    Hopoo when the void fields were first added had the timer pause too, but they changed it to continue cause of how op it was. Guess Gearbox thought otherwise.

      Oh noes... We're back to always void fields stage 2 all the time. But wait... Can the spawns still drop items via sacrifice? Also, surely they didn't also revert the ramping dot while outside the bubbles? I mean... If you can clear the first tele on time, it's usually already a WinRAR barring mushrum accidents.

      This is still the most dangerous place in the game so. I think it's a nice change to Risk/Reward style

    I think good compromise would be timer that goes 0.5x usual. Will still make void field relevant&good but not broken.

      it was honestly kind of good already despite the time increase, since u get more items and can leave without even needing to do vents

    Has time ever been THAT major of an issue? The reason I never go Void Fields is because due to the rng, it has a 50/50 of being really easy or absurdly difficult. The problem has always been ''yeah I'm cooked'' rather than ''yeah the timers going on too long''

      For a seasoned player, time doesnt really matter, true but for 20 free items it's a no brainer. Its not because it removes the time limit its more because 20 free items is just insane and I imagine the scaling for this is even more crazy with multiplayer. My friends and I are doing a challenge where each time we win we add a random artifact and this is going to be AMAZING combined with one of our artifacts, sacrifice and eventually command.

      Time going for too long COULD be a problem, but since it's not an IMMEDIATE problem like: Getting blind pest with 3x Shurikens and 5x Crowbar you don't think about it

      not really for more experienced players. the main thing that made vields good was being able to full loot then leave without even needing to do all the vents. roughly 5 minutes or so for a small stage and a half worth of items.
      but now there's literally no downside at all lol. actually charging cell vents is even an option now too

    Bruh i always go void fields basically every run but idk if i wanna do that anymore because it practically trivializes runs now 😭

    I stopped going to void fields since they made it so the timer kept going. It just wasn't worth it most of the time because clearing the stage takes a fixed amount of time due to the teleporter events and leaving the stage will trigger an additional 15% difficulty increase.
    Take that in consideration... that % difficulty will scale multiplicatively thus making the last Stage and Mithrix a lot harder. Time factor just made the stage not worth it.
    Now it is kinda OP but as an optional stage it makes the game fun.

    Imean, artifact of sacrifice, swarms and command made the voidfields OP in the firstplace when the timer stopped.
    That was a great way to unlock the alternate skins

    The thing is void fields used to not have the potentials, just the random item. The potentials were added alongside the timer continuation, and now that the timer is stopped again this is easily the strongest the void fields have ever been lol

    I would balance this by removing the option to leave the void fields early.
    That way going there is a gamble. If the gamble pays off and you get easy or even moderate enemies and items, you get free items and become op.
    If you get enemies with tougher times and unstable tesla, you die.
    Not the best solution gameplay wise, but if they want void fields to not keep time going, and want it to keep the extra loot, that's the only real option available to make it somewhat balanced.
    After all, it ain't called RISK of rain for nothing

      thats interesting. if they were to do that, i'd like for there to be more of an incentive. around at least 20 mins spent for 9 potentials and a small stage n a half worth of items doesnt really do it for me.
      maybe they can mess with time instead? like if a cell vent is completed, the timer gets reduced by 2 minutes or something on top of giving a potential? idk i'm just spitballing here. seems really tough to balance

    So I'm going to still avoid void fields in favor of giving one lemurian egg a shipping request form. If you get four eggs and one of them has the form, there should be a high chance that by next stage if they all stay alive that you can pull a red item out of the pod, and it only goes up from there

    Honestly? Good. Void fields sucked before this, wish they never touched them after 1.0.
    The void fields after the rework were honestly completely useless to go to outside of just the acrid unlock. There is no conceivable reason you wouldn't just want go to the next stage to get the same potential new items, money and levels instead, especially since there'd be no threat of enemies getting something like syringes, tougher times and tesla coil lol
    The way they used to be was fun AND challenging (depending on what enemies get), and always risky to go to even if you know what you can gain out of it.
    OP? Yeah kinda, but well, that's the point if you manage to survive multiple swarms of random (potentially extremely dangerous) enemies with random (potentially extremely oppressive) items lol
    Glad they're back to their glory.

      vields was definitely still very good before this lol. of course the 9 potentials were never really worth it, which really sucks since that's pretty much the main gimmick. but being able to loot a small stage and a half of items and leaving after like 5 minutes or so made it really good. highly recommend you check out disputed origin's video on the topic

    So i want u to understand that time use to pause before the survivors of the void dlc then they had it continue on when they added the dlc i use to use the artifact of command and the on for mobs drop items to just get infinite loot on round 2

      They definitely are not balancing the game thinking about artifacts. Especially not command or sacrifice. Both of those already break the game. Not to mention the new lumerian one that’s equally broken

    The first official gearbox-only update and this is what we get. I was already skeptical as to how they would approach further development but I mean this just speaks for itself.

      im honestly a fan of the stuff they added and the direction theyre going.
      but man... the quality control can really use some work. im baffled they added an artifact where the code isn't even in the game yet lol

      it really baffles me that they removed the stage-advancing mechanic from void fields, back in the seekers of the storm teaser update. it wasn't even worth mentioning in a patch note to them!
      no fixes to annoying persistent bugs, no QOL improvements, no attempt to address balance or unpopular mechanics... but sure, lets take one of the game's most fun and interesting quirks and throw it in the garbage!
      and now with this change (also completely unmentioned?) lets just go and totally ruin the balance that hopoo tried to do before.
      hopoo isn't perfect, they're a tiny little indie team that can only do so much. i had hoped that now that gearbox is in control we could see huge changes, improvements, and polish that wasn't there before. but with two updates that both had some pretty lousy, baffling little changes and hardly any good changes; i'm more doubtful.

If anything smaller dev teams have proven that they're so much more capable of accomplishing great things simply because they're *not* driven by greed like any of the big studios are these days. Just look at Blizzard... Ubisoft... you get the point.
