Welcome to the official Walt Disney Animation Studios RUclips channel! There’s much from the archive that we want to share, while also giving you glimpses into our current studio--a dynamic place full of fresh voices and talent. - Кино
Iwájú was written, directed, and voiced by Nigerians. Even the score was composed by a Nigerian. My brother (Tolu) is one of the co-founders of Kugali. My brother literally made history with this. For the first time in over a century, Disney collaborated with another studio. I'm so proud of him and excited to see what doors this opens for other African creatives.
That's amazing! Thanks for sharing that background. Me too, I really hope this opens up more possibilities for African creatives in the future. I absolutely love the show Supa Team 4 and I'm excited to watch this show.
@@b1njjj95 it's my pleasure 😊
This makes me happy and now just waiting to watch this.
Hi Disun, great to see you here. We had a good time with Tolu when he came to the London launch. God bless, Uncle Femi
I'm Nigerian and everything about this film feels so Nigerian. The accent is so Nigeria and i love it!
So proud of Kugali. Excited to be a part of this. Up 🇳🇬
African and Nigerian here, can't wait for this!
Edit: so it's basically like an indie cartoon backed up by a huge company. Power to the small creators!
I loved this this tv series! It feels so great to have a coming of age story that feels real, authentic, and represents me. Everything from Tola's confidence to the adorable moments she has reminds me of myself as child! It finally feels like I don't have to search for pieces of my identity in shows that weren't made for me. Kugali's Iwaju finally feels like a bigger picture that not only represents me but keeps me hanging onto every word!
Just finished watching Iwájú and loved it! I’d love to see different African stories and issues covered in future series
I would like to see this show. It looks like a great story based on the culture, and the animation looks amazing as well.
proud 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
I believe this is the reason every African and Nigerian are going to subscribe to Disney+ for this series. Iwájú streaming February 28.
why would they sub just for this
Not just African and Nigerian everyone around the world will know what future of Nigeria is when we explored the city of Lagos
POV... DISNEY+ is not available in Nigeria
From Ghana....let's gooo🎉
I liked it. It's like Cyberpunk but in Nigeria.

Now, after that Disney should also make our own African princess movie
I Love This Story. I Can't Wait To See 🥺❤️😭
What an awesome project! Can't wait to check it out.
Amazing!
It's nice seeing more afro-futuristic sci-fi shows centred in Africa. I would love to see a 3D animated feature length film from Disney centred around African culture.
🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬❤❤❤

Cool.
I can’t wait to add this to my don’t watch list, isaved the date!
yes
Wow
This is a series I look forward to from Disney. Not some political objective forced down our throats, not a warping of an existing story because for some reason being Caucasian is suddenly bad, just what promises to be an entertaining story, this time in the setting of Nigeria. I thoroughly loved and enjoyed Moana and being exposed to Pacific Islander culture. I thoroughly loved and enjoyed Encanto and being exposed to Latin American culture. I can't wait for this to premier so I can visit Nigeria on screen.
it not a movie it a tv show
@@jimbo9208 I just saw a second promotional video for this and realized that.
“Not a warping of an existing story because for some reason being Caucasian is suddenly bad”
Oh shut up. Disney has never suggested such.
@@C-Bee Climb out from under your rock and look at their Snow White travesty and then shut the fuck up yourself.
Disney has never suggested that being Caucasian is suddenly bad. If you look at the Disney's history, they are only now adding more diverse characters to their line up to remain relevant. And there is nothing wrong with Disney showcasing other cultures in their media. The problem is that so many people have a problem when Disney makes media that features non-caucasian protagonists, and especially *black protagonists.* Even if they are original characters not linked to existing characters. Look at all the 'woke garbage' comments on all the clips for this show. It's ridiculous.
As a Yoruba princess I love seeing my beautiful people in a futuristic sci-fi cartoon.
Woo woo stay in your truth keep your own idea to your self please. Wonderful job my brotha and sistas.
🎉
wow disney

I'm surprised that Disney has to bleep language!
😁
Isn't it a kid's animated show? Parents don't want kids to hear swearwords.

@@1992disney thanks for proven my point
@@jimbo9208 And constantly saying that only exposes you as such further.
@@1992disneyit sad that people like you keep using the word woke when you don't even know what it means
First
no one cares
asian→small eyes
African→black
Caucasian→body odor
We are all different and are all wonderful.
Body odor is crazzzyyy💀
LMAO what a comment!
What a awful way to make movies

What makes this TV series (this is not a movie) so awful? Please also explain in thorough detail how you would have created this show and what techniques and resources you would have used to make this different.
What's awful about the TV series?
Hey ! What the fuck is wrong with you ?!
