful of guns that are objectively good no matter who you're playing, and each character caters to different guns differently. Saw a couple comments talking about how even the good pearls are bad because they're only good with certain vault hunters.
The Avenger pretty much epitomizes this in being just an average gun in mobbing that is an actual GOD for raiding on Axton/Krieg. Really the Pearlescents should've leaned more into the niche use case while still at least being viable on their merits (Which is something the Godfinger & Wanderlust utterly fail at, with the former needing way too much range to be usable under conventional combat, & the Wanderlust relying on high Anarchy stacks from Gaige to put in the work).
How to use the wanderlust: Step 1: Get the wanderlust. Step 2: Go to overlook. Step 3: Go to where the beacon is. Step 4: Near the beacon is a grinder. like something. Final step throw it in the grinder. Hooray! you figured out how to use the wanderlust.
Carnage is insane on krieg, just because guns dont work on sal doesnt mean they are bad. Ofc some guns wouldnt work on salvador and i honestly cant say he has the best survivability, your point of survival only works on raidboss scenarios.(Carnage is great only if you get vertical grip on it tho, its pretty part dependant)
@@0fficalHellfire carnage is definetly worth on krieg, it would be your general mobbing weapon. So it would be worth digging it at op10 if you have the patience for it. Butcher is much more harder to hit since you need both vertical and elemental which sucks so bad.
consider this for using the carnage, run a krieg build with a flesh crunch class mod and strip the flesh for explosive damage and salt the wound for shotgun damage, i was running a bloodlust build with krieg a while back and this weapon was slapping hard, only problem i personally find is its fast firerate and high ammo cost make its ammo deplete kinda fast, but i can assure you that its a lot better for krieg that sal, are there better shotguns? yes. but youre certainly gonna find its at least better with a proper krieg build (btw dont use it on axton cause even tho axton is known in the community as "the explosive guy" that explosive damage comes from grenade damage boosts and weapons that happen to scale with that and since the carnage doesnt scale with grenade damage so it gets no boosts for axton),

The carnage is flat out the best shotgun for a krieg bloodbath build as its neutral, hits really hard, is ammo effitient and not only benefits from bloodbath dmg boost but also triggers it every time you get a kill with it not only sometimes like with a ravager or sth like that Combine it with a longbow pandemic/stormfront for stacking and a legendary reaper CM and you can basically blaze a trail through UVHM without slag

The unforgiven. What a fall from grace. From being pretty much the best weapon in borderlands 1 to one of the worst in 2. The unforgiven from 1 had insane damage, slow fire rate and was insanely accurate. That on paper sounds the same as the one from borderlands 2. It is not. The legendary unforgiven from borderlands 1 had the ability to kill most enemies in a single headshot making the phrase “if it took more than one shot, you weren’t using a jakobs” actually correct. That motto is false advertising in 2. It’s unlikely you’ll kill anything in 1 shot with any weapon making dps trump damage which is kinda the exact opposite of how borderlands 1 functioned where getting headshots with powerful weapons was your best bet.
Basically need ways to increase fire rate on it to make it usable, so mainly sheriff's badge with any fire rate increasing skills. Maybe good for Krieg since being able to slowly apply effects on targets while going into rampage could be nice, but even then a single pandemic grenade does that better.
I would have put the godfinger and sawbar a little higher on the list. The godfinger has a niche at the very least compared to the other things low on the list. As for the sawbar, it has a bit of a learning curve, but it can deal some good damage if you get the distance between you and your enemy right. I love using that thing on Kreig
The first pearlescent I ever got was Atlas Aries in BL1. That gun was so good. It’s still one of my favorites in the entire franchise. It was the only Pearl i got in BL1. The next one i got was the Unforgiven in BL2. I was so excited. And on top of it the red text is one of my favorite movie quotes of all time. (If you’ve never seen Clint Eastwoods 1991 best picture Oscar winner do yourself a favor and go watch it. It’s fantastic). Imagine my disappointment when i actually tried the gun 😢
If you think it's good on Maya, try the Sawbar on Axton. The synergy it has with Impact, Steady, Battlefront, Onslaught, and Metalstorm makes it a MONSTER of a gun if used efectively.
I really enjoy the Sawbar if it's buffed with some of Axton's skills and maybe a Bandit relic, and usually a Bee, you have to stand back a lot further than you were in the clips for this one so the spread can widen, but I do enjoy just bathing everything in fire, even if it objectively isn't the greatest gun in the world it is just unique,
The only way to get a kill with the Wanderlust is to play Gaige and have max Anarchy stacks and even then she still has better options, and the Sawbar is actually one of the strongest weapons for Axton, Maya, and Gaige just don't use it on Sal.
It was nice to see the storm become better (I think it did?) I’m borderlands 3, with the orbs lasting longer. It pairs well with Fl4k’s skill that has a chance to add a bullet back to the mag after hitting a critical hit, with also pairs well with the megavore skill
My favorite BL2 sniper rifle is the Godfinger. A sniper rifle sends a single round very quickly and accurately over astonishing distances to achieve a kill. The Lyunda (sp) family send a bunch of rounds that split way too soon to get both rounds on target for a headshot unless that target is less than 30 game feet away from you. The round split effect on the GF happens quite a distance away and stays in a tight group at impact maximizing damage. For close work I switch to a Harold, Hornet, Hellfire, or Slagga. Right tool for the right job. But some people want to use a wood handle screwdriver as a chisel.
Ok for the most part facts buuut the bearcat can be used on and axton with assault rifle/explosive build along with the avenger but you’ll mainly use it for its tediore ability and spam throw it with a grenade build since tediore are considered grenades when thrown all his abilities that buff grenades are applied now kreig can use the butcher ,sawbar and the carnage saw bar and carnage first sawbar is ok on a hellborn/explosive build since the ammo won’t be a problem because as long as your doing damage you got ammo not the best but not the worst carnage actually smacks on kreig the perk salt in the wound buffs shotgun damage which apply’s to the carnage and a decent classmod can increase the buff to its damage and obviously an explosive build the carnage does wonders the butcher does not need explaining its great on Salvador and Kreig and the beka as you said is pretty solid
It does really suck that the majority of the highest rarity loot in BL2 is straight trash and personally there are far better choices for these builds and honestly I still agree you won’t want to farm for these especially since you’ll need decent parts to have max damage and use out of them if I had to say any I’d farm it’d be butcher/avenger the saw bar I wouldn’t waste my time on if you need a high ammo count auto rifle that’s element the kitten is a far better and easier choice to get your hands on all of the second gen pearls only drop from chubby/tubby enemies which have all second gen pearls all build specific class mods for every character the bunny rocket launcher the WTF shield and the cracked sash plus skins along with chubby/tubby enemies already being incredibly rare as it is they only can drop one of the listed items at a time you can sink entire days worth of grinding and not walk away with anything useful the butcher/avenger can drop from binary boss loot midgets and other high loot drop sources raid bosses and other bosses of course only in UVHM with so many more loot able sources there far easier to come by
the only way the wanderlust is good is if u abuse the drunk effect on the grog nozzle or play gaige with anarchy stacks or play krieg. edit: there is no way the stalker is below the bearcat, the stalker has a lot higher damage potential and can kill things more effectively.
I would've put the Godfinger way higher, but I can admit that it's because I play Sniper Zer0 and fight from ridiculous distances whenever possible. Phenomenal damage from far away.
I've gotten the Storm to work pretty well on Gaige. Go full into the electrical damage + legendary catalyst(?) and max Anarchy and it can wreck. Also, I'm surprised to hear someone actively hates both the Carnage and the Sawbar. I've never **not** gotten those to work, you're missing out somehow. Maybe you should try playing someone that's not Salvador, aiming down sight is kinda a huge deal for a lot of these guns. Try the Sawbar on Krieg with a Legendary Torch build, it's just so fucking hilariously violent, so much fun. Try that and then tell me you hate the Sawbar lol.
I think the problem with so many of these weapons (excluding how stupid lvl 80 OP10 is) is that there are weapons that are straight up better in most ways. Why use the Tunguska over a Nukem or World Burn or Badaboom? Why use the Stalker when the Stinger (which is literally a direct upgrade if I’m not mistaken) exists? Why use the Unforgiven when literally any purple rarity Jakobs pistol exists?
3:04 Actually that's not the "fastest" one, your unforgiven has a torgue grip, if you had one with a vladof grip it would be just a tiny bit faster. And your's has the prefix of Loaded (magazine size), if it was Trickshot (Fire Rate) it would also be faster. With both together the fire rate would be significantly faster (but not too fast, lol). Also the Sheriff's Badge increases fire rate for pistols, and there's a couple other ways to increase fire rate. With all of that said, the unforgiven is still unforgivable.
Other than the fact that a purple anarchist and stalker with matching parts are identical I’d take the anarchist over the slower moving ricochet projectile
I really like Carnage. It is an amazing weapon specifically on Krieg due to 100% Blood Bath activation. Haven't tried it on OP10 yet, but on OP8 it's great
Single pellet weapons scale rather badly the higher the level goes but i def recommend a casual (x3) carnage on krieg. I hated it too until that time and yes it's not THE BEST weapon on krieg but it can do significant dmg

I have gotten way more kills with the Unforgiven than the Tunguska, Wanderlust, and Bearcat combined. Bekah, Godfinger, and Unforgiven are my favorites and work really well on Maya.
Out of all these pearls in the game, it’s a real shame that Godfinger isn’t that great. I mean, it should stupid strong no matter what based on that name. It should do ridiculous damage up close but do even more when enemies are a certain distance away but that’s just not the case sadly. Also, the Butcher is also my favourite pearl. It’s just so satisfying to use.
If the rampup was more extreme, where you had to be quite a distance away from the enemy but not half a map, then it might become a skillbased weapon where to be most effective you had to play at the correct distance. But the effect is just too weak unless you're actually doing some IRL sniping.
Snipers are meant to be used at long range. The lyuadia may be great at close quarters but also has a certain range it preforms best. Sit back with the God finger, spec into critical hits with zero and hit some well placed heads hots with it and I'm sure you'll be just fine
As a gaige main... The storm can do some serious damage with the electrical boost/buff/skill tree. I did actually farm them level 50-60-70-80 then at each OP level... But for all other characters yeah I can see why it would be so low on the list... But if your a gaige player you know it would be higher on the list 👍
Carnage is pretty good for Krieg since it dips into both his grenade and gun buffs... But the swordsplosion is just outright better, so there's no real reason to farm for one, which is sort of disappointing.
The only usage I found to my Storm is to kill glitched enemies inside walls and to spawn Hunter Hellquist so i can farm the Bee without wasting grenades or rocket ammo lol
Pearls are awful, I don't use them. They're only good for collection reasons. They all should have been buffed in a patch. Not sure how Gearbox thought adding them in via a DLC was a good idea making them weaker than most unique tier weapons.
carnage is disgusting on krieg, it's the number one shotgun for him due to his buffs to explosive damage and shotguns. the stalker is amazing on gaige as well, her anarchy build melts with bee shield and stalker
there's a seraph relic that if paired with zero's skill twofang can get the unforgiven a decent chance to be okay. not worth running over other weapons especially the bekah.

I spent so long farming for a practicable elemental Butcher and I finally got one to drop (when I wasn’t even farming for it)… but it dropped in slag. I almost committed Japanese suicide. I tried using it as a slagging weapon, but the slagga, grog and crossfire grenade are just way more functional.

Unforgiven is indeed ass but ive found a way to make it USEABLE. Take zero and spec into two fang and max it out with any com and use a two fer unforgiven at point blank range. Its not great but its actually kinda fun imo
Idea for the Wanderlust: If it's bad for accuracy as a dart weapon, why not stack it with Gaige's Anarchy? I'm surprised you dislike the Godfinger more for its scope rather than the sloth-grade fire rate. Call it 'broken' all you want, but it should have had a fire rate "as fast as you can pull the trigger" as a reward for trying to get the best, and rarest, loot. Could Stalker benefit from Gaige's 'Close Enough' skill? I personally consider the Bearcat far worse than the Godfinger, mainly because not only can you not see- it chews through ammo that you'll be bled dry in a manner of seconds (if you're not Gunzerking in the process) I'm sure Axton's 'steady' explosive buffs will have a good effect on the Carnege, making it even stronger and more viable as a quick damage dealer.
yes! agreed, at least for mobbing the Bekah is much stronger on Maya than Axton since it's so reliant on positioning, once you learn that sweet spot to phaselock an enemy it absolutely wrecks (no pun intended).
axton might be able to make use of the tunguska/carnage just bc he has a shit ton of explosive skills and he gets even more from being in fight for your life
You might have had more luck with the wanderlust if you were using a fire variant over a slag one. Why would you use a slag one when you have a grog in hand? Double slag is pointless. It's not even meant to kill outright.
Although the wanderlust is truly an abominable nearly useless piece of shit, it does allow for the laziest and safest playstyle in BL2 when paired with high anarchy Gaige. Pre-stacking is not fun, the wanderlust is even worse somehow, but you can manage to kill things with almost 0 risk by hiding behind something and shooting it into the air with 400+ stacks. I don't recommend playing the game this way, it's also very slow and any sane person would pass out from boredom doing this, but it *is* feasibly possible to kill things with the wanderlust.

Exactly. Axton, Gaige, Maya, Krieg, and Zer0 all have builds that can have pretty strong ass synergy with some of these guns.

You used the Bekkah in the wrong way. It has a type B critical hit bonus and unlisted projectiles. You’re not supposed to spam it like Sal does with pistols. You’re supposed to aim for crits and tap tap tap.
Also using Sal to judge everything in the game is ridiculous. He’s a walking glitch and by your standards everything other than cheesing with a Grog DPUH load out isn’t worth it. At least do a little research before you shit out a video like this.
A pearlescent item thats rarer then legendary (by alot) shouldnt need some niche thing to even be usable. "with a vertical grip" you want me to sit and farm for a specific pearl and then the only way its usable is getting a certain grip?

The carnage is one of the easiest to get perfect since there's no element to worry about. plenty of pearls needed a buff (which the community patch helps with a lot) but people trash on the good ones far too much. the best pearl farming is going for other stuff like class mods from tubbies and you happen to get a bekkah or carnage. Or farm uranus for legendary drops and you happen to get a butcher, sawbar,stalker etc. also pearls for the most part just excel with characters besides salvador.

The wanderlust has high base damage and synergizes well with anarchy Gaige, this also applies to the stalker, and shock Gaige does well with the storm. The unforgiven can be used well by Zero since burst damage is the name of the game with him. Maya likes the bekah and godfinger because of their interactions with chain reaction. The carnage and tunguska work well on Krieg and Axton. The sawbar is just really god for everyone, except sal, by the way Sal is probably the worst character to test these, he only synergizes well with the butcher. The bearcat, is actually just not good, Axton can use it but he can use other guns that don't cost 6 ammo per shot better. For instance the avenger, but if you aren't running a chuck build the avenger also works well to just shoot.
So yeah, the pearls are overall very niche weapons and given that sal performs very poorly with niche weapons he was the worst choice for this.

The Tunguska is pretty damn good on Axton. That thing has a HUGE explosive radius, you just need to keep your distance. Fits my carful play style nicely.

Krieg is my main, specifically hellfire with the flame of the Firehawk, and I absolutely love the Tunguska on him. I got one to drop with perfect parts for missile speed, lvl 79 ofc, but it still smacks. It's the perfect up weapon, tool to pick off a sniper behind cover, or imo the most fun to just nuke a cluster of enemies.

The storm can actually be extremely strong on a middle tree Gaige or Sniper Maya build.

The carnage is one of the best shotguns to use on an explosive flesh crunch Krieg build, and I could see it being good on axton too with all of his grenade dmg bonuses
The Carnage has Rocket splash & ergo doesn't really benefit from any specific buffs beyond Explosive/Shotgun sadly, so it's way more Krieg centric if anything. Still plenty viable on Axton but not the same degree of synergy that say, a Critical prefix Ravager would have on him.
The carnage does work great on Axton as he does have some rocket damage increasing skills

I did a Carnage Krieg and it can be really good at times, but other times also really bad because when you enter battle for the first time you don't have any bonus damage from kill skills so the damage is piss poor. You also waste SO MUCH AMMO like with the Bearcat. I wish the Carnage had a second gimmick, that being it has a chance to not consume ammo or it should add ammo like the Butcher. Even if it was a 10% chance it would still help out a ton, but imo it should be like 20-50% chance to not consume ammo. Since it doesn't crit it really needed another buff in some way, either more damage or another gimmick. Seriously fight the big Spiderant during the Claptrap crypto mission in Commander Lilith with the Carnage you will literally NEVER kill it because of the no crits. It was so sad..

Tbh the Sawbar is really good on maya and gaige because they can both pretty much ignore the short distance requirement. Also imo pearls don't necessarily HAVE to be good on all characters. There are only a handful of guns that are objectively good no matter who you're playing, and each character caters to different guns differently. Saw a couple comments talking about how even the good pearls are bad because they're only good with certain vault hunters.
The Avenger pretty much epitomizes this in being just an average gun in mobbing that is an actual GOD for raiding on Axton/Krieg. Really the Pearlescents should've leaned more into the niche use case while still at least being viable on their merits (Which is something the Godfinger & Wanderlust utterly fail at, with the former needing way too much range to be usable under conventional combat, & the Wanderlust relying on high Anarchy stacks from Gaige to put in the work).

Carnage is insane on krieg, just because guns dont work on sal doesnt mean they are bad. Ofc some guns wouldnt work on salvador and i honestly cant say he has the best survivability, your point of survival only works on raidboss scenarios.(Carnage is great only if you get vertical grip on it tho, its pretty part dependant)

@@0fficalHellfire carnage is definetly worth on krieg, it would be your general mobbing weapon. So it would be worth digging it at op10 if you have the patience for it. Butcher is much more harder to hit since you need both vertical and elemental which sucks so bad.

consider this for using the carnage, run a krieg build with a flesh crunch class mod and strip the flesh for explosive damage and salt the wound for shotgun damage, i was running a bloodlust build with krieg a while back and this weapon was slapping hard, only problem i personally find is its fast firerate and high ammo cost make its ammo deplete kinda fast, but i can assure you that its a lot better for krieg that sal, are there better shotguns? yes. but youre certainly gonna find its at least better with a proper krieg build (btw dont use it on axton cause even tho axton is known in the community as "the explosive guy" that explosive damage comes from grenade damage boosts and weapons that happen to scale with that and since the carnage doesnt scale with grenade damage so it gets no boosts for axton),

The carnage also procs bloodbath on kill because its damage counts as grenade damage and bloodlust is a super cracked skill.
The enemies are better at killing enemies than a wanderlust
The carnage is flat out the best shotgun for a krieg bloodbath build as its neutral, hits really hard, is ammo effitient and not only benefits from bloodbath dmg boost but also triggers it every time you get a kill with it not only sometimes like with a ravager or sth like that
Combine it with a longbow pandemic/stormfront for stacking and a legendary reaper CM and you can basically blaze a trail through UVHM without slag

The unforgiven. What a fall from grace. From being pretty much the best weapon in borderlands 1 to one of the worst in 2. The unforgiven from 1 had insane damage, slow fire rate and was insanely accurate. That on paper sounds the same as the one from borderlands 2. It is not. The legendary unforgiven from borderlands 1 had the ability to kill most enemies in a single headshot making the phrase “if it took more than one shot, you weren’t using a jakobs” actually correct. That motto is false advertising in 2. It’s unlikely you’ll kill anything in 1 shot with any weapon making dps trump damage which is kinda the exact opposite of how borderlands 1 functioned where getting headshots with powerful weapons was your best bet.
Exactly! The scaling was just hit right on the money in borderlands 1. The propaganda of borderlands 2 is definitely something to say the least, haha.
Basically need ways to increase fire rate on it to make it usable, so mainly sheriff's badge with any fire rate increasing skills. Maybe good for Krieg since being able to slowly apply effects on targets while going into rampage could be nice, but even then a single pandemic grenade does that better.
I would have put the godfinger and sawbar a little higher on the list. The godfinger has a niche at the very least compared to the other things low on the list. As for the sawbar, it has a bit of a learning curve, but it can deal some good damage if you get the distance between you and your enemy right. I love using that thing on Kreig
The first pearlescent I ever got was Atlas Aries in BL1. That gun was so good. It’s still one of my favorites in the entire franchise. It was the only Pearl i got in BL1. The next one i got was the Unforgiven in BL2. I was so excited. And on top of it the red text is one of my favorite movie quotes of all time. (If you’ve never seen Clint Eastwoods 1991 best picture Oscar winner do yourself a favor and go watch it. It’s fantastic). Imagine my disappointment when i actually tried the gun 😢
The Sawbar on Maya is actually pretty good
If you think it's good on Maya, try the Sawbar on Axton. The synergy it has with Impact, Steady, Battlefront, Onslaught, and Metalstorm makes it a MONSTER of a gun if used efectively.

I really enjoy the Sawbar if it's buffed with some of Axton's skills and maybe a Bandit relic, and usually a Bee, you have to stand back a lot further than you were in the clips for this one so the spread can widen, but I do enjoy just bathing everything in fire, even if it objectively isn't the greatest gun in the world it is just unique,
carnage is one of the best shottys to use, you just need to build around explosive damage, keep in mind almost every weapon falls off at op10
The only way to get a kill with the Wanderlust is to play Gaige and have max Anarchy stacks and even then she still has better options, and the Sawbar is actually one of the strongest weapons for Axton, Maya, and Gaige just don't use it on Sal.
Oh and the Carnage works wonders on Axton and Krieg.
One final thing is that the Gen 2 Pearls, the Carnage, Wanderlust, Godfinger, and Bekah only come from Tubbies from Lvl 62 onward

It was nice to see the storm become better (I think it did?) I’m borderlands 3, with the orbs lasting longer. It pairs well with Fl4k’s skill that has a chance to add a bullet back to the mag after hitting a critical hit, with also pairs well with the megavore skill
I found a dva stalker with Gaige. It was actually pretty good with her close enough and nth degree abilities.
My favorite BL2 sniper rifle is the Godfinger. A sniper rifle sends a single round very quickly and accurately over astonishing distances to achieve a kill. The Lyunda (sp) family send a bunch of rounds that split way too soon to get both rounds on target for a headshot unless that target is less than 30 game feet away from you. The round split effect on the GF happens quite a distance away and stays in a tight group at impact maximizing damage. For close work I switch to a Harold, Hornet, Hellfire, or Slagga. Right tool for the right job. But some people want to use a wood handle screwdriver as a chisel.
Ok for the most part facts buuut the bearcat can be used on and axton with assault rifle/explosive build along with the avenger but you’ll mainly use it for its tediore ability and spam throw it with a grenade build since tediore are considered grenades when thrown all his abilities that buff grenades are applied now kreig can use the butcher ,sawbar and the carnage saw bar and carnage first sawbar is ok on a hellborn/explosive build since the ammo won’t be a problem because as long as your doing damage you got ammo not the best but not the worst carnage actually smacks on kreig the perk salt in the wound buffs shotgun damage which apply’s to the carnage and a decent classmod can increase the buff to its damage and obviously an explosive build the carnage does wonders the butcher does not need explaining its great on Salvador and Kreig and the beka as you said is pretty solid
It does really suck that the majority of the highest rarity loot in BL2 is straight trash and personally there are far better choices for these builds and honestly I still agree you won’t want to farm for these especially since you’ll need decent parts to have max damage and use out of them if I had to say any I’d farm it’d be butcher/avenger the saw bar I wouldn’t waste my time on if you need a high ammo count auto rifle that’s element the kitten is a far better and easier choice to get your hands on all of the second gen pearls only drop from chubby/tubby enemies which have all second gen pearls all build specific class mods for every character the bunny rocket launcher the WTF shield and the cracked sash plus skins along with chubby/tubby enemies already being incredibly rare as it is they only can drop one of the listed items at a time you can sink entire days worth of grinding and not walk away with anything useful the butcher/avenger can drop from binary boss loot midgets and other high loot drop sources raid bosses and other bosses of course only in UVHM with so many more loot able sources there far easier to come by

edit: there is no way the stalker is below the bearcat, the stalker has a lot higher damage potential and can kill things more effectively.
I would've put the Godfinger way higher, but I can admit that it's because I play Sniper Zer0 and fight from ridiculous distances whenever possible. Phenomenal damage from far away.
I've gotten the Storm to work pretty well on Gaige. Go full into the electrical damage + legendary catalyst(?) and max Anarchy and it can wreck.
Also, I'm surprised to hear someone actively hates both the Carnage and the Sawbar. I've never **not** gotten those to work, you're missing out somehow. Maybe you should try playing someone that's not Salvador, aiming down sight is kinda a huge deal for a lot of these guns.
Try the Sawbar on Krieg with a Legendary Torch build, it's just so fucking hilariously violent, so much fun. Try that and then tell me you hate the Sawbar lol.

I think the problem with so many of these weapons (excluding how stupid lvl 80 OP10 is) is that there are weapons that are straight up better in most ways. Why use the Tunguska over a Nukem or World Burn or Badaboom? Why use the Stalker when the Stinger (which is literally a direct upgrade if I’m not mistaken) exists? Why use the Unforgiven when literally any purple rarity Jakobs pistol exists?

3:04 Actually that's not the "fastest" one, your unforgiven has a torgue grip, if you had one with a vladof grip it would be just a tiny bit faster. And your's has the prefix of Loaded (magazine size), if it was Trickshot (Fire Rate) it would also be faster. With both together the fire rate would be significantly faster (but not too fast, lol).
Also the Sheriff's Badge increases fire rate for pistols, and there's a couple other ways to increase fire rate. With all of that said, the unforgiven is still unforgivable.

Single pellet weapons scale rather badly the higher the level goes but i def recommend a casual (x3) carnage on krieg. I hated it too until that time and yes it's not THE BEST weapon on krieg but it can do significant dmg

I have gotten way more kills with the Unforgiven than the Tunguska, Wanderlust, and Bearcat combined. Bekah, Godfinger, and Unforgiven are my favorites and work really well on Maya.
Out of all these pearls in the game, it’s a real shame that Godfinger isn’t that great. I mean, it should stupid strong no matter what based on that name. It should do ridiculous damage up close but do even more when enemies are a certain distance away but that’s just not the case sadly.
Also, the Butcher is also my favourite pearl. It’s just so satisfying to use.
If the rampup was more extreme, where you had to be quite a distance away from the enemy but not half a map, then it might become a skillbased weapon where to be most effective you had to play at the correct distance. But the effect is just too weak unless you're actually doing some IRL sniping.
Snipers are meant to be used at long range. The lyuadia may be great at close quarters but also has a certain range it preforms best. Sit back with the God finger, spec into critical hits with zero and hit some well placed heads hots with it and I'm sure you'll be just fine
You should try using the storm with shock gaige or maya with 11/10 chain reaction.

As a gaige main... The storm can do some serious damage with the electrical boost/buff/skill tree. I did actually farm them level 50-60-70-80 then at each OP level... But for all other characters yeah I can see why it would be so low on the list... But if your a gaige player you know it would be higher on the list 👍
Carnage is pretty good for Krieg since it dips into both his grenade and gun buffs... But the swordsplosion is just outright better, so there's no real reason to farm for one, which is sort of disappointing.
Just got a world drop pearl in Souther Shelf - Bay. Can’t say I remember that happening before.
The wanderlust performs SEMI decently when paired with anarchy gaige hiding behind cover with a bee.
The only usage I found to my Storm is to kill glitched enemies inside walls and to spawn Hunter Hellquist so i can farm the Bee without wasting grenades or rocket ammo lol

Pearls are awful, I don't use them. They're only good for collection reasons. They all should have been buffed in a patch. Not sure how Gearbox thought adding them in via a DLC was a good idea making them weaker than most unique tier weapons.
Obviously there are better options but if you want the Wonderlust to work use it with shock on Gaige.
wanderlust actually has one use and that is quick farming pyro petes bar for easy quest completion on lower levels
carnage is disgusting on krieg, it's the number one shotgun for him due to his buffs to explosive damage and shotguns. the stalker is amazing on gaige as well, her anarchy build melts with bee shield and stalker
there's a seraph relic that if paired with zero's skill twofang can get the unforgiven a decent chance to be okay. not worth running over other weapons especially the bekah.
With maya the avenger’s pretty good if you have a sub-machine gun build with a legendary cat.

I spent so long farming for a practicable elemental Butcher and I finally got one to drop (when I wasn’t even farming for it)… but it dropped in slag. I almost committed Japanese suicide.
I tried using it as a slagging weapon, but the slagga, grog and crossfire grenade are just way more functional.
The Landscaper is definitely worse than the Carnage.

I'm surprised you dislike the Godfinger more for its scope rather than the sloth-grade fire rate. Call it 'broken' all you want, but it should have had a fire rate "as fast as you can pull the trigger" as a reward for trying to get the best, and rarest, loot.

I personally consider the Bearcat far worse than the Godfinger, mainly because not only can you not see- it chews through ammo that you'll be bled dry in a manner of seconds (if you're not Gunzerking in the process)
I'm sure Axton's 'steady' explosive buffs will have a good effect on the Carnege, making it even stronger and more viable as a quick damage dealer.
I have been told 600 stacks of anarchy makes the wanderlust still ass but more viable and almost in competition with a basic repeater

yes! agreed, at least for mobbing the Bekah is much stronger on Maya than Axton since it's so reliant on positioning, once you learn that sweet spot to phaselock an enemy it absolutely wrecks (no pun intended).

You might have had more luck with the wanderlust if you were using a fire variant over a slag one. Why would you use a slag one when you have a grog in hand? Double slag is pointless. It's not even meant to kill outright.

Although the wanderlust is truly an abominable nearly useless piece of shit, it does allow for the laziest and safest playstyle in BL2 when paired with high anarchy Gaige. Pre-stacking is not fun, the wanderlust is even worse somehow, but you can manage to kill things with almost 0 risk by hiding behind something and shooting it into the air with 400+ stacks. I don't recommend playing the game this way, it's also very slow and any sane person would pass out from boredom doing this, but it *is* feasibly possible to kill things with the wanderlust.
At that point the Fibber is a better AFK gun, lol.
