Love your attitude!!! Especially in a world where narcissism is becoming ever more prevalent in the population. You come across very humble and honest (not to many ppl today would openly say they are unsure or “i could be wrong”) which is very refreshing to see. Especially with the specific type of content you are doing ie flying, which is literally a matter of life and death, so its definitely reassuring for whoever is training with you as having someone who is authentic, straight forward and you seem to leave any ego at the door when it comes to your analysis and overall attitude about flying. Keep up the great content, and look forward to seeing the bright future you have ahead of yourself! Cheers
Alot of RUclipsrs talk like a TV personality, I like it better when you just talk to me like a normal person. What I do is imagine them at the dinner table talking like they do and how weird they would sound, wwwwwewwwuts up family! im back for another dinner! 😆
I don’t feel like the get-there-itis type but my personal minimums when it comes to wind are that of the structural / performance limits of the aircraft. Being able to straddle the wind at 5kts or 35kts is a crucial skill and the only way to get better is to practice them with a pilot monitoring.
Very true I asked my instructor to go up on probably the windiest day of the entire year just so I could get experience with strong winds. We were the only flight that day from my school
I’m also a programmer and pilot. It’s basically the same mind game. You can get away with a quick dirty code fix 9 times, but the system WILL crash the 10th time.
They develop throughout training and experience. I was only 2 weeks in private pilot training when my instructor told me to set my minimums but I struggled greatly with them because I only had 5 hours. But later on my CFI had me up in tougher conditions so I know what my limits are.
My first instructor use to harp on and on about, "takeoffs are optional, but landings are mandatory."
Have you ever watched 56 seconds to live? I normally watch it if I ever feel bad about cancelling a flight.
Thanks for the recommendation! Going to check it out now
3:22 I wasn't paying full attention but it was only at this point I realised it's a contemporary video and not from the golden age of cine film

That being said you can always go around.

I’m a computer programmer, I know shit about flying, but keep up the good work on your channel!
Thank you!

How do you find your personal mins and what are yours if you don't mind sharing?

Wisdom > Bravado
All this personal minimum stuff only lasts until you get an actual job. You can’t tell your boss you won’t fly in many jobs.
That’s what I’ve heard.
