    That reef-building company must have had one HELL of a salesman in their team.

    I am from Spain and I was living in Southampton and used to go surfing to Bournemouth when they started building this reef . Sincerely, I actually hoped this would be quite better, looking at the result I wonder what a waste of money it has been.
    I used to get better waves near the peer than the ones I am seeing in these videos.

    The wave is long enough for him to drop in and do one turn. Yippee!.

    Are you having a laugh? Intermediate to advanced? LOL, That's the shittiest wave I've ever seen.

    This reef has certainly put bournemouth on the map as a complete laughing stock

    Everyone says it's a shit wave but it's a hell of a lot better than the other waves we get on the South Coast. We weren't expecting it to be World class, just better than the messy 1-2fts we normally get

    Are they talking about the same wave as in the film?

    They should have sunk a Type 42 destroyer out there below the waterline, and then you'd get some waves.

    Boy that's a poor wave. I'm not gonna poke fun at it because you could never know exactly how it's going to work until it's built and put in the water, however such a narrow shelf could surely only produce a deep narrow wave with nowhere to go.

    Hi Fred, it's pathetic, but not as pathetic as the toads talking it up.

    Ben Mondy..... tsk,tsk.
    But your body language, including your frown, tells the truth.
    There was a short flash of a bodyboard on the shore break and it shows it was better than the reef!?

    its closed at the moment , we dont know when it will open , something about a spit sand bag . theay say it was done by a boat , i am not a surfer but live in bournemouth , it does not look that good to be honest and the waves are better on the other side of the pier.

  • @srfrr
    @srfrr 12 лет назад +1

    Kind of a shite wave to be honest. The waves are just big meat backs and the actual break looks like such a short ride. They should have made the damn thing the size of seven or eight football pitches not bloody one.

      Not on a day like that, but on a sunny day between about April to August you can get very sunburnt in the uk.

    why are the lifeguards there 365 days, i dont get it, im from Cornwall and the best time to surf is when they go. through the winter, they arent there and if you can brave going out its brilliant, people wanting a good surf arent going to waste there time heading here unless it starts to pick up, i must say from what ive seen its very disappointing so far. Where i currently live this is my closest local spot, and the reports ive got back so far from other locals are its shit!!! i hope it works

    @abSURDub because Bournemouth council paid for it and it was intended to bring tourism to Bournemouth, not Cornwall.

    Mate...suddenly Lyall Bay is looking great ....... do the people who make these "artificial reefs" actually have any degrees or general knowledge about the sea bed and how reefs affect the wave formation and shape?
    If it were me I'd wanna just pay a deposit and pay the balance AFTER I'd seen the results (or in this case) lack of!

    • @alkaholic4848
      @alkaholic4848 2 года назад

      Nope, they only understand how to bullshit people into giving them money.
      And unfortunately it was a council project, so funded by either corruption or idiocy or both. They could have already seen the results - the company that installed it had already installed another failure elsewhere.
