Nice! ......... as a kid in the 70's, i had a book of sci-fi illustrations, and to me Chris Foss was a magic name, because all my favorite pictures in the book were his!
Foss was an enormous influence on me as a kid, possibly the first artist whose work I recognised as the style of a specific artist. His book covers were iconic.

Ahora, refiriéndome al trabajo de "Chris", puedo decir que sus puntos de vista y ángulos de visión que utiliza para realizar sus obras, siempre me dan la sensación de dinamismo y movimiento, pues los dibuja desde ésa perspectiva tan especial y de sello propio. Excellent overview, (subscribed), Chris Foss art took my breath away when I first came across his art in the early seventies. Among his contemporaries his art was unique. Honorary mentions go to Bruce Pennington and the much underrated Peter Andrew Jones.
@@ArtShutter He did some astonishing cover art, and probably came the closest to replicating the Foss style on his E.E Doc Smith covers, but his originality shone through later. A book called Solar Wind collected his paintings. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos some of my favourites are there😊

As a young boy I remember seeing Foss's covers for E.E. Smith's Lensman series. I thought I was reading contemporary SF. Only later did I realise they were written many years ago but Foss had worked on my youthful imagination so much that I never clicked. I'd like to thank Chris Foss for introducing me to a genre that is still my favourite.
Great video as usual💪🏻I have a big fancy hardcover book of Foss art. His art has remarkable sense of wonder. I remember staring at his book covers when traveling abroad decades ago. I was so young I couldn’t understand language of those books but still those covers felt like a window to another galaxy. Sadly Finnish versions didn’t use Foss art.

Great illustrations! I wasn't familiar with Foss. Edmund Emshwiller and Frank Kelly Freas are a couple of my favorite science fiction illustrators.
