- A few weeks back I placed an order and the package arrived today. It's something I've wanted to add to the studio for a long time, and I managed to track one down. This was sold to me as "new old stock" and "new in the box". I thought it would be fun to open on camera.
Update: Red One Music contacted me back and agreed to refund $350 off the price. I think that is a fair since I won't be using the damaged siderails at this point.
I bought a 32 channel Project 8 a few years ago from Reverb. It was packed in a clothing packing box (thin corrugated cardboard), filled with packing peanuts and a couple of patio chair cushions. Mangled the frame, I’m still trying to rebuild it. Your box opening took me right back, my heart was racing haha.
I recently found a 24 channel used at an out of state Guitar Center. Arrived on a pallet (they only charged $25 for shipping!), not a scratch and in way better condition than listed. Hopefully I’ll have the 32 + 24 next to each other soon 😁.
I also developed some mods to the PSUs, trying to pick up where Tim Jones left off. Higher current handling and some protections for the outputs (plus upgraded rectifiers and beefier caps). If you’re interested in the details, and still have the console, let me know!

It really was the find I've been waiting to find. I'm still working on the acoustics in the room, but hopefully I'll be pumping music through it very soon.

I found that at some shop for really cheap around September. I took it to the checkout and she said "Getting ready for Halloween?"
I gave her a confused look at said "Halloween?!?!"
There was a fantastic awkward pause as she tried to figure out what to say next.
That was fun to watch! Is there any way you could send me pictures of the power supply (especially the label) for the 24:8-2 (non-Project 8)? I just got the console without a power supply, and since the original PSU is impossible to find, I need a tech to build it for me, and he says he needs a photo of the original PSU.
I can. The PDU for both boards is the same.
