Vallejo Rotary Dictionary Handout

Vallejo Rotary gives a dictionary to every third-grader in Vallejo, California. This is a very short time-lapse of one of the dictionary hand-out events on February 18th, 2016.
In all, we handed out approximately 1,400 dictionaries on that day.
Some have questioned the fact that in this internet age, we still hand out dictionaries. Dictionaries are part of the 3rd grade curriculum in California. For some of the kids, this will be the first book they own. The smiles on their faces tell us we are still fulfilling an important need for these kids.

Who'd a thought when we were goofing around together in 6th grade that one day we would be 50 years old, with kids, and both involved in Rotary? Think of the laugh we would have had if someone had told us that back then. Thanks for sticking around Hans.
