(Gets worse with very update). It's super slow too and I am honestly not very impressed. It's the only device on my network to do this and I have actually reset it several times. CADR is very outdated. Air changes are actually used in hospital HVAC systems (ventilation). Air purifiers are made to purify ultra small particles. HVAC is for the bigger stuff. Unless it's a clean room. Then ULPA filters are used. But for home filtration, HEPA is king. The thicker the filter, the more likely the smaller particles will get caught. The faster the fan speed the more likely those tiny particles go through the other side. That's why a lot of air purifiers like Honeywell have germ mode on a low speed. High speed is great if your kitchen is on fire, but if you have a good HVAC system, that shouldn't be an issue. The slower the speed+a sealed room=truly clean air, since you're going to be in that room most of the time. Dyson, developed a test called polar. I've talked to their engineering team. CADR is inaccurate because it doesn't represent a real life sized room, and it is a very short test. POLAR is designed to emulate real world conditions. CADR has been used since the 80s. POLAR is more expensive, and new and very few companies want to waste money and high quality testing. So what does this mean? Your machine most likely isn't doing what it's advertised as. In reality, it might be doing less. And if it's not fully sealed, particles leak out, so in reality you're using 80% of the filter rather than what is advertised. I've spent 3 years of research, calling CEOs and help desks. I believe everyone should get what they pay for, some people are in bad health and need a machine they can rely on. And not suffer.

    • @dannyomo
      @dannyomo 2 года назад

      depends on ceiling height and square footage. A 10x10 room with 10' ceilings is 1000 cu ft (10x10x10). A filter with a CADR of 1000 means it can exchange that 1000 cu ft every minute, but that'd be a bit overkill (or is it...lllluxuryyyy). ruclips.net/video/OmQai20fQgU/видео.html

This is also where we have our “living room landing” where we mostly hang out. It's an interesting product, but there's a lot of things people should know.
    1. Wyze separates out their filters for different uses. Competing products offer all of that filtration at once, so you don't need to choose what you want to filter. Separation makes no sense unless you're purposely trying to sell more filters.
    2. Prices for replacement filters is extremely high when taking into consideration the need for multiple filters due to the filter separation Wyze is doing. That separate filtration should be a deal-breaker for nearly everyone. This is a common theme of Wyze. Offer a cheap way to get into a product, but then kill the consumer with ongoing support cost.
    3. Wyze isn't a known player in the air purifier market and they use proprietary filtration. So if this is just another Wyze product that ends up in the Wyze junk drawer, there's no using it beyond their support.
    4. At this price point, the purifier lacks features like an ionizer. This is so much more important than any smart feature because it gives notable and quantifiable improvements.
    There's so many air purifiers that have bells and whistles, but simply don't perform. It's an extremely common theme in this space. Conversly, there's just so many great tried and true products in the market that there's no reason to take a chance on something like this. Are you buying an air purifier because you want another toy for your smart home or do you actually have a real need for proper air purification? If it's the latter, just go get a proper Coway, Blueair, or even Honeywell and literally breathe easy. Oh, skip Dyson's underperforming products as well.

      I think the replies are the Wyze employees. You are correct on this comment. Wyze left me empty handed with their first Wyze sensors that were known to stop working. I spent months working with them and no offer of a refund or replace as they moved on to a new upgraded product with Wyze sense. As a loyal customer I was upset how they treated me as a customer. Their cameras have worked out well for me and I own a lot of them, but their strategy is all over the place

    Here is something that will help anyone who wants to know if their purifier is good or not: *sealed gasket to prevent particle leakage. *Filter is thick and doesn't loose efficiency over time. *For odors carbon will have to be in lbs to be truly effective. *Avoid anything that doesn't have an option to turn off an ionizer. *Stay away from scare tactics, ex: our purifier prevents anthrax (medify) others don't. It's very unlikely they actually used anthrax in their tests, because.......it's anthrax. *They have crappy costomer service. *Auto mode under $500, very inaccurate. *AHAM, AAFA, SGS, INTERTEK, UL, are your best options to know how effective they are from third party tests, also if they were tested at a major hospital like John Hopkins, or Tested by the US Government. You can ask for their papers and they will give it to you. *It's made in Switzerland. *Test it out, see if it relives your suffering, if it's good, most likely your allergies will dramatically decrease within an hour or two.
    That's your best bet on finding a good air purifier without getting fucked over by greedy jack wads.
