I was just wondering about How can Clinical Attachment be helpful to an IMG and what is the expected role from an IMG and you've posted this video at very accurate time. Thank you doc!
Hi Doctor! I will start applying for clinical attachments in few days. As you said it takes time to get a reply from HR or consultants and one needs to be patient. I will also apply for standard visitor visa for PLAB 2 next month. I was wondering if I do not get a reply from any trust till I file my visa for PLAB 2, how will I show the return flight ticket to my home country. I heard it is mandatory to show a return ticket. What if I get accepted for a clinical attachment later. How to show return ticket booking if I'm not sure about the return date for visa? Please reply!
Great video. I wanted to ask if there are any hospital which offer totally free of cost attachment? And secondly, does doing an attachment in the field you want to persue look good in the CV later on when applying for ST training, and should one decide on which attachment to do based on this?
Hello, i have a question. I'm from a country outside the EU, but im studying in an EU country. And as you know, from 2021, Medical graduate from EU countries do not need to seat for the plab exam for we can get GMC full registration. my problem is after obtaining GMC full registration, when i apply for job, i get rejected because they always ask for UK clinical experience which can only be obtained if i come to UK for some clinical attachment but due to my immigration status, i will need a visa to travel to the UK. my question is, do you think i can get accepted too clinical attachment without having to be in the UK? and with my acceptance letter, i can apply for visa? which visa route should i follow?
I’m going to graduate from an EU university next year (so no need for PLAB) and I want to get a non-training job asap. From what I understand it is almost impossible to get a job without a clinical attachment. Is this true?
Hi Dr. Ibreez ! My daughter is planning to apply for a visit visa as she has found a hospital for a clinical attachment. How much money should she have in her bank account ? Thanks.
It should be reflective of the cost she will be showing. If she is showing the time she spends in the UK will cost her £1,000, the bank statement at least needs to reflect 2-3x that.
Hello, I have got a clinical attachment , my query was what sort of visa will I required? I’m from India, I have got a clinical attachment at Northampton Trust hospital, now which visa should I be applying for? Regular visiting visa?
Pls could you put me through on how you got clinical attachment at this same trust-Northampton hospital as I’m seeking to do one there, did they charge a fee and how long did you do it for? Thanks.
Question: If one happens to get an attachment position, can he/she get a job by the side to be able to pay for the position and his/her stay in the UK? By job I mean anything like working at a restaurant or something just to be able to survive. Thanks for your videos and I really hope you see this question.
Hello Ibreez I haven't seen a hospital asking for money for a clinical attachment only for elective for medical students. I even had one lined up with Oxford University, but had to cancel cos Covid cancelled plans. Plus classmates who had done an attachment had edges in their job application Just thought to add this.
@@RoadToUK can I really ask a question. I’m a UK graduate. I arranged a clinical attachment at a local hospital to me. But they never asked for a DBS check and I completely let it pass me that they might assume I knew to get one. I got the placement through approaching different consultants. Do you think I should let them know beforehand?
Are there good chances of being hired even if we don't do the clinical attachment post plab 2? (And return to our home country after giving plab 2 exam due to lack of finances)
Hi Dr Ibreez ..Ur videos r very helpful..I have a small doubt I am an mbbs graduate from WHO recognised university from china..does mci exam to be cleared is mandatory in this plab journey to become a doctor???
@@RoadToUK So if I pass plab 2, I can apply say two-three years later? I’m only asking because I’m dealing with a few issues at the moment that will prolong my journey
There is no set data on this. Starting salary basic pay of a consultant is £84,559. On-call commitments will add onto that for the total salary, but this can vary from specialty to specialty.

Hello dr. Ibreeze,
How long does it take to complete 1 clinical attachment?
Depends on the program.
Great video.

There are some, but you'd have to hunt for them as we've described in the video. No, attachments play no role in your training application.

no
Not allowed to work on visit vsia
Not unless you have a settled visa status
Should we do the clinical attachment in desired department or can we do it any department we get
It would be better to do it in the specialty you wish to pursue.

So it means shadowing is better than clinical attachment?
Depends on what you're looking to do and get out of it
Does the clinical attachment help in PLAB 2 or its a preparation for the final job in NHS
It may help you get an idea of the workplace
This is a great video
Thanks for saying so 😊

How many doctors earn more than 300k pound sterling in uk? Nice video.
lol wtf
Consultants usually earn between 80k- 150k Pounds. Doctors earning more than 300k Pounds would be very very rare.
